Fortunately, Lin Wan reacted quickly and braced herself; upon hearing that sothing was amiss, Zhang Hao turned around.
Seeing the two of them embracing, he asked, "What’s going on?"
"She fainted. Hurry and get soone from surgery to check on her."
Zhang Hao stepped forward and first checked Xu Mi’s pulse, finding it to be very erratic and her lips were pale.
That was when Ling Tong entered; she quickly ca up behind Xu Mi but then looked down and noticed there was blood on the stool.
"Bleeding... she’s bleeding."
Zhang Hao also leaned in for a look and said, "Quick, call surgery, and get gynecology over here too."
Doctors from both departnts hurried over and the initial diagnosis suggested internal bleeding.
Zhang Hao hadn’t expected the situation to be so serious—Xu Mi was here for an internship, how could she have internal bleeding? Had she engaged in any strenuous exercise?
Zhang Hao suddenly rembered what Xu Mi had said and pulled a surgeon aside to a corner.
"She just got a boyfriend a couple of days ago; they probably got a bit crazy. She even asked to help her remove sothing from her body."
"I thought it wasn’t appropriate for to do it as a man, so I wanted to wait for Nurse Lin to take care of it."
"But the two of us had just got back, and she fainted like this in about twenty minutes."
The surgeon, now with an understanding of the situation, discussed it with the gynecologist.
They decided to perform surgery on Xu Mi, but before the operation, her parents had to be there.
However, looking at Xu Mi’s condition, it seed she could not wait that long.
Zhang Hao contacted her parents, and half an hour later they arrived at the hospital.
In front of the operating room, Xu Mi’s parents asked Zhang Hao what exactly happened to their daughter and why she needed surgery all of a sudden.
Zhang Hao didn’t know how to explain, but saving her life was critical, so Xu Mi’s parents still signed the consent form for the surgery.
Not long after, Xu Mi was wheeled out; she was still under anesthesia, but the operation went very smoothly without the anticipated dangers or excitent.
When she woke up, she told her parents the truth about what had happened, and her boyfriend never appeared.
Zhang Hao naturally returned to his own departnt and continued treating patients until late evening, close to finishing his shift.
It was then that he rembered Yu Wei’s words and went to the surgical ward, checking on her aunt.
Yu Wei’s aunt had mostly recovered, but due to heart issues,
the doctor still recomnded that she stay in the hospital for observation for a couple more days to ensure there were no further problems.
The cost for continued observation was not high, so Yu Wei’s aunt agreed.
When she saw Zhang Hao, she was sowhat surprised.
Fortunately, Yu Wei’s uncle recognized Zhang Hao at a glance, and imdiately ca forward and took his hand.
"Young doctor, young doctor, thank you. If it hadn’t been for you that night, my wife would have been in grave danger," he said.
"When she was rushed to the hospital for resuscitation, the doctor was asking if a professional had perford CPR at the scene. You’ve been such a savior for our whole family."
Facing the gratitude of Yu Wei’s uncle, Zhang Hao accepted it with humility.
If he hadn’t been there that night, Yu Wei’s aunt might have had a serious accident.
After work, Zhang Hao left the hospital as usual.
Then he saw that red sports car parked at the hospital entrance again, initially thinking he was mistaken.
Zhang Hao, who had not driven to work, thought he’d have to take a taxi ho that evening.
As he passed in front of the sports car, the driver honked the horn.
Zhang Hao stopped in his tracks and realized that the person in the car was Yu Wei.
She had ntioned going out in the morning and not being in the area for a few days, so why was she here to pick him up from work now?
"Miss Yu, why is it you again?"
"What do you an ’why is it again’? Is it bad that I co to pick you up from work? Otherwise, you’d have to take a taxi ho. Get in the car."
Once again in the red sports car, as he fastened his seatbelt, Zhang Hao suddenly rembered what was said in the chat group.
"Miss Yu, I hope that after this ti you won’t co to drive to work anymore. Otherwise, my colleagues are definitely going to be curious."
"Curious about what? Do they think you’re being kept by a rich woman, or do they also hope to encounter a wealthy girl like , so they can comfortably be kept n?"
Yu Wei had all the good and bad things to say by herself; Zhang Hao really didn’t know how to respond, so he simply chose to remain silent.
"It’s not that serious; I just don’t want to stand out too much."
"How about tonight you accompany to a place and just pretend to be my boyfriend?"
Playing the boyfriend again, Zhang Hao wondered internally, can’t these rich girls find a proper boyfriend?
Before Zhang Hao could refuse, Yu Wei had already made the decision for him.
"I’ll take it as you’ve agreed. When we arrive, you’ll need to change your clothes."
"No matter who asks about you, don’t slip up. You are my boyfriend, got it?"
It was then that Zhang Hao noticed that Yu Wei’s attire was a bit strange that evening.
In the morning, she had been wearing the most basic pants and shirt.
But now, she was in a red dress.
Although the dress was lovely, suiting her fair and delicate skin quite well.
Zhang Hao also couldn’t help but notice her impressive cleavage, making it hard not to wonder if she had any "enhancents."
Before long, the two arrived at their destination.
"A banquet hall? Who are we eting later?"
"An old classmate of mine, it’s her birthday, and we’re going to celebrate, so later, whether it’s a man or a woman asking about you,
you must assert that you’re my boyfriend, even if you have to speak a bit provocatively, I don’t mind."
Seeing how Yu Wei approached the matter, Zhang Hao had no choice but to nod. He had co all this way; how could he not cooperate?
After they entered through the door, Yu Wei and her forr classmates got along heatedly.
"Wei Wei, we thought you weren’t coming today. If it weren’t for constantly holding out here,"
"these rascals would’ve already finished off your favorite bottle of liquor."
Zhang Hao took note of that bottle of liquor—it was expensive, costing him half a month’s salary.
After their warm exchange, the person finally noticed Zhang Hao.
"Wei Wei, could it be that this is the boyfriend you’re always talking about?"
"Yep, my taste isn’t bad this ti, right?"
"Indeed, he’s pretty handso, and looks to have a nice build too. Can he satisfy you... you know?"
Zhang Hao, caught off guard by their bold chatter, couldn’t help coughing twice to ease the awkwardness of the mont.
But those won simply ignored him.
"Not bad at all. Every ti, he makes beg for rcy. If he wasn’t so exceptional in that aspect, I wouldn’t have fallen for him."
"And you, I heard you took a foreigner. Why haven’t you brought him over?"
"Don’t even ntion it; good-looking but not up to par. You have to wonder if that guy’s been with too many won in his own country."
"He was a dead fish every ti, so I kicked him out after half a month."
While they were talking, a woman ca over and brought Zhang Hao a drink.
Zhang Hao was about to say thank you when Yu Wei stepped in front of him and took the drink.
"This ti, there’s nothing in your drink, right? Last ti you tried to drug mine!"
