Chapter 1041: Chapter 1040 Dong ngqi’s Background
Leaving Ye Jingtian’s secluded courtyard, Qin Hao arrived at the tavern in front.
The tavern was still crowded. Qin Hao took one glance and then walked out, planning to take a stroll nearby.
As he walked, he thought to himself that both Xingyue Palace and the Butian Sect had sent word, which was good news for him.
He had learned from the Heavenly chanism Pavilion that Xingyue Palace was very powerful, being one of the top forces on the Central Continent.
Top forces in the Central Continent are much stronger than those on the Southern Continent.
As for the strength of the Butian Sect, though Qin Hao was not yet clear, he could gather from the Artifact Spirit of the Binding Immortal Rope that it was not an ordinary force, possibly even more terrifying than Xingyue Palace.
His most important task now was to enhance his personal strength.
Regardless of whether he went to Xingyue Palace or the Butian Sect, he needed strength for sure.
Once he joined Heaven and Earth Academy, he planned to cultivate in isolation within the blessed heavenly grounds, where his realm progress would be rapid with high-grade resources.
“Mr. Qin?”
As Qin Hao strolled and pondered, a voice rang out.
Qin Hao looked up and saw Dong ngqi walking with an elderly man, smiling faintly at him.
Qin Hao was slightly surprised but then nodded slightly, “Miss Dong, are you also out for a walk?”
Dong ngqi smiled gently, “Yes, I didn’t expect Mr. Qin to have so free ti as well. How about we sit at the teahouse ahead? I haven’t thanked you personally for your help in the secret realm.”
“Miss Dong, no need for such formalities. You two carry on. I won’t disturb you,” Qin Hao replied.
The elderly man beside Dong ngqi spoke, “I’ve long heard of Mr. Qin’s great reputation, and eting you today, it indeed lives up to your fa. Your assistance to our young lady is sothing this old man will rember keenly. There is a teahouse ahead owned by this old man; would Mr. Qin care for a visit?”
This was a master, and Qin Hao estimated he was at least above the Peak Realm level.
For this person to call Dong ngqi “Miss,” who exactly was she?
Dong ngqi said, “Mr. Qin, why not co over and take a seat?”
Qin Hao hesitated for a mont and lightly nodded, “Alright, then I won’t decline.”
The old man chuckled and said, “Mr. Qin coming would hardly be an inconvenience. It’s an honor for , Mr. Qin, please.”
Qin Hao followed the two to a teahouse nad Chang’an.
The teahouse was five stories high and made of rare wood materials, with many people sipping and drinking tea on the first floor.
The elderly man, nad He Chang’an, said, “Mr. Qin, please, upstairs.”
Many people inside the first floor noticed Qin Hao, seemingly stunned for a mont, “Isn’t that Qin Hao?”
“Qin Hao? The one who topped the secret realm trial scoreboard?” soone exclaid in surprise.
“Yes, the very sa Qin Hao who defeated top-tier geniuses. He actually ca here; does he also enjoy tea?”
“That young woman is also from the Skyfire Dynasty, right? What are the two of them here for?”
…
Under He Chang’an’s lead, Qin Hao and Dong ngqi reached the fifth floor, which only opened to entertain the most esteed guests. Ordinary cultivators had no right to be here.
“Mr. Qin, Miss, please be seated,” He Chang’an smiled as he spoke.
Dong ngqi said, “Uncle He, you should sit as well.”
“Miss, please be seated first. I will have so good tea brought up,” he said, pushing the door open and stepping out.
This was a private room on the fifth floor. Qin Hao and Dong ngqi sat facing each other, with the window beside them, offering a view of the distant buildings at a glance.
Most of the buildings on the street were three to four stories high, making this fifth-floor structure relatively tall.
The outside buildings gave off a mysterious feeling, possibly due to so formation?
“Mr. Qin, aren’t you the least bit curious?” Dong ngqi couldn’t help but ask as she gazed at him.
Qin Hao turned to look at her, “Not curious. It’s Miss Dong’s private matter.”
Dong ngqi smiled faintly, “Actually, it’s not much of a secret. My family used to be a significant power on the Southern Continent, but unfortunately, a traitor erged, leading to the family’s decline, and we eventually relocated to the Skyfire Dynasty in hardship.”
Qin Hao said, “I suspected from the first eting that Miss Dong wasn’t from an ordinary family.”
Dong ngqi was briefly stunned, then pursed her lips with a smile, “So Mr. Qin noticed from the onset?”
At this mont, He Chang’an returned, carrying a teapot and several teacups from which a refreshing aroma emanated, invigorating the spirit once inhaled.
He placed the teapot and teacups on the table and smiled, “This is the top-class Spiritual Tea from our Chang’an Building. Please, Mr. Qin, Miss, have a taste.”
He poured tea for Qin Hao and Dong ngqi and then stood behind Dong ngqi.
Inside the teacup, a green tea leaf slightly spun, with the tea swirling to form a tiny vortex of Spiritual Energy.
“Mr. Qin, please,” Dong ngqi raised her teacup in a gesture.
Qin Hao picked up his teacup and took a gentle sip. A rich surge of Spiritual Energy stread into his body, circulating internally.
After roughly a minute, the Spiritual Energy finally dissipated, spreading throughout every cell and flesh, leaving a feeling of complete comfort.
“Truly worthy of being top-class Spiritual Tea, indeed remarkable,” Qin Hao exclaid.
He Chang’an chuckled, “Glad Mr. Qin likes it. Feel free to stop by more often.”
Qin Hao nodded, “Alright. I’ve never tasted such top-class Spiritual Tea before, indeed comndable.”
Dong ngqi said, “If Mr. Qin likes it, you can take so along when you leave.”
“Indeed, Mr. Qin. I can have so prepared for you,” He Chang’an quickly added.
Qin Hao shook his head, “No need. It would be wasted on . I can’t brew tea.”
Dong ngqi exchanged a glance with He Chang’an, who perceptively said, “Mr. Qin, Miss, you two chat. I have matters to attend to first.”
After He Chang’an left, Dong ngqi spoke, “Mr. Qin, I am actually a direct bloodline descendant of the Nan Dong Dynasty.”
Upon hearing her words, Qin Hao was briefly stunned, “Nan Dong Dynasty? Is there such a dynasty on the Southern Continent?”
Dong ngqi smiled gently, “There isn’t now, but there was before. What is now the territory of the Nan Zhou Dynasty was previously that of the Nan Dong Dynasty.”
Qin Hao paused, recalling what Dong ngqi had just said she ntioned, “Was it the Zhou Family who overthrew your Nan Dong Dynasty?”
Dong ngqi nodded, a flash of hatred in her eyes, “The Zhou Family was originally subordinates of my Dong Family. However, as their power grew and many masters erged within their family, they launched a sudden attack against us. The Dong Family suffered a grievous blow; most clansn were slaughtered, and only a few managed to escape, including my father’s lineage.”
Gazing at her, Qin Hao calmly said, “Miss Dong, after telling all this, aren’t you afraid I might divulge it and let people from the Nan Zhou Dynasty find out?”
Dong ngqi shook her head, “Mr. Qin isn’t such a person. Those around may leak it, but Mr. Qin never would.”
