Chapter 199: Chapter 179: The Sound of Encirclent from All Sides_3 Chapter 199: Chapter 179: The Sound of Encirclent from All Sides_3 Chu Yu tugged at the corner of her mouth, remained silent, and began walking straight outside. Tian Rujing was also leaving the palace, walking alongside her, but after a few steps, they had to go left and right, respectively.
Chu Yu turned without hesitation, only to unexpectedly hear Tian Rujing’s faint voice from behind: “I’m sorry.”
Chu Yu let out a cold laugh, “You feel sorry, too? You’ve already done it, what’s the use of apologizing now?”
Seeing that Chu Yu stopped but didn’t turn around, Tian Rujing knew she harbored extre resentnt towards him in her heart, but he did not hope for Chu Yu to forgive him. He just expressed the thoughts he held in his heart: “This is my duty.”
Passed down from generations ago, to uphold the dynastic changes recorded in the Heavenly Book, to whom the heavens belong, is a responsibility heavier than any temporary allegiance, and since he had inherited the Divine Artifact, he had to do so.
In Chu Yu’s eyes, perhaps the Heavenly Book seed trivial, but Tian Rujing had grown up with the belief that everything must adhere to the Heavenly Book. This was a belief solidified in his heart, unshakeable.
He couldn’t reach out to save Chu Yu, and might even have to push her further down Huangquan Road, no matter how much he liked her, he must never forget the duty he carried.
Though he occasionally felt so sad that he didn’t know how to breathe, nothing could stop his determination.
People with a singular focus, once they decide to uphold sothing, can be even more stubborn than stone.
After hearing Tian Rujing’s words, Chu Yu’s expression shifted slightly, but she didn’t turn back to look at him, continuing instead towards the carriage surrounded by guards led by He Ji where Yue Jiefei also stood, although in this “escort” formation, Yue Jiefei was rather redundant.
Chu Yu glanced at Yue Jiefei, her lips curling into a cold smile, “Are you also faithfully performing your duty? Well done.”
Yue Jiefei was taken aback, his face soon filled with a look of sha. Chu Yu no longer looked at him and headed straight for the carriage, then hugged herself as if she was very cold, curling up and sitting inside.
There was a layer of soft, thick fur on the walls of the carriage, yet Chu Yu still felt cold.
Why would Tian Rujing know the secret even Liu Ziyue was unaware of? Chu Yu knew without asking that Yue Jiefei was the bridge in this matter.
As secretive as it was done, but since Yue Jiefei was her close bodyguard, with superior martial skills that are hard to guard against, learning about this wasn’t difficult.
Chu Yu didn’t bother to investigate when Yue Jiefei found out about this and when he told Tian Rujing. It had beco a fait accompli; digging into the process was a pointless endeavor. She should focus on what was ahead, not look back.
But…
Chu Yu lowered her head, hugging herself tighter: Liu Ziyue alienated, Yue Jiefei betrayed, Tian Rujing took action, He Ji started to retaliate. An initially sowhat managed situation beca instantly tense. Those who were barely allies, as well as those who were not enemies, now stood against her, making Chu Yu feel besieged.
Even though she appeared very strong outside, suddenly facing such a situation, Chu Yu couldn’t help feeling weak: if only Rong Zhi were here.
She knew he wasn’t a good person, she knew that… but in this mont, the first person she thought of was still Rong Zhi.
Thinking of Rong Zhi, Chu Yu suddenly snapped out of her lancholic daze: Rong Zhi’s life was still uncertain, and indeed, his situation might be more dangerous than hers. How could she think only of relying on him?
Chu Yu inhaled deeply, raised both hands, and gently slapped her cheeks: “Chu Yu, hold on.”
The strength wasn’t much, her palm eting her cheek produced a quiet but clear sound, sound upon sound slowly overlapped.
Chu Yu, hold on.
Chu Yu, hold on.
…At that ti, one must transform into steel, unbreakable.
One must survive, must et Rong Zhi again.

He Jue held a rather new-looking small sheepskin map, followed the markings on it, and found a cave entrance hidden in the dense forest. He entered the cave without hesitation, and after a long period of darkness, he saw light again.
But in this light, there was an added layer of eerie firelight.
What was once the tranquil and serene Taoyuan had now turned into a human hell.
The fierce fire swept through everything, recklessly burning all that could be burned. The flas licked wildly at everything—grasses, trees, buildings, and people.
In the sea of fire, the only sounds were those of burning. The people in the fire lay motionless on the ground, seemingly long devoid of life.
The only area untouched by the flas was probably a space of over twenty yards near the cave entrance, as all the combustible material nearby had been cleared away.
Not far from the exit, sat a young man dressed in white, his face sowhat gaunt, his chin and eyebrows sharpened. Although pale, he radiated an odd, elegant charm. His expression was extrely composed even with the devastating scene before him and the surrounding flas and rolling heatwaves. Yet, he seed to be sitting tranquilly amidst green bamboo, so elegantly at ease.
In front of him was a wine pot, with a porcelain cup in his hand, half-filled with liquid. He touched the cup to his pale lips, rely moistening them, then turned to look at He Jue.
There was firelight all around, but the young man’s dark eyes were like bottomless black holes, absorbing all the light, leaving only sheer darkness spreading out into an endless night.
Although it was still noon, He Jue montarily thought he saw an endless night. He suddenly felt restless and broke the silence between them, “Rong Zhi, you sent the map to —which ant you wanted to see this fire you started? You called here, are you not afraid that I would kill you?”
“The heir of Swing Sword Hall, the leader of all assassins.” Rong Zhi put down his cup, ” You ignore serious matters all day long; you aren’t very competent as a leader.”
Suddenly being called out, He Jue involuntarily froze.
Rong Zhi smiled slightly, speaking very calmly, “He Jue, let’s make a deal.” He was relaxed, the smile on his lips carrying a hint of allure.
==================== THIS IS A LINE OF GRATITUDE ===================
This chapter is a combination of two chapters into one; a basic update plus an additional update.
I want to thank everyone for helping secure a top three position in the monthly ticket race. As I had promised earlier, I need to add two more chapters. I still owe one but I really can’t write anymore today. I hope to make up for this chapter tomorrow, I’m very sorry.
This chapter marks the end of the fourth volu.
The title of this volu is: All grand things are fragile, just as clouds scatter and colored glass shatters.
It speaks of situations and also of human nature.
The other tentative title was: The ease of changing a familiar heart, yet they say it is hard for the familiar heart to change.
The mountain rain is about to begin, Rong Zhi returns, and the drama begins.
We are about to enter the fifth volu.
