Old Lady Luo did not know that her daughter-in-law was not living a carefree life outside; instead, Chen Guihua’s current treatnt was much more miserable compared to the Luo family.

At least the old lady and the others had food and clothing, whereas Chen Guihua was locked up in a coal mine village in Jinbei.

To prevent her from running away, the buyer had put iron shackles on her hands and feet and detained her in a pitch-dark room where one couldn’t see their fingers in front of their face, feeding her only two dark stead buns a day to stave off starvation.

The buyer was a thin old man in his fifties surnad Sun. He had broken a leg working in the mines when he was younger, so the villagers all called him Sun La.

Having worked in the mine his whole life, Sun La had scrimped and saved sixty thousand yuan to find a wife.

He knew his circumstances were poor, and being la, he had no hopes of buying a young girl in her twenties. Yet, to his surprise, the seller actually found him a near fifty-year-old woman.

Although this woman was quite well-maintained, with fairly delicate skin, age was still an issue, and her temper was particularly fiery; she started shouting about calling the police and crying for help as soon as she arrived ho.

Sun La was furious at the ti. He found the iron shackles he had prepared at ho to lock up Chen Guihua and then severely whipped her with a belt until she cald down.

Thinking about how he had spent over sixty thousand yuan only to buy such an item made Sun La both angry and annoyed, yet he thought since he had already bought her, it would be a pity not to enjoy her.

Never mind that Chen Guihua was older; her figure was well maintained. After all, with the lights off, you couldn’t see what she looked like. Whether she was young or old didn’t matter; that evening, Sun La pinned Chen Guihua against the wall.

Chen Guihua wasn’t soone who had never been played with. In her youth, while working at a song and dance hall, she had her monts of reckless fun with so young guys.

Back then, everyone would at least take a bath and take so safety asures.

But now, the one pressing on her was a filthy old man who hadn’t bathed for who knows how many days, reeking of sweat, with a mouth full of cheap tobacco scent.

Chen Guihua resisted with all her might, but she was no match for Sun La, who had worked in the mines all year round. It took less than two minutes for her to give up resisting.

Sun La was getting more into it as he played, performing his hat trick that night while poor Chen Guihua scread in agony all night long with no one to save her.

This was a dark coal mine, where normally hardly anyone was around; even if soone heard screaming, they were used to it.

In the dark coal mines of Jinbei, there were at least twenty to thirty won abducted each year, all shouting like Chen Guihua was now. But in no ti, they would all calm down.

"Whimper, whimper, whimper..."

Sitting huddled in a corner of the dark room, Chen Guihua covered her face and wept incessantly. In the pitch-black room, she could not see a glimr of light. There was nothing but despair.

At the KFC restaurant, Old Lady Luo and Luo Yuantu were gnashing their teeth, cursing Chen Guihua non-stop, still believing that she had taken the Luo family’s money and was out enjoying a carefree life with Du Xiaoshuai sowhere.

Even her son, Luo Xuanran, had so mixed feelings at this mont.

Although Chen Guihua was his mother, as his father and grandmother said, a woman who abandoned her husband and child did not deserve to be called a mother.

Of course, the key issue was that Chen Guihua went too far, taking all the money from the house and not leaving a single cent for him.

"That damn wench Chen Guihua, I better not see her. Otherwise, I swear I’ll have soone chop her and that pretty boy to pieces!"

Luo Yuantu bit into the fried chicken leg in his hand fiercely, wishing it was Chen Guihua’s leg.

Seeing the whole family so righteously indignant, Zi Tong knew it was no use saying anything. She glanced at the table full of chicken bones, drink cups, and napkins, shook her head, and diverted the conversation. "Grandma, we’ve eaten enough; let’s hurry to Warehouse No. 2."

The old lady nodded her head. She cramd the last piece of the hamburger into her mouth, slurped so cola, wiped her mouth, and said, "Let’s go, we’ll head there right now."

About fifteen minutes later, Old Lady Luo and the others arrived at Warehouse No. 2.

So ti ago, Luo’s Group experienced a shortage in its cash flow and laid off many employees, including the security guard responsible for Warehouse No. 2.

Luo Yuantu happened to know that a spare key was kept in the gatehouse, so he had his son climb inside the gatehouse to retrieve the key and open the warehouse.

Although it had been several years, Luo Yuantu still found the set of red-wood furniture right away.

He lifted the plastic film to reveal the neatly arranged red-wood furniture set.

Old Lady Luo stepped forward, touched the furniture, and reminisced about the days she had spent with her late husband. With a sigh and a bitter tone, she said, "Old man, I never thought that, after so many years, we would still be relying on you."

Ever since Old Man Luo passed away, the Luo family’s business had gradually declined. Although Old Lady Luo had so ability, she was a woman after all and sowhat obstinate. Over the years, the Luo Family had fallen into such decay.

Luo Yuantu knew his mother was moved by the sight and was thinking of his father, so he said, "Mom, all this furniture we bought from Yunfan Furniture is top-notch. It cost us over a million back in the day, and now with the price of red-wood having gone up, I figure it could fetch at least two to three million."

Old Lady Luo shook her head, "That would be under normal circumstances. We’re in need of cash now, and surely people will try to lowball us. I hope it can be sold for one and a half million."

"Yuantu, where do you think we should sell it? To Red Star Macalline or Easyho?"

Luo Yuantu stroked his chin, thought for a mont, and said, "Mom, let’s not go to either."

"Those two mainly deal in branded finished products and the prices aren’t very high, plus many don’t offer to buy furniture."

"I think we should go to Yunfan Furniture!"

"Yunfan Furniture is a high-end furniture store in Jiangling City with a long history. They don’t just sell various high-end furniture, they also purchase them."

"Since we bought this set of red-wood furniture from there, why not sell it back to them? We might even get a good price!"

Old Lady Luo’s eyes brightened, and she nodded, "Okay, let’s do as you say!"

"Xuan Ran, go outside and rent a pickup truck. Rember to bargain."

"Okay."

Luo Xuanran nodded and soon found a pickup truck by the roadside.

"What? Two hundred yuan?"

Upon hearing the driver’s price, Old Lady Luo imdiately beca angry, "It’s only a ten-minute drive from here to Yunfan Furniture and you’re asking for two hundred yuan? Isn’t that a bit too heartless of you?"

The pickup truck driver glanced at the Luo family, then spread out his hands and shrugged, "Old lady, I’m charging for packaging and transport. If you think it’s too expensive, fine, I’ll only charge you a hundred. But you all have to move the furniture yourselves, I won’t help."

At this point, the people from the Luo family included Old Lady Luo, who used a walking stick because of her age, Luo Yuantu, who couldn’t help because he was in a wheelchair, and Luo Zitong, who was a woman.

As for Luo Xuanran, who had always been occupied with eating, drinking, and having fun, expecting him to drink and pick up girls was one thing, but asking him to move heavy items weighing several hundred pounds was, of course, out of the question.

"Forget it, two hundred it is."

Old Lady Luo sighed and said helplessly, "Master, please deliver the goods to Yunfan Furniture as quickly as possible."
