Soon, everyone returned to their duty posts. Perhaps because of the return of lissa, everyone worked a lot more seriously than before.
Inside the office, lissa called Shayna over.
When lissa first arrived and was addressing her employees, she noticed that Shayna did not speak, and lissa also noticed that her expression was a little gloomy. But lissa didn’t outrightly call out Shayna, after all, she had not been around lately, and sothing sensitive must have happened to Shayna.
‘’lli, I heard you are looking for ,’’ Shayna said as she gently pushed open lissa’s office door and walked in.
‘’Yes, sit down,’’ lissa said and pointed at a chair in front of her.
Shayna sat down and, although she had been trying to hide her emotions, lissa still saw through her.
"What’s the matter? Why are you so gloomy?’’ lissa asked Shayna.
lissa saw through it at a glance, she and Shayna were the only two people in the office now, and asking directly wouldn’t affect any of them in any way.
Seeing that Shayna was a little embarrassed, lissa did not continue to ask.
"I’m not here these days. If anyone in the company bullies you, just tell ,’’ She said to Shayna.
"No one bullies ,’’ Shayna replied. She wanted to say sothing else, but for so reason she was unable to speak.
"Is it a family matter? Is your brother asking for money from you again?" lissa inquired.
"Neither that,’’ Shayna replied.
Shayna shook her head, and lissa looked obviously helpless.
"If it’s not a big deal, then you have to relax. You are a person with status now, and you have a certain fan base, so you can’t afford to be unhappy all day,’’ lissa enlightened Shayna. Shayna nodded, indicating that she understood.
But thinking about what happened, Shayna felt a little embarrassed.
‘’lli, I told you that I don’t want to get too excited,’’ Shayna eventually said after lissa finished advising her.
"A while ago, Calvin..." Speaking of this, Shayna paused.
"Calvin proposed to ,’’ She abruptly said.
lissa’s eyes darkened as soon as she heard this..
"He proposed to you?" She asked.
lissa caressed her temples helplessly. She didn’t think that because she was sick and away from work over the past few days, it gave Calvin a chance.
‘’Yes,’’ Shayna replied with a nod, and the scene from the day it happened flashed through her mind.
Shayna had just arrived at work that day when Calvin stopped her in the office.
She was stunned for a while. Although the both of them had a special relationship once, it had been so long now, but the two were still subordinates in the company.
Thinking of this, Shayna had to bite the bullet and go in.
Who knew that when her front foot had just stepped in, the next second, Calvin slamd the door shut.
The decoration in front of Shayna in the office, made her stunned.The original serious and clean office was decorated like a sea of flowers by Calvin.
There were pink happy balls everywhere, and the original office chair had been moved to the other side.
There were hearts made of candles on the ground, and Calvin, after closing the door, knelt down on one knee with flowers in the middle of the hearts.
"Shayna..." he called.
Calvin’s eyes were tender and full of Shayna’s surprised look.
"Calvin, what are you doing?" Shayna yelped.
Shayna didn’t understand at all. Although Calvin had helped her a lot recently, the hurdle in her heart had never been overco.
"I know, I was the one that made our love grow cold before,’’ Calvin said. "
He didn’t care about Shayna’s doubts and continued talking on his own.
"These days, I’ve done a lot of repenting, and I hope you don’t hate so much,’’ he added.
Calvin’s words kept growing, and Shayna was no longer in the mood to listen.
How can soone who had been hurt by soone once forgive so quickly.
"I know. You take good care of , but..." Shayna started to say.
Halfway through her reply, Calvin took out a ring from his pocket, knelt down on one knee, and held it in front of Shayna.
"Shayna, I already know I’m wrong. After so long, I’ve done a lot of repenting, can you forgive ?’’ Calvin asked. Then he stretched out the ring and flashed a genuine smile.
"Shayna, will you marry ?’’ Calvin asked.
‘’Will you marry ?’’
These words kept ringing in Shayna’s ears. She couldn’t believe that Calvin proposed to her!
Shayna was a little overwheld by the sudden marriage proposal after they had been separated for a while.
"You and I..." she muttered.
Shayna hesitated for a while, not knowing what to say.
The words of refusal were stuck in her mouth, and she began to hesitate about the man she once fell in love with, Shayna.
"I know it’s absurd to propose to you here. But would you have co to see elsewhere?" Calvin asked.
He began to regret it. Shayna thought of it, and realized that what Calvin said made sense.
"But girls love a sense of ceremony. I have done my best to decorate this place. I hope you like it,’’ he added.
Calvin flashed a small smile and held the ring in front of Shayna’s face again.
"Shayna, marry , okay?" He cajoled her.
Shayna was almost moved by Calvin’s words and actions..
Thinking of those unbearable days, she really didn’t dare to entrust herself to such a man.
"Calvin, we are not compatible..." Shayna started to say.
Her eyes darkened, she observed Calvin’s look, and she was starting to get scared.
In desperation, she had to refuse.
Calvin was clearly embarrassed that a well-prepared marriage proposal was rejected.
The bright ring was in his hand, and he felt a little dazed for a while.
Calvin stood up slowly, with his head bowed, and even Shayna couldn’t figure out what he was thinking.
But now, Shayna didn’t care about that.

"So, you refused?" Calvin asked with a straight tone.
Shayna described the scene to lissa, who was also a little surprised.
‘’What?’’ lissa asked.
Shayna nodded.
lissa looked at Shayna in front of her with interest. Shayna had always been a very introverted and shy girl. She never thought that when Shayna was in love, she could be so rational.
But if Shayna really didn’t care, she wouldn’t be sad right now.
"Do you regret it?" lissa asked.
"I..." Shayna started to say, and froze for a mont, then her eyes beca firm.
"I don’t regret it,’’ she said.
lissa nodded, then took Shayna’s hand.
"You have to rember that a girl’s life is not just about love now. You can be so rational about your feelings, which very few people can do,’’ lissa said to Shayna, enlightening her for a while, and Shayna appreciated it.
"He was really impulsive this ti. Marriage is sothing that won need to consider carefully. If you can calm down, it shows that you are already great." Shayna said.
Speaking of this, lissa tapped Shayna on the shoulder.
"Relax, you can’t be limited to this, and you have done a great job. He was the one that proposed to you, not your failure to confess your love for him, so don’t be sad." she told Shayna.
