"Clang!"

Chu Ge tossed the Tang knife in his right hand towards Yuan He, landing accurately at Yuan He's feet.

Yuan He frowned, glanced at the knife on the ground, then at Chu Ge. Though he didn't speak, his face was full of "What do you an?"

Chu Ge, of course, knew that Yuan He had many doubts in his heart, but... he wasn't planning to explain too much to Yuan He. He shrugged and let out a chuckle.

"What? Are you so scared when you see ? So terrified that you won't even dare to pick up the knife?"

Yuan He stood still, despite knowing that under such strange circumstances, picking up the knife would be the wisest choice compared to bare-handed.

However, Chu Ge's words annoyed him too much; on the surface, they seed like questioning, but in reality, it felt more like a condescending command, or perhaps trying to lead him by the nose.

"Do you feel like I'm provoking you? Do you think I look down on you? Even though your mind is filled with questions, you think picking up the knife will make you feel safer, but because of your pride and ego, even reason tells you not to dawdle and just pick it up quickly, yet a small voice in your head counters you, telling you no, you can't pick it up; picking it up ans losing your montum?"

Upon hearing this, Yuan He's eye corner twitched violently. Each of Chu Ge's words hit the mark, summarizing it perfectly, as if directly reading all the information in his head.

"Hmm, now you're probably wondering how this guy summarizes so well, huh? Right! I was following Chu Mu to find Chu Chengrui, suddenly ended up here. Does this guy have so Mind Control ability, or even the ability to read minds?"

Yuan He tried his best to keep calm, but as Chu Ge spoke more, his expression beca uglier, his eye twitching grew more intense, his face expressing "Damn! How do you know everything?"

"Now, I'm giving you one last three seconds. You can continue being stubborn or choose to pick up the knife, but... after three seconds, whatever your choice is, I will make a move. Now, the countdown begins."

Chu Ge smiled lightly, revealing his white teeth, "Three."

Perhaps this is a kind of tacit understanding in the dark; just now, He Qing did the sa thing as him.

Just as Chu Ge said "Three," Yuan He gritted his teeth, his toe fiercely flipped the Tang knife, the knife body tilted forward and spun, with the knife tip forward and the hilt behind, a glimr of silver light.

Yuan He's body leaned forward, shifting his center of gravity, ready to act. As the Tang knife flipped to waist level, he reached out his right hand towards the hilt.

Just as his fingers were about to touch the hilt, his movent suddenly changed; his horizontally stretched palm suddenly stood upright, and his palm pushed forward, slamming the hilt heavily.

In an instant, the Tang knife seed to turn into a silver snake, tracing a sinister and unpredictable trajectory from bottom to top, darting towards Chu Ge like chasing stars and the moon.

Yuan He never underestimated Chu Ge, even at first sight, before knowing Chu Ge's true face, he felt the guy with the exaggerated mask was a formidable opponent.

Even though Yuan He had far surpassed his strength from the last ti he t Chu Ge, just the fact that Chu Ge could mysteriously bring him to this place advised him to stay vigilant.

Thus, Yuan He was determined: if he didn't strike, fine, but if he did, it must be a deadly blow!

This strike was his kill-shot!

Yuan He was very satisfied with this strike; as they say in Hua Country, it seed to be "taking them by surprise," perhaps even "feinting east to attack west," or "deceive the heavens to cross the sea?"

At this close distance, he believed there was a high chance of hitting Chu Ge, after all, even if Chu Ge reacted quickly, it would be difficult to dodge this strike without paying a price.

Whatever reaction Chu Ge makes, he will show a flaw in an instant, and then his next attack will follow rapidly, exerting all his effort to destroy Chu Ge in the shortest ti.

Yuan He's attention was highly focused, his eyes capturing Chu Ge's movents closely, yet... it seed like Chu Ge hadn't reacted at all, no movent whatsoever? The Tang knife, slapped into flight, pierced through Chu Ge's body easily?

Wrong! That was just an afterimage!

Chu Ge hadn't been motionless; rather, his movents were too fast, even though Yuan He was fully concentrated, watching without blinking, he couldn't catch how Chu Ge moved!

Yuan He's scalp tingled, a huge chill enveloping his body. Before the brain issued a command to the body, his right foot suddenly exerted force, his tense body like a spring compressed to the limit, instantly shifted a ter to the left and then darted forward.

Unfortunately, just as he stepped forward, he felt his ankle lightly hooked, and at such full-speed exertion, his body inevitably fell forward.

Yuan He gritted his teeth, his left foot stomped the ground hard, leaping into the air in an awkward posture. Before he could catch his breath, he felt his left ankle firmly grasped, a scarcely perceptible sneer echoed behind him.

What the hell is this!

Every hair on his body stood on end. Yuan He barely managed to adjust his posture, leveraging the force on his left ankle to maintain balance as much as possible. His left leg spun counterclockwise desperately, while his right leg lifted and swung outward. Then, extending with all his might, he kicked backward as though eager to twist his waist into pieces!

Whoosh!

A gust of wind arose, and that long right leg was like a large axe, a steel whip, unstoppable!

Oddly enough, Yuan He felt no sense of relief for having launched such a fierce counterattack. Instead, his heart violently twitched, because the sensation on his left ankle suddenly vanished!

That feeling wasn't a result of his left foot's rotation freeing him from a shackle; rather, the sensation suddenly and utterly disappeared, as if the previous mont was nothing but an illusion, the sensation of being grabbed nonexistent.

Was it an illusion?

Yuan He certainly didn't think so!

But… where on earth is Chu Ge?

This doubt had just surfaced in Yuan He's mind, and before he had ti to regain his balance, a force suddenly struck him from above, propelling him through the air in a cool acrobatic flying kick posture.

Two seconds later, Yuan He ca crashing down into a puddle in the sewer, water splashing everywhere, startling several nearby rats into loud squeaks as they scattered in all directions.

Violently shaking his dizzy head from the fall, Yuan He was just about to get up when his vision suddenly went dark. It turned out to be the sole of a shoe stomping down on his chest, forcefully pressing him back into the puddle.

Yuan He intended to make a move, only to see a flash of cold light before his eyes and hear the sudden clash of tal at his ears.

Clang...

The blades of two Tang swords touched, their backs crossing inward to form a cross, akin to a wide-open pair of scissors pressing against Yuan He's neck, bringing a chilling sensation.

Then ca two lazy words, "Don't move."

Looking at the face devoid of any murderous intent, Yuan He could hardly believe his eyes. Why, how could this be possible?

Is this… Chu Ge's true strength?

No, it isn't. Judging by Chu Ge's expression alone, it's likely… no, it's certain he hasn't gone all out.

On him, there wasn't even a trace of serious intent, let alone a ferocious aura, as if he had just won a dull ga against a trivial opponent.

How could it be like this?

Yuan He was alard inside, facing a Chu Ge so strong and unfamiliar.

Was it true that during the rescue of Li Zheming, he rely stumbled upon Chu Ge at his weakest by pure luck?

No, that's not it. From the strength Chu Ge currently demonstrated, those people at the ti couldn't possibly have injured Chu Ge to such a near-depletion state.

Since that's the case, it seems that there's only one equally absurd possibility left: Chu Ge has undergone a transformation during this period, experiencing a kind of unimaginable enhancent in power.

The two locked eyes for a few seconds, and Chu Ge spoke softly: "Now, I think you should clearly realize that with your strength, you absolutely cannot kill , right?"

Yuan He wished to grind his molars to dust, filled with resentnt and unwillingness in his heart, yet helpless and unable to refute.

"I know, you must still have the trump card given by Chu Chengrui. Since you've beco his top-notch subordinate, it wouldn't be surprising if what he gave you is better and more effective than others. If you were to use this card, perhaps your strength, speed, and defense could multiply on the current basis?"

Yuan He's eyes wandered, his brows furrowing tightly, as if wrestling with inner turmoil.

Chu Ge's hands left the two Tang swords, and with hardly any apparent exertion, the two crossed swords penetrated the ground as if stabbing into tofu, slightly embedding into the skin of Yuan He's neck.

"However, even so, I still wouldn't advise you to use that so-called trump card for a transformation, because you're soone who's always cared about appearances, right? If you end up like Chu Chengrui, neither human nor ghost nor beast, I'm afraid you might not even be able to accept such an image yourself, would you?"

Chu Ge scratched his head, his voice as lazy as his expression, yet it made Yuan He's body suddenly stiffen.

He suddenly felt that what he just considered a lethal blow was simply laughable.
