Chu Ge coughed, and Guan Peng snapped back to reality. He instinctively glanced at the rearview mirror and saw Chu Ge's little actions clearly, unable to help but smile bitterly again.

Since Chu Ge had already put it that way and done things to this extent, it seed like he really had no choice but to help.

To put it more bluntly, when it cos to taking money, sotis for people like them, it's really not up to them. So money brings trouble when you take it, but so money brings more trouble if you don't take it.

Just like now, even if he saw what Chu Ge did, he had to pretend he didn't see it. Everyone is tacitly aware, and he has to accept the money, otherwise, it would an disrespecting Chu Ge.

Having heard about so many incidents involving Chu Ge, Guan Peng genuinely didn't want to offend this Plague God. Besides, Chu Ge's request was actually not excessive, and this task was not a difficult one for him. The key was he didn't know what Chu Ge planned to do next and whether it would bring him new trouble.

With a silent sigh, Guan Peng smiled bitterly and said, "Brother Chu... well, I'll do my best."

Chu Ge chuckled, "Brother Guan, I an no harm. I just want to know about their origins and wouldn't give you any additional trouble. Rest assured about this."

"Get lost, as long as you're involved, it can't be a good thing. Rest assured? Rest assured my ass!"

Of course, these complaints could only stay in Guan Peng's mind; he certainly couldn't say them out loud. He managed a reluctant smile and gave a slight "hm" through his nose.

During the drive, Guan Peng didn't say much more, and Chu Ge instructed Song Baijia on so matters. In no ti, the police car arrived at the station.

After going through all the necessary procedures at Xinghe Police Station, although Chu Ge could leave, he didn't hurry out. He wanted to wait and see how those South Koreans would react and who would co to pick them up later.

Unfortunately, although Chu Ge wanted to stay, Guan Peng urged him to leave with a pained expression. Understanding Guan Peng's predicant, Chu Ge didn't have the heart to impose further, so he left as advised.

Anyway, he could keep in touch with Guan Peng via phone regarding any developnts.

After leaving the police station, Chu Ge stretched and turned to give Song Baijia a sly grin. "Brother Song, let's go and find a place to eat sothing?"

Song Baijia's mouth twitched a couple of tis and he shook his head vigorously, "Nah, I'm not going. I just want Jingjing now, and have a good sleep."

Understanding Song Baijia had been through the wringer, Chu Ge couldn't resist teasing him, "Who's Jingjing? Are you two sleeping together?"

Song Baijia was speechless, giving Chu Ge a big Byakugan, "You wretched jerk, you're just bad."

Chu Ge laughed heartily, "Alright, just teasing you. Let's eat so other day then. I should probably head ho and cuddle up in my wife's bed. I'll ntion your job to her later and you wait for my call."

Sitting in the taxi heading ho, Chu Ge kept pondering the issues involving those South Koreans, hoping he was being overly cautious but couldn't help but be concerned.

Bao Zhanhai brought over twenty n, all carrying weapons, yet they were no match at all for those seven or eight unard South Koreans.

This wasn't about Bao Zhanhai being weak but rather those South Koreans being strong, with each of them having quite the skills.

More importantly, judging by the techniques these South Koreans displayed and their reactions at the ti, they were definitely not just well-trained in a simple sense.

Every single one of them, clearly seed to have been in real battles countless tis before. For fighting and confrontations, they weren't just familiar; they appeared more like gangsters than Bao Zhanhai's lot.

Who exactly are these people...?

While thinking about these issues, the taxi suddenly stopped. Chu Ge snapped out of it and looked out the window, realizing he had arrived unknowingly, a small smile playing on his lips.

Finally ho, it's so good to be ho.

Getting out of the car, Chu Ge walked into the Huafu Garden District. Looking at the familiar surroundings, scenes from when he t Qin Ruojing started flooding his mind. It was just a chance encounter, yet they sohow ended up here.

In the evening darkness, Chu Ge walked leisurely through the neighborhood. The closer he got to Qin Ruojing's building, the softer his heart felt, as the irritability, hostility, and other negative emotions of late gradually dissipated.

At last, he stood at the foot of the building, looking up toward the fifth floor. Even though it was dark up there too, a genuine, radiant smile spread across his face.

Honey, I'm ho!

However, just as Chu Ge's smile reached its brightest, it suddenly froze. His mouth twitched a couple of tis, and he slapped his forehead with a "smack."

Darn, how did I forget this? Qin Ruojing should be at Qin Ruoying's place right now. He never told her he'd be back today, so how could she possibly be here?

Realizing this, Chu Ge's face twisted in a complicated expression. Smiling bitterly, he rubbed his forehead. Seriously, how could he forget this? His wife wasn't even ho; whose bed was he planning to crawl into?

Sigh... Looks like being clever can sotis backfire!

With a bitter smile, Chu Ge took out his phone, thinking of calling Qin Ruojing. He looked at the ti, almost ten o'clock, hesitated for a while, and finally put the phone back.

Even though Qin Ruojing might not be asleep at this point, Chu Ge still didn't want to bother her. If he went directly to Qin Ruoying's place, it didn't seem quite right either. Maybe, he'd just wait to surprise Qin Ruojing tomorrow.

After hesitating downstairs for a while, Chu Ge scratched his head and walked into the apartnt building, feeling speechless. Even if he couldn't see his wife today, he still had to sleep. But... this night, which he had hoped would be a sweet and warm one, was destined to be a restless one with an empty pillow.

Sighing slightly, Chu Ge walked into the building with his head drooping, bored, and got on the elevator, pressing the button for the fifth floor, clinging to a slight hope that Qin Ruojing might be ho.

Out of the elevator, took out the keys, opened the door.

After throwing the suitcase onto the living room floor, Chu Ge casually turned on the living room lights. Everything inside was just as it was when he left, except there was no wife.

The room faintly slled of alcohol. Chu Ge sniffed and guessed that Qin Ruoying might have co by to practice bartending again?

"Sweetie, I'm back! Co out and greet your husband!"

Although he knew Qin Ruojing wasn't ho, Chu Ge shouted anyway, and waited a few seconds after shouting. Regrettably, only the expected silence responded to him.

Sigh...

Bending over to change his shoes, Chu Ge continued to mutter to himself, "Oh, not coming out to greet , huh? Getting bold? Don't let catch you. Let's see how I'll deal with you then."

Rather than entertaining himself, it was more like self-mockery for his carelessness, along with a bit of complaining about coming ho and not seeing his wife.

As Chu Ge muttered to himself, he went to the bathroom to freshen up, then with a whole lot of helplessness, he opened the bedroom door sulkily.

With a "click," the door opened, and as Chu Ge was about to walk in, he froze on the spot, his face suddenly showing a complex expression.

On the large bed before him, there lay a woman, the one he most wanted to see upon coming back.

She was lying on the bed with her back to him. Looking at her cascading black hair, Chu Ge couldn't help but feel his heart pound. A smile brightened his previously bored face as he opened the door.

Qin Ruojing is actually ho?

Hehe! Qin Ruojing is actually ho!

In just a few seconds, the smile on Chu Ge's face turned into an awkward grin. He had been saying quite a bit about how he would deal with Qin Ruojing. She must have heard it all clearly. Looking at her back facing him, she was probably in that...

"Uh... honey, you're ho, huh?" Chu Ge awkwardly scratched his head. "Why didn't you make a sound if you're ho?"

Qin Ruojing didn't make a sound. Chu Ge rolled his eyes and coughed, "I intended to give you a surprise, so I didn't call you beforehand. Didn't expect that when I got ho, you'd give a scare first, hehe…"

Qin Ruojing still didn't make a sound, leaving Chu Ge even more speechless, "Hey, with my temper, isn't it about enough? Your husband is back, won't you make a sound quickly? I even nitpicked you for not coming to greet your lord, and you got cheeky?"

"Mmm..."

Qin Ruojing finally reacted a bit, her body moved slightly, and she let out a vague nasal sound.

Hearing that incredibly lazy nasal sound, Chu Ge broke into a cold sweat. So after all this ti, Qin Ruojing was not deliberately ignoring him; she was clearly drunk and asleep and hadn't heard a word he said!

Chu Ge, at his wit's end, sat down by the bed, leaned forward slightly, and saw Qin Ruojing with a slightly flushed face, instinctively moving her lips a bit. Her long eyelashes gently fluttered; she seed to be sleeping soundly.

"I..."

Gazing at Qin Ruojing's slightly flushed sleeping face, Chu Ge was left speechless with embarrassnt, realizing he had wasted so much breath and emotion in vain.

Having sat on the bed for just a few seconds, Chu Ge pinched his eyebrows, feeling both amused and exasperated. He had almost lost his life over the past few days, while Qin Ruojing seed to be enjoying herself, even indulging in a little drink.

Moreover, he'd been ho for quite so ti, sitting right beside her, yet she hadn't woken up. How much did she drink, anyway?

Of course, Chu Ge wasn't truly angry. Seeing Qin Ruojing sleep so blissfully was also sothing he hoped for. As a man, a husband, shouldn't he be the one shielding his woman from storms, allowing her to live happily and peacefully?

"Sweetie, I'm back, sweetie?"

Chu Ge called Qin Ruojing several tis, but she still showed no sign of waking up. Chu Ge lovingly watched her for a mont and suddenly ca up with a "great idea," a mischievous smile creeping across his face.
