Christian’s words infuriated Wendy.

He simply wanted her to wear the ring, so it hardly made a difference which finger she wore it on.

She just had to wear it for a while.

Wendy kept consoling herself deep down.

Wendy slipped the ring onto her ring finger on her left hand as Christian watched.

"Happy now?"

Christian nodded with a smile on his face.

"Now give it back to ." Wendy extended her hand once more.

Christian lowered his head and checked his pocket. After a while, he looked at her and said, "I think I placed it in the luggage that was

checked in."

"What the!" Wendy was so furious that she cursed.

She removed the ring and wanted to throw it at Christian once more.

Christian promptly said, "You had better take good care of my ring. You have to use it to exchange for yours."

Wendy breathed heavily, trying to pacify her anger.

She held the ring tightly as she yelled in anger and frustration, "Christian, what on earth is wrong with you? Can’t you go harass soone else? Stop this! Does it make you feel good to make fun of ?"

Many passengers were awakened by the commotion.

"Hey! Mind keeping it down? Can’t you be a little more considerate?"

"People are trying to sleep here. What’s going on with you?"

"Continue with your argunt when we land!"

.... Wendy was embarrassed.

She was shaking in anger when she caught

Christian with a sardonic smile.

A flight attendant approached them.

She walked up to Wendy who was standing beside Christian. Even though she did not like Wendy, she spoke courteously, "Miss, please go back to your seat and keep it down so this can be a pleasant flight for everyone."

Wendy glared at Christian before returning to her seat.

She sat down and closed her eyes.

The plane finally landed 10 hours later.

Wendy got into a huge fight with Christian on the plane, and she had no choice but to do what he wanted. She had to wait for him to collect his bags and give her ring back.

Christian saw Wendy following him behind as he walked up ahead. A smile appeared on his face.

He walked over to the baggage collection area, and Wendy was a few steps away from him.

Before long, Christian’s phone rang.

Wendy could not make out what he was saying over the phone.

Then Wendy’s phone rang. It was Todd calling.

The mont the call got through, Todd said, "You must have already arrived."

"Uh-huh. I just got off the flight," Wendy replied briefly.

"Okay. You take care."

"Thanks."

Todd was just calling to check on her. He just wanted to make sure that Wendy arrived at Lake City safely.

After hanging up, Wendy turned to glance at Christian. He was still on the phone.

Since the luggage had yet to arrive, Wendy took out her phone and checked the news.

She had read about Collins Group’s recent situation on the flight, so she ran a search.

A few seconds later, search results about Collins Group appeared.

Wendy went through them quickly and got a rough idea of what happened to the said company.

Collins Group was about to go bankrupt... thanks to DR Group.

Wendy glanced at Christian nearby and frowned.

"How could DR Group have the money to pull that off?" she muttered to herself.

anwhile, Christian had hung up and started to walk out.

Wendy hurriedly put away her phone and followed him.

Christian’s pace quickened, so Wendy had to keep up.

"Christian!" Wendy shouted from behind.

The airport was crowded, so Wendy had a hard ti catching up with Christian.

He seed to be doing it deliberately.

Every ti they started to get further apart, he slowed down a little.

Wendy ended up running behind him.

Wendy called out to him, to no avail.

She kept following him until they reached the exit.

Wendy saw soone pick up Christian, and they were in the middle of a conversation.

Wendy was afraid Christian would just drive off without returning her ring.

Also, she was here to see Michael and their children. She had to get the ring back before she left the airport. Otherwise, it would be troubleso to retrieve her ring.

Wendy hurriedly went over but ended up catching sight of Zen.

Zen was rather surprised to see her. "Wendy?"

Zen suddenly looked at Christian before looking at Wendy and scoffed, "Mr. Lucas, Rheinsville City..."

Zen knew what Christian wanted. She also knew what Wendy was like.

Wendy would not betray Michael.

However, she could not help but sound sarcastic when she saw them coming out of the airport one after another.

Wendy realized Zen had misunderstood, so she quickly explained, "Zen, it is not what you think."

Zen was clearly annoyed.

Christian did not tell anyone about his trip to Rheinsville City. Why did Zen know about this?

Zen knew that he visited Rheinsville City every year.

In the past, she had no idea why. Now that Wendy was alive and she just celebrated her birthday, she quickly connected the dots and realized what he was doing there.

Zen was not only at the airport to pick up Christian. She was also there to mock him.

All these years, Zen and Christian had been this way.

Christian wanted Wendy badly, but she was his sister-in-law.

The mont Zen caught Christian thinking about Wendy or doing anything for Wendy, she would deliberately ridicule and agitate him.

Zen was not doing it just to mock Christian. She did it to constantly remind Christian that Wendy was his older brother’s wife.

This ti, Zen ca to pick him up so that she could mock him for secretly running off to Rheinsville City but coming back empty-handed.

Unfortunately, she saw Wendy trailing behind him.

Wendy clenched her fists tightly.

Wendy did not know how to explain things to Zen.

Then again, Wendy had no reason to explain things to Zen.

Wendy sighed. She reached her hands out to Christian and said, "Give my ring!"

"I have sothing urgent to attend to. Can’t you see I’m leaving without even taking my luggage?" Christian said as he strode off.

Wendy grabbed him, but she ended up getting dragged so distance.

"Christian, please! Give back my ring!" Wendy felt helpless.

"I will get my assistant to collect the luggage. Then I will give you the ring," Christian replied casually.

It was impossible for Wendy to wait for Christian’s assistant to collect the luggage and return her ring.

After leaving the airport, Wendy had no reason to et with Christian.

To begin with, they were not close.

Also, Christian was a ruthless and cunning man.

Wendy kept begging him for the ring and even wore his ring just like he asked, but he kept coming up with excuses.

Moreover, Wendy suspected he did not have any luggage.

He only spent a day at Rheinsville City. Why would he need to bring any luggage?

Even if he did, it probably only contained two sets of outfits. Did he have to check in his luggage?

Wendy was back for two days, so she only brought a few clothes and toiletries, and it was hardly enough to fill a small suitcase.

Wendy would not have approached Christian if he had not taken the wedding ring Michael had given her.

Wendy bit her lip and sneered, "Aren’t you going to give my ring back to ?"

Then Wendy raised her hand and threw the ring at Christian. "I don’t want the damned ring anymore!"

The airport was busy at this hour, so it was jampacked.

The ring disappeared the mont she threw it.

Wendy pulled her luggage and left.

Zen crossed her arms and scoffed as she watched Wendy leave, "I thought you finally succeeded this ti. I didn’t expect you to end up even more embarrassed. If things were going to end up so ugly, you should have just kept your distance and watched her from afar, right?"

Christian knew Zen was here to mock him.

He glanced at Zen coldly before saying, "Are you any better than ?"

Although Zen had heard him said this a thousand tis, she could not help but be annoyed.

Zen forced a smile.

He was right. Was she any better than him?

Christian turned to leave the airport.

Wendy hailed a cab as soon as she was out of the airport.

As the taxi drove off, she lowered her head to look at her empty hand. She had worn the ring for so ti, and it had left a sowhat fair mark on her finger.

Wendy curved her fingers slightly as she tried to calm herself.

Before long, she got ho. It was noon.

It was Saturday, and Leah and Jake were ho.

Wendy rang the doorbell.

Zess had just finished making lunch and was setting the table.

Jake put away his book and got up from the couch to answer the door. He checked the peephole before he opened it.

The mont he saw Wendy, his eyes lit up.

He opened the door imdiately and called Leah, "Leah! Leah! Mommy’s back!"

"Really?" Leah was watching cartoons. The mont she heard what her brother said, she ran over instantly.

Since she was too anxious, she tripped.

Wendy hurriedly put down her luggage to help Leah up.

Leah disregarded the pain and said, "Mommy... Mommy... Boohoo..."

Wendy was startled when Leah cried and quickly checked on her. "Did you get hurt?

Let have a look."

Wendy examined Leah, and she discovered a small graze on Leah.

She was worried that Leah could have a fracture, so she hurriedly asked, "Does it hurt? Are you able to stand?"

Leah shook her head and reached her hands out to wipe her tears. "It doesn’t hurt at all. It doesn’t hurt now that Mommy is around."
