"Like your sister?" Wendy quietly mumbled to herself, but she recalled what Winnie had told her.

She said that Michael had a woman he loved dearly. He was willing to break all ties with his family for her.

Was that woman not Yvonne Taylor?

Wendy had wanted to keep that incident in her heart and not bring it up, but she also realized that she could not help thinking about that incident.

She decided to ask Michael about it.

Wendy put down her cutlery and looked up at Michael, her face and tone serious.

"Michael, do you have a lover whom you love so much that you wanted to file for divorce and leave for her?"

"Lover?" Michael froze montarily and then laughed. "I don’t have a lover."

Wendy examined Michael’s eyes closely as if she was trying to read sothing from them.

"Wendy, all you had was a nightmare last night. Don’t keep dwelling on it," Michael said. His heart was in a panic, but he kept a straight face.

He walked over to Wendy and sat down on the stool next to her and put his arm over her shoulders. He said to her gently, "If I were to really have a lover, why would I bring you ho, right? You may have amnesia, but you should have been able to see and feel for yourself that our relationship does not have any problems."

There was no problem with what Michael said.

If Michael were to really have wanted to divorce Wendy for his lover, then he would not be this kind to Wendy.

However, Wendy kept feeling a knot in her heart, and she could not be at ease.

Sohow, the na Yvonne Taylor made her feel anxious.

"Don’t worry," Michael assured her. "There is no other woman. I promise. I, Michael Lucas, will be satisfied with you, Leah, and Jake for the rest of my life."

Wendy continued to look into Michael’s eyes and did not notice any deceit. She let out a small sigh of relief.

"Finish your breakfast. Once we’re done, let’s send Leah and Jake to school together," Michael said. "I don’t have work today, so I can spend ti with you at ho."

"I’m okay. You can do your own stuff. I’ll be fine." Wendy looked down and said a little apologetically, "I was being oversensitive." Blinking, Wendy continued, "You should go to work after breakfast. I’ll send the children to school."

"I’ll go with you then," Michael insisted.

Wendy nodded but did not say anything.

Leah and Jake had also woken up, so Michael went to help them get dressed and eat breakfast.

After Wendy had finished her breakfast, she went back to the room, pulled out the drawer, and took her dicine. The doctor had instructed her to take one a day. Without any hesitation, she swallowed her dicine with water as she had always done so.

She hoped to regain her mory soon.

Michael had planned to hang out with Wendy and walk around after dropping their children off at school.

However, Wendy insisted that he went to work, so he had no choice but to leave.

Once Michael had reached his office, Mr. York knocked on the door and walked in.

Michael had his head lowered while reading the docunts in his hand, waiting for Mr. York to go through the day’s work schedule.

Then Michael realized that Mr. York continued to stand there though he had finished going through the day’s work schedule.

Michael looked up and asked, "Is there anything else?"

"Yes, but it’s not related to work," Mr. York replied. He was still hesitating whether he should let Michael know.

"You’ve been working for for so many years," Michael replied. "How could you not know what needs to be said or not?"

"This is a personal matter." Mr. York placed the envelope he was holding on Michael’s desk.

Mr. York had been working for Michael for so many years and naturally knew what he should and should not do.

The envelope that he had placed on Michael’s desk was important.

Michael glanced at Mr. York and heard him say, "You should take a look at this."

Michael picked up the envelope and emptied a stack of photographs.

The photographs fell onto the desk.

Michael picked up the photograph that had landed right on top of the pile.

At a glance, he could tell that it was Wendy’s back view.

The photograph in his hand showed Wendy with another man at a cafe.

The man’s face was blocked by Wendy and could not be seen clearly.

Michael imdiately picked up the other photographs strewn on the desk. The second photograph showed that man giving Wendy flowers. The third one showed that man bending his arm on Wendy’s thigh. The fourth one was of that man and Wendy in front of a hotel’s entrance together.

And the most scandalous was a photograph of Wendy and that man lying together in bed. Wendy was wearing a sheer sleeping robe...

Michael held the photograph, and his hands started to shake.

He spoke to Mr. York without looking at him, "Where did you get these from?"

Michael’s voice was so low that he sounded frightening.

"I found them in my car early this morning." Mr. York had gotten into his car to drive to work and did not expect to find these photographs inside.

He deliberated for a long ti whether he should report them to Michael. He finally decided that it was better for Michael to know since it concerned Wendy.

"Investigate the source of these photographs and find out who the man is." Michael pursed his lips together, trying very hard to calm himself down. "Also, check where Wendy has been to these past few days."

Michael closed his eyes. He could not wrap his head around what he had just seen.

"Yes," Mr. York said, nodding.

Mr. York turned around and was about to leave when he thought of sothing. He paused and said to Michael, "Mr. Lucas, please don’t get angry yet. I think this is not a simple matter. I don’t believe Mrs. Lucas to be of such character."

"Do your investigation first," Michael replied as calmly as he could.

Mr. York let out a sigh and walked out of Michael’s office. Of course, Michael knew that this was out of Wendy’s character.

She might have amnesia, but her character would not have changed.

In the past, Michael had stubbornly believed that Wendy was having an affair with Christian and beca suspicious of her. Michael had also suspected that the baby she was expecting was not his.

Since then, five years have passed. Michael would not believe that Wendy was having an affair based on re photographs.

After all, there was no other evidence besides these photographs.

If it were soone stalking Wendy who took these photographs, that sort of person would most certainly be a blackmailer. But Michael had neither received any contact details nor bank information. If nobody contacted him or Wendy, that would an that this person’s motive was not money.

And if money was the motive, this person would have been able to blackmail more money by sending these photographs to Wendy instead.

As Wendy’s husband, Michael could get angry after seeing these photographs, file for divorce, and refuse to pay a single cent.

So while blackmail was a possibility, it was quite a low one.

If it were not for money, then the one who sent these photographs wanted to destroy Michael’s relationship with Wendy.

Two nas imdiately ca to Michael’s mind. They were the ones who did not want Michael and Wendy to be together the most... Winnie and Christian.

Michael would not be as upset if the culprit were Christian. But if it were his own mother... Michael did not dare to think of that possibility.
