As Michael watched, "Wendy" took off her cardigan.

She reached out to take Michael’s shirt off with a smile. Bashfully, she purred, "Michael, let’s go to sleep."

From "Wendy’s" actions as well as her tone, Michael was sure she did not an sleep as in the usual aning of the word, asleep.

As expected, she fluidly pushed Michael down onto the bed with her next move.

Seeing that she was about to pull his shirt off, Michael grabbed hold of her hands and said, "Wendy, you’re pregnant."

"Don’t you want to?" "Wendy" murmured sensually as she pulled her hand out from Michael’s grasp and trailed her fingers over his stomach.

"You’re pregnant. We can’t..." Michael shook his head at "Wendy".

"I’m almost three months along, it’ll be okay," "Wendy" insisted, "Michael, we’ll just be gentler, it should be okay."

She then continued undressing.

Michael was about to say sothing when his gaze fell on a spot above her left breast.

His expression suddenly turned cold.

Reaching out to grab "Wendy’s" hand tightly, Michael questioned, "What happened to the mole on your chest?"

"Wendy’s" first reaction upon his question was to cover her chest with her free hand.

Mole?

Wendy had a mole on her chest?

Christian did not tell her that! However, it was understandable that Christian did not know about that mole since it was located at a relatively private place.

Thinking quickly, "Wendy" forced a smile, and made up a story. "Oh, I lasered the mole away. I didn’t like it so I got rid of it.

"You got rid of it?" Michael tried his best to remain calm when he heard her answer.

Evenly, he asked, "Did you do it while you were accompanying at the hospital? It was on your chest and not usually visible. People won’t see it anyway so I thought it wouldn’t matter. I thought it was nice, though. I liked it."

"Well..." "Wendy" was stumped for a mont.

It would be really weird if she answered in the affirmative.

With Wendy’s character, there was no way she would get a mole lasered off while Michael was hospitalized.

She had had that mole for such a long ti, wouldn’t it be strange if she suddenly thought to get it removed?

After thinking about it, "Wendy" answered, "No, I got it done a while ago. It’s obvious you don’t pay enough attention to ! You didn’t even notice that it was gone."

"It’s my fault. I must have been neglecting you," Michael played along, "Tell , when did you do it?"

Michael’s unrelenting questions flustered "Wendy".

How should she answer?

If she said she had it done a long ti ago, then Michael would definitely have noticed.

After all, they were together everyday.

If she said she had just gotten it done, it wouldn’t be believable since she had been accompanying Michael in the hospital the past few days.

Since she couldn’t figure out how best to answer the question, she decided to simply not answer.

With a smile, she said, "It’s getting late, we better get to sleep."

She had planned to get intimate with Michael tonight. It seed that was no longer possible.

Thus "Wendy" lay down on her side of the bed and got ready to sleep.

Michael had had enough.

He reached out and roughly pulled her up to a sitting position. His gaze cold and steely, he forced her to et his eyes. Enunciating each word slowly, Michael said, "Wendy does not have a mole on her chest at all!"

...

Wendy did not have a mole on her chest at all!

The words echoed in the ears of ’Wendy’. If she still did not understand what that ant, she had to be an idiot.

Michael had tricked her.

"Who are you?" demanded Michael as he stared intently at the woman seated opposite him.

She looked and sounded exactly like Wendy. Even her mannerisms were like Wendy’s.

If ’Wendy’ had not tried to get intimate with him, he would not have been so sure that sothing was wrong.

The real Wendy would not put her baby at risk.

Besides, she had always been reserved when it ca to such matters. She had never taken the initiative.

After she got pregnant, her health had always been poor. There was no way she would have spoken so frivolously about their baby’s safety.

Originally, Michael had only tested her because he thought sothing might have happened to her.

Perhaps she had mory issues, or sothing had happened to the baby, and she had not told them because she did not want to worry them.

Her earlier actions made Michael think of sothing horrifying. He realized she might not be Wendy, but an imposter!

He hadn’t expected that she would give herself away with just a simple trick.

"What are you talking about, Michael?" ’Wendy’ forced herself to remain calm. She said, "I... I used to have a mole on my chest, but I don’t rember when I got it lasered away. It was probably long ago, so long ago that... you forgot."

Her voice faded out towards the end. She knew the excuse was a little too unconvincing. However, she did not want to give up just like that. Once she admitted that she didn’t know about the mole, the jig would be up.

"Really?" Michael hoped it was true that he had forgotten. He took a deep breath and decided to give ’Wendy’ another chance. He asked, "This is sothing that only and Wendy know. If you know, then I will believe that you are Wendy, but if you don’t..." Michael didn’t finish the sentence.

He was afraid, he feared that if it turned out that the woman in this room was not Wendy, then where would his beloved Wendy be?

He hoped it was just him overthinking things.

"What?" ’Wendy’ gulped as she grasped for straws. She knew there was little chance that she would know of the matter that Michael referred to.

"Leah and Jake took your last na and they’ve kept it, even now. We talked about letting this baby take my last na, Lucas, and you agreed, correct?" Michael paid close attention to her eyes, taking note of every little change in her expression.

’Wendy’ nodded.

She did not know if she should nod or not, but she had no ti to think. Michael’s expression was so serious that If she hesitated, he would be suspicious.

All she could do was nod.

There was a fifty percent chance that nodding was the correct response.

If she hesitated or did not answer, Michael would know imdiately that she was an imposter.

"Tell , what did we na the baby?" Michael’s fists were clenched tight.

When ’Wendy’ nodded, he had already lost all hope that this might be his Wendy.

They had never discussed the matter of the children’s nas.

The woman in front of him was not Wendy Stewart.

"Na..." ’Wendy’ dared not et Michael’s gaze. Her eyes darted around, looking everywhere except at him. How was she to know what na they had decided upon?

Then it dawned upon her that this may very well be a trick question as well.

...

"Michael, have we really discussed this before?" "Wendy" made a last ditch attempt to absolve herself. "My mory hasn’t been too good ever since I got pregnant. You know this pregnancy has been hard on , I really do not have the energy to think about so many things."

"Wendy" planned to make Michael drop the question by playing the pity card.

However, no matter what "Wendy" said now, Michael had already co to his own conclusion. He was certain that she was not Wendy Stewart.

Her intentions in trying to make him feel sorry for her were obvious.

Previously, before he suspected her identity, he would have gone along with her and been sympathetic.

Now that he had doubts about her however, he wasn’t going to get distracted by her words.

Grabbing the woman’s hand roughly, he pushed her forcefully onto the ground.

Glaring at her angrily, he shouted, "Where is Wendy? What have you done with her?

Also, who are you exactly?"

"Michael, what do you an?" On the ground, "Wendy’s" eyes grew red and then she held her belly. Looking miserable, she asked, "I am Wendy, don’t you recognize your own wife?"

"Drop the act. It’s true that you look like Wendy, but no matter how much you look like her, the fact remains that you are not Wendy!"

Michael hobbled to the woman on the ground and sized her up from above. He asked again, "Now, tell the truth and I might leave you your life."

"Michael..." "Wendy" persisted, unwilling to admit otherwise, "I am your wife, Wendy Stewart."

"You won’t talk?" Since "Wendy" refused to admit it, Michael did not want to continue wasting his ti with her.

He looked around for his cellphone. Rembering that he left it outside, he hobbled his way out of the room.

Unexpectedly, once he opened the bedroom door, "Wendy" dashed out.

Since she had been found out, there was no sense in her staying. She would likely lose her life.

When he saw "Wendy" running past him, Michael reached out instinctively to hold her back.

However, since his leg was injured, when "Wendy" forcefully shrugged his hand off, he lost his balance and fell.

"Wendy" took the opportunity to run out of the house.

Jake, Leah and Zess heard the commotion and ca out of their rooms to see what was going on.

Seeing Michael on the floor, Jake imdiately started running over, wanting to help him up.

However, Michael pointed at his phone on the coffee table and yelled, "My phone, hurry, give my phone!"

Once Michael got the phone, he imdiately called Mr. York. In a rush, he said, "A woman just ran out of my house. Hurry up, have so n bring her back!"

Then, as an afterthought, he said, "Wendy, get Wendy back here!"

That woman looked exactly like Wendy. It would make things easier for Mr. York and his n if they knew who they were supposed to be looking for.

Mr. York was surprised by Michael’s tone and asked without thinking, "Why did Mrs.

Lucas run out?"

"Just do it!" Michael had neither the ti nor the inclination to explain things to his assistant.

"Yes, Mr. Lucas." Mr. York imdiately got to rounding up n for the job the mont he ended the call.

Jake went over to Michael and tried to help him up when he saw his father hang up the phone. However, he was young and not strong enough. In the end, Zess had to help Michael up and onto the couch.

The atmosphere was strangely intense, but neither Jake nor Zess comnted on it.

Leah was the only one who stared at the door wide-eyed. She asked, "Daddy, did you quarrel with Mummy? Why did Mummy run out of the house?"
