"Mr. Li."
Seeing Chen Yun's anxious signaling, Chen Feng politely called out to Mr. Li.
"Ah, Xiao Feng."
"Not bad, it seems you've targeted your goals clearly."
Mr. Li smiled and nodded, his tone gentle, having accepted the other's changes.
He prided himself on being a good judge of character.
Initially worried that the other might take the wrong path, now, after a brief eting, he was mostly reassured.
Chen Feng couldn't deny it, he just nodded slightly in response.
The three of them ended their casual chat outside the hotpot restaurant and soon walked in together.
Glancing inside, the place was bustling with noise, and the aroma of hotpot wafted through the air.
Beef, tripe, ribs...
The decor was simple and ordinary, with rows of brown square wooden tables, each flanked by matching long brown wooden benches, nearly all occupied.
Luckily, Chen Yun had already reserved a spot near the window, at the third square table.
The area was partitioned with wooden fences and potted plants, and at the mont, a girl was sitting there, occupying the seat, idly playing with her phone.
"Xiao Wei, call them over."
Mr. Li walked up with a smile and said.
Hearing this, the girl looked up, dressed in a light-colored short-sleeve shirt and denim long skirt, with shoulder-length hair, silver earrings, a high-bridged nose, and sowhat cold eyebrows and eyes.
Their eyes t, and Chen Feng realized this was Mr. Li's daughter, Li Wei.
He had seen her a few tis before; she should be in university now, just a year or two younger than him.
"Chen Feng?"
Li Wei raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised, her gaze lingering on Chen Feng's changed physique for several seconds.
Chen Feng nodded his head in greeting, offering a simple response.
He and she weren't very close, far less morable than Mr. Li in his mory.
"Xiao Feng is now practicing boxing and fitness, and he's making good progress."
Mr. Li explained with a smile as he took a seat.
Li Wei responded with an "Oh," her surprise fading away, and without further question, she went back to playing with her phone.
This made Mr. Li shake his head but decided not to elaborate further.
He eventually picked up the nu and handed it to Chen Feng, "Xiao Feng, see what you'd like to eat, we ordered a few items before you ca."
"Okay, thank you, Mr. Li."
Chen Feng was decisive, quickly ordering beef, tripe, and other ats.
The quantity was not small, causing both Chen Yun and Mr. Li to be sowhat surprised.
However, rembering that he was practicing boxing, they didn't inquire further and soon left the nu for the server to take away.
"Xiao Feng, is practicing boxing very tough?"
Chen Yun asked from one side, her gaze slightly concerned.
She believed that reward is proportional to the sweat, and his noticeable changes must have co with considerable effort.
"Not really tiring."
Shaking his head with a smile, Chen Feng briefly described his current situation.
His daily routine was more filled with fulfilling satisfaction.
"That's good; it's great to see young people so energetic."
Mr. Li comnted cheerily, observing that Chen Feng's words were genuine, and his worries dissipated.
"But one thing, in practicing boxing and Qi cultivation, I've heard from so friends that the farther you go in Martial Arts, the more you must restrain yourself."
"Wielding a powerful weapon can lead to rising aggression, but we are now in a modern society with sound laws, if you encounter conflicts, try to be reasonable and avoid physical fights..."
This well-intentioned advice; however, Chen Feng only heard the first half.
Knowing that Mr. Li was a scholarly gentleman, he rely nodded slightly, avoiding making the other feel awkward.
Seeing this, believing his advice was heeded, Mr. Li's smile grew warr, nodding with an approving look.
"It seems practicing boxing might really change one's character..."
A thought flashed through his mind; he rembered that Chen Feng used to hardly take advice and was quite stubborn.
But now, he appeared much improved.
Soon after, the efficiency of the hotpot restaurant was impressive.
The steaming Yin-Yang pot was brought out, and it wouldn't be long before they could start adding ingredients.
"Eat more at, I'm treating today, don't be shy."
"We can order more if it's not enough."
Mr. Li said with a smile, quickly ordering several plates of beef and tripe.
"I want a soda."
Li Wei, who was playing with her phone, suddenly spoke up and continued to tap on the screen without looking up.
Mr. Li frowned, and Chen Yun quickly stood up to smooth things over: "I'll get it, Mr. Li, Xiao Feng, what would you like to drink?"
"Anything is fine."
Chen Feng and Mr. Li said in unison, the forr glancing discreetly at Li Wei.
"Okay."
Nodding her head, Chen Yun quickly left her seat.
Watching her retreating back, Mr. Li fell silent for a mont, eventually put down his chopsticks, and said to Chen Feng: "Xiao Feng."
"Your sister is very outstanding."
Speaking seriously, Chen Feng hurriedly swallowed a piece of beef and paused to look at him.
"The cutting-edge tal project we are currently working on is highly valued by senior leaders, and it will significantly impact the developnt of our Chi Country's chanical technology."
"If we can achieve positive results, your sister should have the opportunity to further her studies in Central City for a few more years."
At the end of his speech, Chen Feng raised his eyebrows.
Central City?
A flicker of mory, a phrase not deeply imprinted in his mind.
Including himself, he had only seen it occasionally in the news but didn't know much about it.
Realizing his confusion, Mr. Li rembered his lack of connections, and with a slower, more patient tone, explained:
"Central City, that's a super-city completely different from here."
"Technology, lifestyle... it's almost like another world, and it would be a great thing if your sister could study there."
Chen Feng understood, nodded lightly, planning to go ho later and thoroughly research more about it.
Soon after, the two continued their conversation based on this topic, and soon saw Chen Yun return.
"Here, your drinks, and these are the straws."
Chen Yun distributed the drinks with a smile, handing out one soda and several red canned herbal teas to the others.
Both Chen Feng and Mr. Li expressed their thanks as they received them.
"Why is it orange-flavored? I wanted lychee."
Li Wei, still holding her phone, glanced at the drink in front of her and spoke discontentedly.
Chen Feng narrowed his eyes.
"Xiao Wei!"
Mr. Li frowned, ready to give a lesson.
Seeing this, Chen Yun felt a bit awkward and quickly took the drink away, trying to defuse the unhappy atmosphere.
"Then I'll get you another one, sorry Xiao Wei."
"Forget it, I don't want it anymore."
Li Wei shook her head impatiently and continued to lower her head and tap on her phone screen.
Seeing this, Mr. Li's eyebrows nearly furrowed into a character for "Chuan," and his gaze obviously darkened by several degrees.
Putting down his chopsticks, he was about to snatch her phone away to rectify her character.
Bang!!
The next second.
A dull sound suddenly erupted, and the two tables of custors nearby started quarreling, smashing an empty beer bottle.
"Fuck off!"
"All I asked for was to add you on WeChat, so what? Acting all high and mighty, huh!"
"I'm not giving it to you, what are you gonna do about it!"
"Son of a bitch!"
Bang!!
Instantly, two groups of people started brawling inside the hot pot restaurant.
Furniture was overturned, and cries of alarm echoed around.
Then, a beer bottle was thrown.
The aim was off, brushing past figures, and the bottle was hurtling straight towards Mr. Li's head.
