Xuanyin Sect.

In an airtight room, the oppressive atmosphere was like thick ink, surging and spreading wantonly.

Su Xinghe curled up in the corner, as if enveloped in the shadow of fear.

His hands uncontrollably trembled violently, like a frail and helpless withered leaf about to fall from a tree branch in late autumn.

With much difficulty, he shakily took out his phone.

As the screen lit up, the glaring light seed particularly jarring in the deathly quiet darkness.

Like a sharp blade, it pierced through the darkness, revealing his panic and unwillingness with no place to hide.

His fingers, as if pulled by invisible threads, chanically slid across the screen.

The mont he dialed Shangguan Hong’s number, his breathing beca rapid and heavy, his chest heaving violently, like a trapped beast on the verge of exhaustion.

The sudden ringing broke the silence, sharply and abruptly echoing in the terrifyingly quiet room.

Su Xinghe stared vacantly and despairingly at the phone screen.

Finally, the call connected, and Shangguan Hong’s feigned nonchalant voice, uncomfortably saccharine, leisurely transmitted from the receiver: "Brother Su, did you slay Xu Wendong?"

To Su Xinghe’s ears, this voice was like a sharp dagger, stabbing straight into the depths of his heart.

Su Xinghe’s face instantly beca as ominous as the sky before a storm, sullen enough to wring water out of.

His eyes burned with intense rage, as if capable of incinerating everything in the world.

The muscles on his face twitched involuntarily, as if being pulled by an invisible giant hand.

"Shangguan Hong, did you already know about Xu Wendong’s strength?" He gritted his teeth, speaking every word slowly and deliberately, each word squeezed out as if from between his teeth, his voice emanating an icy chill capable of freezing the surrounding air.

Shangguan Hong’s heart jolted, as if struck by thunder, but being a seasoned scher, he quickly feigned calmness, his voice tinged with a hint of perplexity, attempting to muddle through: "Brother Su, what do you an by this?"

He was clearer than anyone else that admitting knowledge of Xu Wendong’s prowess would shatter his ’Borrow a Knife to Kill Soone’ sche like a bubble.

And what awaited him would be unimaginable consequences.

Su Xinghe let out a heavy snort, laden with infinite anger and humiliation, akin to the final roar of a wounded beast.

His voice trembled with rage: "Shangguan Hong, stop playing dumb here! I, as an Elder, already see your plan crystal clear, you only want to use my Xuanyin Sect to eliminate Xu Wendong!"

"But you’ve overestimated my Xuanyin Sect’s strength!"

"And underestimated Xu Wendong’s capabilities!" His voice was nearly a roar, reverberating through the room, causing the air to tremble faintly.

"Even if my Sect Leader personally acted and activated the Seven Extres Formation, we couldn’t harm Xu Wendong in the slightest!" At this point, a deep despair and fear flashed through Su Xinghe’s eyes, as if seeing his own doom.

Recalling earlier events still sent chills down his spine, a feeling of dread.

Shangguan Hong’s grip on his phone tightened abruptly, his knuckles whitening with the force, the casual smile on his face vanishing without a trace, replaced by uncontrollable shock and panic.

His eyes widened, filled with incredulity, as if hearing an incredible tale.

"This... how is this possible!" Shangguan Hong murmured to himself, his voice rising subconsciously, tinged with a tremor.

His once straight back now bent slightly, like being crushed by an invisible weight.

He knew Xu Wendong was powerful, precisely because he was too strong for him to fight; hence he tried to ’Borrow a Knife to Kill Soone’ by using Xuanyin Sect to eliminate him.

After all.

Xuanyin Sect ranked first in the Provincial Cultivation Realm, its heritage terrifyingly deep!

The Xuanyin Sect Leader was a formidable powerhouse!

But who could have imagined, the outco would be like this?

"Brother Su, this cannot be a joke! Xuanyin Sect’s Seven Extres Formation is a renowned, earth-shattering weapon, how can he, a naless nobody, erge unscathed under such a grand array?"

Shangguan Hong’s grip on the phone trembled slightly, his voice quivered with an unwillingness to accept reality.

He instinctively clenched the phone tightly, as if it was his last shield against the truth, deep down convinced that Su Xinghe must be fearmongering, bluffing with such an outrageous story.

Upon hearing this, Su Xinghe felt a fiery rage surge to his head, his face flushed as if a ripe tomato about to burst.

He paced back and forth in the room anxiously, each step heavy and urgent, the floor reverberating as if his anger were being vented into the ground beneath his feet.

"Is admitting Xu Wendong’s strength so difficult for you? Are you truly ignorant or just pretending?" He hollered, his voice raw and coarse from excessive fury, harsh and grating.

Shangguan Hong’s face twisted into a bitter smile worse than crying, his facial muscles slightly contorting from the forced smile.

He slowly shook his head, his movent revealing a stubborn disregard: "He’s rely a nobody at the Foundation Establishnt Stage, how great could his abilities be? I’ve navigated the cultivation world for many years, seen many geniuses, does he really think he can stir trouble? It’s absurd!"

At this mont, he was like a layer of stubborn prejudice wrapping tightly around him, his eyes blindfolded, unwilling to believe Xu Wendong’s extraordinary prowess.

Su Xinghe was utterly infuriated by his obstinate and ignorant deanor, bursting into laughter filled with mockery and helplessness, as if ridiculing Shangguan Hong’s ignorance and arrogance: "Fine, if you don’t believe it, let spell it out for you one by one!"

"He, single-handedly, countered my Xuanyin Sect with overwhelming might, forcibly taking control of the Seven Extres Formation—such capability, isn’t that powerful?"

He took a deep breath, calming himself down, but at the thought of Xu Wendong’s display of power, his emotions surged uncontrollably: "Moreover, he, alone, routed nearly ten thousand Golden Core Stage experts in our Provincial Cultivation Realm, completely crushing them—how is that not powerful?"

Su Xinghe grew increasingly agitated as he spoke, his voice rising with every sentence, finally almost shouting hoarsely.

Shangguan Hong scread in disbelief: "What did you say, Xu Wendong, single-handedly overwheld nearly ten thousand Golden Core Stage experts of our province?"
