Chapter 147: The Title Effects
[: 3rd POV :]
The night was calm, eerily calm, almost sacred.
The festivities that had lit the capital for days had finally dwindled into soft embers of laughter and warmth in the streets.
The stars shimred above the Human Continent, painting streaks of silver over the palace rooftops.
In the silence of his chamber, Daniel sat alone by the balcony, the moonlight cascading over his features.
The gentle wind brushed through his silveru hair, carrying the distant echoes of celebration.
For the first ti in what felt like years, there was peace, not on the battlefield, not amidst the screams of dying monsters, but within his own heart.
He exhaled slowly, his gaze distant.
"Now... I guess it’s ti to review all of those rewards that I’ve obtained, both from the System and from the Will of the Universe itself."
His tone was quiet, contemplative.
He had delayed this mont for too long, wanting to spend ti with his mother and those dear to him.
But now, in solitude, the weight of his achievents, no, his existence, demanded attention.
A list began to unfold before him, each title, glowing faintly, radiating power and stories untold.
[: Death’s Lover :]
- You’re a mortal that has caught Death’s attention, and she has decided to grant you a marvelous title -
- You cannot die as long as Death loves you, and your affinity towards Death itself has reached the maximum :
Daniel’s eyes trembled slightly.
"Death loves ," Daniel muttered softly, a trace of amusent in his tone.
"Then I suppose... I’m not as alone as I thought."
[: Rise of Ti Conqueror :]
- For a mortal who possessed the power of ti would no doubt rise as a Conqueror ;
- Your affinity over ti increases greatly and once a day, you could claim the blessing by Ti itself -
"I suppose even Ti itself couldn’t ignore ," Daniel said with a faint smile.
He clenched his hand, recalling the sensation of stopping the flow of seconds, of bending eternity itself to his will.
"Being blessed by Ti itself... huh," he muttered, tilting his head.
[: Slayer of the Chosen :]
- The Universe acknowledges your existence as the one who has slain seven Apostles -
- Increases All Stats by 100x, and each passing second in battle increases all stats by 10% -
- Once a month, you may enter ’Invulnerability,’ where all attacks are nullified -
Daniel smiled.
"Seven Apostles..."
He rembered the screams, the blood, the divine auras that had shattered cities when they fell.
Those battles had carved scars into his body and soul alike.
He didn’t think of them as achievents, but sothing that he needed to annihilate.
"To think... the Universe actually rewards
for that," he whispered bitterly.
Invulnerability... It almost sounded like mockery.
[: Reality Maker :]
- Your manipulation of illusions transcends fantasy and manifests as truth -
- Once a month, you can enter the state of ’Reality Maker,’ where you beco Reality itself -
He blinked. "Beco... Reality?"
That one frightened even him.
To be reality ant to be the foundation, all things that existed, existing through you.
He clenched his chest as the very thought stirred sothing ancient within him.
The mory of battle flashed in his mind—where his illusions devoured truth, where dreams solidified into unbreakable constructs.
"I could rewrite existence itself," he muttered, almost trembling in excitent.
[: Butcher of the Ten Thousand :]
- The feat of killing ten thousand beings in a single move astonishes the Universe -
- When outnumbered, all stats increase tenfold, and for every enemy, your power rises again -
"I didn’t notice that even that I was rewarded with a title. Can’t complain about"
[: Arbiter of Annihilation :]
- Your affinity over Destruction, Decay, Void, Annihilation, and Nothingness increases greatly -
"An arbiter..." he repeated, his tone low.
He had annihilated thousands of monsters.
He had erased the Overlords .
He had stood in front of the 7 Apostles and had obliterated then.
Maybe it wasn’t sothing to be proud of, but rather a testant of how far he’s willing to go.
"I guess this is who I’ve beco," he whispered, gazing at his reflection in the window, his eyes glowing faintly.
"The one who judges through destruction."
[: Harbinger of Silence :]
- You cause fear even before you strike. Those with hostility toward you may die without realizing how -
Daniel’s lips curled slightly.
"Harbinger of Silence... I suppose that fits."
How many had died before he even moved?
How many had fallen in terror, their souls crushed by the sheer weight of his presence?
"Even fear itself... is my ally now."
But beneath his words was no arrogance, only looking forward to the future with this effect.
[: Void Reclair :]
- For mastering the Void, you may summon Void Beasts and enter ’Void Gazer’ once a month -
The dark violet glow of the title pulsed like a heartbeat.
He rembered the first ti he used the Void.
It welcod him as though its master has returned.
"Even the Void bows," he whispered, the faint echo of amusent in his voice.
[: Annihilation of Evil :]
- Against evil, all stats increase by 1000x; skill effects by 5x -
Daniel chuckled softly.
"The Universe must have a sense of irony."
He had been called evil before, by those who didn’t understand, who saw only destruction.
Yet here it was, rewarding him for doing what he always did: destroying those who preyed upon others.
"Maybe I’m not so lost after all," he said faintly, leaning back.
[: Reaper of the Dragons :]
- For slaying thousands of Dragons, you’ve caught the Dragon God’s attention -
- All stats
100x; once a month, enter ’Dragon Slayer’ and your attacks beco Absolute Damage -
He rubbed his temples, sighing.
"Yeah... I rember that gate and those monstrous beingd."
The endless skies, the burning roars, the despair of facing entire flights of dragons alone.
"To think even the Dragon God recognizes ," Daniel murmured.
"What am I becoming?"
[: Death Cataclysm :]
- You can enter ’Eternal Death’, ending all life beyond you -
He stared blankly at this one.
His silence lingered for several minutes.
"Eternal Death..." he whispered, his tone trembling.
That title was no blessing. It was a warning.
If he ever unleashed that form again, it wouldn’t be war.
It would be extinction.
"I already have End Kind of Abilities, and yet, there’s another one...?"
"Let’s... hope I’ll never need that one," he said quietly.
[: The Lone Saviour :]
- For saving hundreds of thousands alone, your regeneration and all stats skyrocket -
His chest tightened.
Images flashed through his mind, the faces of the slaves he’d freed, the cries of children, the gratitude in their trembling hands.
"For once," Daniel said softly, "this one doesn’t feel like a curse and ominous"
He smiled faintly.
[: Punisher of Evil :]
- You don’t walk the path of righteousness, but you punish evil without hesitation -
- Your Resistance towards poisons, debuff, diseases and illusions increases greatly -
He nodded slightly.
"That’s true."
He wasn’t holy.
He wasn’t good.
He simply couldn’t stand evil.
"I never fought for justice," he whispered. "I fought because I couldn’t look away."
[: rciless Executioner :]
- For soone that wouldn’t hesitate to execute, you have gained, Will of Fortitude -
Daniel chuckled.
"I don’t think anyone would argue that one."
He thought of the executions, the slave traders, the monsters who begged for rcy they never gave others.
"rciless... yeah," he said with a sigh.
"I suppose rcy was never my strength."
[: Cleansing of Filth :]
- To clean and cleanse of all Filth, your resistance towards Darkness, Shadows, Curses increases greatly -
He tilted his head.
"So even the filth of the world fears
now. How fitting."
There was sothing almost poetic about it, the boy who once struggled to survive, now cleanses corruption itself.
[: The Healer :]
-For soone whose prowess doesn’t rely on being a healer, you have obtained an interest from ’Mother of Nature’ and she has bestow you a with a title where all of your Healer Abilities increases by 10 tis and your presence and aura would heal your allies injuries -
- Once a month, you can enter the state of ’Over Heal -
’*
Daniel blinked in surprise.
"Wait—? A healer?"
For the first ti, he laughed softly. The irony was too much.
"I’ve killed monsters, overlords and apostles... and now I heal?"
But as he thought about it, he rembered the tis he’d saved others when his skill, Life Rejuvenation healed their injuries.
"I see..." he murmured.
When the list faded, Daniel leaned back on his chair. The moonlight bathed his expression in a pale glow.
The silence was profound, only the hum of the System remained.
"System," he called softly.
"What exactly... is a title?"
[: Titles are a degraded version forms of Stories and Lore :]
[: They are acknowledgnts of existence itself :]
[: While ’Stories’ and ’Lore’ is the shape and manifestion of your identity and existence, ’Titles’ are echoes of them :]
[: The Difference between Titles, Stories and Lore is that title is supported by the will of the Universe or by Entities that have acknowledged your path :]
Daniel closed his eyes, letting those words sink in.
"So these aren’t just achievents..." he said softly.
"They’re... pieces of who I am."
He stood, walking toward the balcony.
The city stretched below, thousands of lights flickering like stars.
Each of those titles represented a truth, a sin, a victory, a promise.
Each one whispered fragnts of the story he’d carved across ti and existence.
But as he gazed upon the city, Daniel smiled faintly, his eyes soft yet unyielding.
"They can call
whatever they want," he said quietly.
"But at the end of the day... I’m just Daniel."
The wind swept past him, carrying his words into the night.
And for a fleeting mont, the stars above shimred brighter, almost as if the Universe itself had heard, and smiled back.
