Eleanor

I couldn't believe it.

I was in a fake relationship with Liam.

I was in a fake relationship with the sa guy that was supposed to fall in love with my best friend.

Oh crap.

What are you doing Eleanor? You're ruining the whole story.

Now how is anything supposed to go as planned when Sofia thinks that Liam and I are in a freaking relationship.

Ugh.

Curse you fate for bringing to this damn fucked up world. And the worst part was Theadora's soul wasn't coming back anyti soon.

I had done my research and apparently according to the rules of reincarnation, Thea's soul was either erased, sent to the afterlife, transferred to another world or even trapped in a void or a dreamlike limbo type shit.

Which ant that there was a possibility that I would be stuck here forever and be forced to live Theadora's life.

Goodness.

"Dori?" The sudden call of my na pulled back to reality and I jerked my head towards the professor standing in front of the classroom before turning to Sofia who sat beside .

"Huh?" I blinked, sowhat confused.

"Stop looking out the window unless Professor Lee is going to know you're not paying attention." Sofia whispered.

"Oh..." I blinked again and my eyes drifted to the corner of the class, locking onto a pair of soft brown eyes that was already staring at .

I always hated the guilt that pooled in my stomach whenever I saw the way Jake looked at .

With love and so much sadness.

But unfortunately I couldn't return his love. I couldn't be that person he wanted to be.

I slowly looked away from him, about to turn my gaze back to the professor but the burning sensation on my neck wouldn't let . And when I turned to see who it was, I regretted it instantly.

There he was in the back of the class, staring at with that unreadable expression of his.

It was a pain I couldn't tell what was going on in that head of his. Like couldn't he just let soone see through him just for once.

I narrowed my eyes at him as a scowl ford on my lips but apparently that only intrigued him. Which ant I had to see that taunting smile of his.

"Ugh." I let out a small sound of disapproval as I turned back to Sofia but little did I know that she had followed my gaze when I was busy glaring at Liam.

I know Liam and I had agreed on being in a fake relationship...ok more like he threatened but moving on...the thing was, I hadn't exactly told Sofia about it.

"So...you and Jake are no longer exchanging glances in class. It's now...." She paused glancing at Liam again. "Him." She said with wrinkles on her forehead.

"It's not what it looks like." My eyes flickered to Liam before darting back to Sofia.

A part of believed I did it involuntarily while the other part believed I was doing this just to get on Liam's nerves. I an I wanted to make it obvious that we were talking about him then maybe he'd think I was telling Sofia sothing she wasn't supposed to know.

I suppressed my grin.

"But I didn't say anything."

"Right." I pursed my lips as I rested my hands on the table. But then I stiffened when I felt Sofia hovering close.

"Dori...if you like him you can tell . I an I totally get it, he helped you when you couldn't walk on your own and now you guys have spent so much ti with each other so..." she trailed off with a small shrug.

The more true her words sounded, the more angrier I got...with myself of course...and Liam too.

This was all his fault.

I glanced at him again and as expected I found him staring at with a sowhat disturbed worried look on his face and that was when I realized that he was too far away from Sofia and I to hear our conversation.

I bit back a smile.

It wouldn't hurt if I ssed with him just a little bit. I an he did deserve it plus we were in class right now so there was no way he could co all the way here.

"Well....there is sothing going on." I smiled nervously knowing very well that Liam was still watching us.

Sofia's eyes lit up and just when she was about to glance at Liam I stopped her and told her not to look at him, but obviously Liam was sharp enough to notice.

I used to hate how dense Sofia could be at tis but right now, the only reason this whole thing was working was because of that so I guess luck was on my side.

"Really. Tell ." She whispered, leaning in with her eyes still on Professor Lee so he wouldn't notice us.

"Well...um. Liam and I are...together." The words felt like a bitter pill on my tongue but I didn't need to show that.

From the way Liam hovered around us, he was probably going to tell her himself one day so there wouldn't be any need hiding it from her.

"Shut. Up." A gasp slipped out of her lips. "You're kidding right?" She asked cupping her mouth with widened eyes and just like I had expected, she glanced at Liam's direction.

Perfect.

Now I just had to wait till class was over and watch the drama unfold. I made a ntal reminder to read about the fall of the Byzantine Empire and its Impact on Europe since I wasn't exactly paying attention in class and after what had felt like forever, Professor Lee finally dismissed the class and we were free. Only for a few minutes though, but it still counted I guess.

I was patiently waiting for the mont Liam was going to march up to and demand I tell him what Sofia and I were talking about in class but that mont never ca.

Yes he kept peering at . But other than that, he didn't say anything. And to be honest it was disappointing, I an, he got on my nerves all the ti and this ti I thought I had done the sa but it seems I was wrong.

I decided to spend the rest of the day glued to Sofia's side and telling her made up stories about Liam and I so she would keep staring at Liam and making shocked faces but nothing was working.

All he did was stare at .

Damn it.

I wasn't giving up until I got a reaction out of him. He wasn't the only person who was good at annoying people.

I'll show him.

I let out a frustrated sigh as I trailed behind Sofia, listening to her ramble about why I kept my relationship with Liam away from her or sothing like that.

I was busy searching for a reply when one of her other friends ca along asking her sothing about their previous class together and I seized the opportunity to slip away.

I just needed a minute to clear my head. The halls were still buzzing with students, but I barely registered them as I turned a corner, my footsteps echoing lightly against the floor.

The fluorescent lights overhead flickered slightly, and the further I walked, the quieter my surroundings beca.

The second I pushed open a door, the familiar chill of solitude settled over . Finally. A mont to breathe.

Or so I thought.

Because the instant I stepped inside, I caught a movent in the corner of my eye and my body froze instantly.

Slowly, my eyes flickered to the mirror in front of .

And there, reflected in the dim lighting, stood Liam.

I swerved around to yell at him for doing sothing so ridiculous but he imdiately covered the distance between us in two strides and cupped my mouth, that is after bolting the door of course.

What the hell was he thinking following into the girls' bathroom?

Didn't he understand what the word privacy ant?
