Wen Xia perked up at once when she heard this, "Alright, how do you want to help?"

Zhang Hao hesitated for a mont, "First, find a place to stay, whether it’s a hotel or a guesthouse, let get so sleep first."

Wen Xia knew Zhang Hao was utterly exhausted today and decided not to squander her energy on small talk anymore.

"Okay. Wait a bit, and I’ll drive you there, I have an apartnt here, you can stay at my place."

Zhang Hao didn’t emphasize the accommodation much; he felt like if there was a chair in front of him now, he could just sit on it and snore away.

The operation went quite smoothly, and they did their utmost to save the patient’s leg.

Even if it couldn’t be restored to perfection in the future, having that leg was far better than amputation.

By the ti they left the hospital, it was already past midnight.

Zhang Hao was yawning ceaselessly, and Wen Xia wasn’t in much better shape either.

After half an hour’s drive, they finally arrived at the house.

This was a small apartnt Wen Xia bought with her own money after starting work, not very big, but ticulously decorated. However, Wen Xia hadn’t anticipated she wouldn’t stay in this area.

The apartnt was hardly lived in throughout the year; her friends always suggested she should rent it out.

That would earn her a modest inco, but for Wen Xia, she didn’t really care about the rental money.

It was the apartnt she had bought after draining her savings.

It had a different aning to her, so she couldn’t just rent it out lightly.

Now it had co in handy.

Standing in front of the door and looking at the password lock, she fell into deep thought.

Zhang Hao, overco with fatigue, yawned until tears ca out and urged Wen Xia from the side, "Hurry up and open the door, don’t tell you’ve forgotten the key."

Wen Xia took a deep breath and said, "It’s been so long since I last ca here, I’ve forgotten the password."

Zhang Hao’s heart skipped a beat, he squatted down to look at the electronic lock in front of him.

"Think carefully, like your birthday, anniversary, or so numbers that an sothing to you."

Wen Xia also squatted down and wracked her brain for a few, trying several tis to no avail.

Zhang Hao saw a fingerprint symbol on the lock and asked Wen Xia in a low voice, "Did you register your own fingerprint?"

It had been too long, and Wen Xia said doubtfully, "I’ve forgotten, I’ll give it a try."

Watching her place her thumb on it, and with a beep, the door actually opened.

At that mont, both of them looked like fools with waterlogged brains.

But at least the door was open now.

"You go in first. The room hasn’t been cleaned; you’ll have to tidy up a bit yourself."

However, when Zhang Hao turned on the lights in the house, he found it spotless inside.

It seed as if soone had just cleaned up, while Wen Xia was resetting the password on the door lock; this ti, she set it to her birthday.

After setting the password and turning around again, she noticed the immaculate state of the house, not looking like it had been several months since her last visit.

She slapped her forehead and said with a laugh, "I rember now, because I don’t co back often, I asked a friend to hire a cleaner every once in a while to tidy up for ; it must have been cleaned recently."

"There are two bedrooms in this house; you take the small one, and I’ll take the big one, how about that?"

Right now, Zhang Hao didn’t have the luxury to fuss over such details; any bed where he could sleep would do.

"You go shower first; I’ll go out and get so food to take back. We haven’t eaten all day after all the trouble, and it’s not good to sleep on an empty stomach."

No sooner had Wen Xia left than Zhang Hao imdiately stripped and went to the bathroom. This was his first ti showering at a woman’s ho he wasn’t familiar with.

Zhang Hao didn’t dare to overstep, opting for a quick wash.

Discovered there was no shampoo or shower gel, just a single bar of soap in the soap dish.

Anyway, I’ll go back tomorrow, making do for one night isn’t a big deal, so I used the soap all over my body.

After rubbing so into my hair and rinsing clean, I randomly grabbed a towel to dry off.

Entering the small bedroom, I found it quite cozy, though it couldn’t compare to the master bedroom.

Sitting on the bed, Zhang Hao realized that his phone’s battery was almost dead.

With the rush of leaving, he hadn’t brought a charger and would have to wait for Wen Xia to co back to borrow a charging cable from her.

He had no idea what Wen Xia had gone out to buy, but she was taking a long ti to return.

It wasn’t until drowsiness overca Zhang Hao that he heard the sound of a door opening.

"I’m back."

Zhang Hao, dragging his tired body, ca out from the room, looking at the several bags in Wen Xia’s hands.

Inside, colorful and fragrant with a variety of foods, there were even so braised dishes.

"I didn’t know what you liked, so I just bought so stuff at random, plus I got two dishes, I’ll go get so plates."

At a glance, you could tell from the kitchen’s decor and the look of its use that Wen Xia probably wasn’t good at cooking.

Just as he was thinking that, Wen Xia began to joke about herself, "No matter whether I live here or sowhere else, my cooking skills are pretty terrible."

"But the dinnerware I’ve bought is top-notch; I have no idea when I’ll actually use them."

You could tell that the dinnerware was quite exquisite and certainly not cheap.

Transferring the takeout into the plates made it look even more appealing.

By this ti, Zhang Hao was so sleepy he didn’t feel like talking, but thinking of the effort Wen Xia had put into making sure he had a good al, he forced himself to sit down and eat with her.

"I also bought so alcohol; do you want so? Since you’re flying back tomorrow, there’s no need to drive. A little drink can help you sleep more soundly."

Looking at the two cans of beer, Zhang Hao didn’t hesitate, opened one and watched the foam spray out, quickly catching it with his mouth.

Seeing him in such a frantic state, Wen Xia couldn’t help but laugh, "What’s the rush, slow down."

He ate quickly, unsure of how he even made it back to his room.

But what he hadn’t expected was that the beer would wake him up twice during the night.

The first ti, in a daze; upon returning, it felt as if he had only just laid down before he was up again.

This ti, he had a bit more energy, and he felt better than before.

When he ca out of the bathroom, he happened to pass by Wen Xia’s bedroom.

The bedroom door was ajar, uncertain whether it had been blown open by the wind or left deliberately unclosed.

Zhang Hao took an inadvertent glance and saw Wen Xia with her back to the door, a dim light visible.

From the glow around her head, he listened more closely and could hear so strange noises.

Zhang Hao stood still for a while, as Wen Xia seed engrossed in the content playing on the small screen.

Completely unaware of anyone outside the door.

She had found an unhealthy website, usually an ice queen to strangers.

But in reality, only she knew, she was also a normal woman.

She, too, had physical desires, but she had been singularly focused on her career all these years.

Without putting much thought into romantic relationships.

Even though she knew Zhang Hao was also in her house today, they were in separate rooms.
