Chapter 212: Chapter 192: Revenge for the Grudge Chapter 212: Chapter 192: Revenge for the Grudge She had only taken three or four steps when Chu Yu suddenly rembered sothing, hastily stepping back. She picked up the longsword she had confiscated from Yue Jiefei’s waist and slowly probed it, sheathed, towards Tian Rujing’s shoulder, touching it slightly to see if there was any reaction. seeing none, she poked harder.

Still no response.

Chu Yu dropped the sword and then approached. Tian Rujing was lying on his side on the soft carpet, a few strands of black hair had fallen from his delicate jade haircrown, gently brushing over his handso face.

Chu Yu squatted next to him, turning his body face-up by supporting his shoulder, and then began to scrutinize him closely.

Tian Rujing’s eyes were tightly shut, his eyelids hiding his cold and rciless gaze. His feather-fan-like eyelashes seed to tremble slightly. Chu Yu was startled, thinking he was about to wake up, and hastily stepped back a few steps. After a mont, seeing that Tian Rujing remained motionless, she approached him again.

Tian Rujing lay quietly. If not for the rise and fall of his chest and his breathing at the tip of his nose proving he was still alive, he would seem entirely deceased.

This ti, she could finally be certain she had succeeded.

Even though she had made many preparations beforehand, the fact that things had proceeded so smoothly made Chu Yu irresistibly feel as though “Is that really it?”

It seed… too easy.

It felt almost like a dream.

But regardless of how dreamlike, this was reality in front of her eyes. Seeing Tian Rujing unconscious, Chu Yu suddenly felt joy. She cautiously reached out to gently poke his pale cheek, her fingertips sinking slightly into the fine skin, a soft, smooth, elastic sensation transmitting through her fingers.

This guy had caused her current plight, and now he was finally in her hands!

Thinking of how she could now do whatever she wished to Tian Rujing, Chu Yu felt an inexplicable thrill.

Finally, your day has co too!

While pondering silently in her mind, Chu Yu poked Tian Rujing’s cheek with more force, leaving a red mark, then moved to another spot to continue poking.

Poke, poke.

Poke, poke, poke.

After pinching out seven or eight pretty little red spots on Tian Rujing’s refined face and tying his hair into over ten little braids, Chu Yu felt satisfied and held back her impulse to continue playing, deciding to tend to the serious matter at hand.

Although she had great confidence in Jiran’s sedatives, it was best not to lose herself completely.

Walking to a nearby cabinet, she took out a pair of gloves and large boots. Chu Yu examined them carefully, bent down, and slipped the boots over her shoe-wearing feet before finally putting on one of the gloves.

Both the gloves and boots were specially made for her; the gloves were sewn from double-layer deer leather with a layer of cotton fabric in between, while the boots were also made of leather with hardwood soles, specially made very thick.

All these were insulating materials.

Chu Yu had initially thought about using rubber, but the rubber trees were likely located in the regions of Guangdong and Yunnan, and going there to obtain and process it would be troubleso and ti-consuming, and success was not guaranteed, so she discarded that idea.

Taking a deep breath, Chu Yu, wearing the deer leather gloves, touched Tian Rujing’s wrist, carefully lifting his sleeve to reveal the object of her long-standing desire.

The anachronistic item silently rested on Tian Rujing’s slender wrist, its silver circular edges flowing with a fine and cold brilliance, with a blood-red gemstone embedded in the center, beautiful and transparent, like solidified blood.

It sat there quietly, unassuming when not in use; no one would know the terrifying power it possessed.

Chu Yu held down Tian Rujing’s arm with one hand, her palm feeling his warm skin. She paused, then pressed down firmly. With the gloved hand, she gripped the edge of the bracelet, carefully pulling it outward.

The removal process went smoothly, only encountering so resistance when it passed over the breadth of Tian Rujing’s palm. But with a bit more force, Chu Yu completely pulled it off.

Tian Rujing’s thumb where it connected with the palm was slightly red from rubbing, with a bit of broken skin. After a while, a few tiny droplets of blood oozed from the broken area.

However, Chu Yu didn’t notice this, she seed to have completed a major project as she exhaled slowly after holding her breath for so long, then appeared eager to study her spoils of war.

Chu Yu still didn’t dare to touch the bracelet directly with her hands, but if she didn’t touch it, how was she to use it?

She first tried to control it with her mind, but after failing several tis, Chu Yu took Tian Rujing’s finger and did as he had done before, pressing his finger on the bright red gem, then issued the command:

“Open Sesa.”

“Alibaba.”

“Heaven King covers Earth Tiger.”

“Earthquake soars across the valley, a swath of Western Mountains remains forever beautiful.”

“ABCDEFG.”

“We are all made of wood.”

“…want to buy a disk?”

Chu Yu finally ceased her aimless questioning exhausted, after trying nurous possible key phrases.

Her initial enthusiasm gradually cooled down: Did it need to be Tian Rujing to work?

Did it require a command issued specifically by its designated master to activate the bracelet?

Reluctantly biting her lip, Chu Yu took out a red sandalwood box hidden under her desk, gently placed the bracelet inside, and tucked it into her bosom. Then, she pulled a mahogany chair that had been placed beside the wall for decoration, dragged Tian Rujing to the chair, and sat him down with his hands on the armrests. She then bound his hands, feet, and body to the chair following this posture.

Even though Tian Rujing had gained a chair to sit on, Chu Yu treated these teacher-student pair with equal austerity when it ca to the ropes used.

Next, it was ti to wake him up.

Chu Yu calculated in her mind.

Though reluctant, it was an anticipated outco that she might face certain limitations in manipulating the bracelet, hence she must still resort to consulting Tian Rujing.

How could she coax the truth out of him?

Although “torture” was a listed option in her plans, if she could resolve the matter smoothly without having to resort to that, it would be much better.

Chu Yu sighed, walked to a corner stand with pots, and returned with a pot of water in her hand.

Her plan included arrangents for all aspects, with corresponding tools hidden throughout the room. The room might appear prosperous and peaceful, but it was actually filled with lethal opportunities. Tall and short cabinets held an array of torture devices: whips, candles (what are you thinking?), tiger benches, chili water, shackles… And so forth, all prepared for different purposes at different tis.

Before Chu Yu could return to Tian Rujing’s side, a loud crashing sound ca from the direction of the door. Startled, she quickly turned around, only to see the carved wooden door shake a couple of tis. On the next impact, the door latch broke, and the two doors swung open abruptly, as a figure burst in with the montum from breaking the door.

Apart from the main text, today a side story about Tian Rujing was released; it’s a free chapter, both monthly subscribers and those who have bought the subscriptions can read it freely~~~

While editing the text today, I rembered sothing. I initially replaced all ntions of Jiran with Lan Re (a phonetic translation of the Sanskrit for “place of quiet”), believing Lan Re sounded tasteful… But then I reconsidered since he beca a monk of the Central Plains, I chose not to linger on foreign transliterations and unified it back to the Han translation… So I changed it back… Ah, what a fruitless toil…(silly grin)
