"Your leg..." Wendy sighed and asked worriedly, "What did the doctor say before?"

"It’s nothing serious. You don’t have to worry," Michael said calmly.

"You’ve been injured so badly, and it’s still nothing serious?" Wendy drove a bit faster.

When she attended to Michael’s wound a while ago, she saw how hideous it was.

It was about 10 centiters long, and she didn’t have the chance to look closely at how deep it was because she might hurt Michael.

Winnie could actually do sothing like that.

"No bones were hurt," Michael dismissed nonchalantly. "It’s good that I have a thick thigh. It’s just a wound that will heal in ti."

Michael could still walk on his own, so he didn’t take the wound too seriously.

However, such a large wound was still shocking to see.

"You should work less at the company for a while and deal with what you can at ho. If you need to go anywhere, let Mr. York go." Wendy sighed. She couldn’t help but think of her own work situation.

She didn’t seem to be doing much better.

If Michael knew that she had been hospitalized twice due to fatigue and low blood sugar levels, he would probably be worried to death.

He might even order her to stay in Lake City and not allow her to go to HG.

"I’ll do whatever you want to." Michael’s expression softened a bit when he heard Wendy’s concerned voice.

They soon reached the hospital.

Wendy assisted Michael as a doctor approached them to treat his wound.

The doctor didn’t expect Michael to co back today after he left the hospital yesterday.

When he saw his wound, he couldn’t help but say, "Mr. Lucas, I explained yesterday that you should pay more attention and refrain from walking if you can. Although the wound is not as deep as to injure so muscles, it is not shallow. Why did it worsen?"

Wendy felt a little guilty when she heard this.

If she hadn’t run away in anger, Michael wouldn’t have chased her.

However, it was also his fault.

Why did he go back to the mansion and eat with Yonina?

"Is he seriously injured?" Wendy asked the doctor.

"It’s not that serious, so he’ll be fine after a few days or so. But if the wound doesn’t close and eventually heal, it will be hard to say." The doctor shook his head and said,

"With such a wound, if it’s infected and inflad, it will be a big problem. Mr. Lucas,

you should pay more attention to it. Don’t disregard it."

"I know," Michael replied indifferently.

Wendy’s cell phone rang.

She looked at it and saw that it was Jill calling.

She excused herself to take the call.

"Sis, you’re back, aren’t you?" Jill sounded excited. "Where are you now? I want to see you. There’s just sothing I want to talk to you about."

"I’m at the hospital."

"Hospital? Did sothing happen to you?"

"It’s not , but Michael."

"Didn’t Mr. Lucas hurt his leg two days ago? What happened now? I’m telling you,

his mother is strange."

When Wendy heard this, she pursed her lips and didn’t know what to say.

Jill then continued, "I’m going to the hospital."

Wendy glanced at Michael, whose wound had just been being treated. It would take so ti before the doctor finished attending to his wound.

"Okay, co on over."

After hanging up, Wendy returned to Michael’s side, carefully watching the doctor treat his wounds.

When Wendy attended to Michael’s wound, she was careful not to hurt him.

Now that the doctor was cleaning his wound, Wendy realized that Michael’s injury was even deeper than she had imagined.

She was afraid to look at it and complained in a low voice, "Your mother is so cruel..."

When the doctor heard Wendy’s complaint, he was astonished and said, "Your mother did it?"

The doctor felt as if he had heard so gossip, and his focus wavered.

Michael clenched his teeth in pain. He raised his good leg to kick the doctor and said, "Can’t you do it less painfully?"

Dr. Lawrence was Michael’s friend.

They used to go to the sa school.

As they grew up, Dr. Lawrence beca interested in dical science, while Michael took up a business course.

Later on, the two of them had less interaction.

Dr. Lawrence had studied abroad and only recently returned not long ago.

Hence, he was interested to be in the know about Michael’s personal life.

"Well, well..." Dr. Lawrence suddenly looked at Wendy, grinning, as he treated Michael’s wound. "What’s the situation? Co on, tell about it."

Wendy got confused. She thought, ’Do doctors gossip in front of their patients? Is he an acquaintance of Michael’s?’

"Milo Lawrence, a classmate from elentary school," Michael introduced indifferently.

Hearing Michael’s words, Wendy smiled and nodded as she said, "So you’re Michael’s classmate."

No wonder she dared to gossip in front of Michael.

Wendy greeted him with a polite "hello".

"You’re Wendy, right?" Milo lifted his head, looking at Wendy for a mont, and said, "I’ve seen your picture before, and you look much prettier in person."

"Of course, my wife looks pretty." When Michael heard Milo complint Wendy, he rolled his eyes at him.

"Mr. Lucas, do you have to react so strongly when I complint your wife? It’s not like I’m going to steal your wife," Milo teased him.

It was okay if he didn’t say this, but as soon as he said it, Michael frowned.

In the beginning, that man who had been pining for Wendy said the sa thing.

Of course, Michael had nothing against Milo and knew he was not such a person.

However, this kind of complint reminded him of his brother.

Milo had been abroad for a long ti and did not know much about things at ho.

But he was not stupid and sensed that sothing wasn’t right.

He imdiately changed the subject and said, "Tell about why your mother dealt with you so cruelly? Is it because she found out that you owe a beating?"

Michael raised his hand and slapped him on the back of the head.

Milo wailed.

"My relationship with you is not good enough to be nosy about family matters," Michael explained with a sullen expression on his face.

"Then is it too late to foster a better relationship?" Milo deliberately said, "Or I’ll foster a relationship with Wendy and ask her for gossip."

"You really deserve to be beaten!" Michael said, raising his voice. "If I had known you needed a beating so much, you should have died abroad and never co back for the rest of your life."

Michael raised his hand and was about to hit Milo again.

Milo stood up and said, "It’s done."

Michael looked at Milo and frowned slightly.

Did he just tease him on purpose to distract him?

Michael slowly put down his hand.

As Wendy watched them banter, her gaze softened a bit.

"Finish these IV fluids, and tomorrow, if the wound is not inflad and infected, you can rest at ho," Milo told Michael. "If an inflammation appears, you must co to the hospital and see ."

Milo then turned to look at Wendy and said, "Michael can be stubborn. Keep an eye on him."

Wendy nodded and thanked him.

Tomorrow, she was actually going back to Rheinsville City.

She was afraid she wouldn’t be able to help with that.

"I need to get an IV?" Michael asked, frowning. "You’re getting back at on purpose, aren’t you? "

"Don’t be such a baby," Milo sneered. "You are too arrogant and bossy. You used to bully as a child before, and that’s why you’re afraid of retaliating against you."

"I..."

Before Michael could say anything, Milo continued, "I have to get going. I need to deal with other patients. Just wait here, and a nurse will co later for your IV."

After saying that, Milo left.

Soon, Jill ca in.

When Jill saw Wendy, she excitedly hugged her. "Sis, you’re finally back! I can’t believe that it has only been a month. I missed you so much. I didn’t get to see you before you left last ti."

"You went to MC for training. If I t with you back then, it would be a waste of your father’s efforts." Wendy smiled.

Jill was like a little sister to her.

"Following you is the only reason I’m willing to stay." Jill let go of Wendy and spoke with so dissatisfaction, "Ronald is a nobody. I wouldn’t want to work a day as his subordinate."

"What’s wrong with him?" Wendy reached out and stroked her hair around her ears.

"He can’t bully you, can he?"

"He’s not bullying ." Jill looked helpless and disappointed. "But he’s scared of my dad and doesn’t dare to let do anything. Everything is done by other people. I, the assistant, is completely useless."

"Isn’t that what you want?" Wendy smiled. "You always said you were too tired and too busy working with , and now you have a very easy job."

"That’s not the sa." Jill held Wendy’s hand and said seriously, "You know I don’t like designing, and a design assistant is even more of a torture for . I like music, and I ca to you this ti to talk about it."

"What do you want to do?" Wendy said, eager to hear Jill’s answer.

"I want to leave my job. I’m going to pursue my dream." Jill’s eyes glowed when she said the word ’dream’. "You’re not at MC anymore anyway, and my dad won’t let go back. There happens to be a talent show recently, and I want to join in it. Sis, you will support , won’t you?"

Wendy frowned. She didn’t know whether she should support Jill’s plan or not.

When Jill saw that Wendy didn’t say anything, she looked down at the two children sitting quietly on the side and asked them with a smile, "Leah, Jake, do you guys support ?"

Jake didn’t say anything.

Leah smiled, raised her hand, and imdiately said, "Yes!"

Leah stood up, ran to Jill, and said, "Miss Jill, you like music and I like to dance. In the future, when I grow up, you can sing and I can dance. Let’s form a group, okay?"
