Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Leave Calmly

Rubbing his aching arms, the Major General cracked a smile. "That’s so impressive strength, kid. Are you really not going to join Black Scorpion? If you do, I guarantee I’ll personally recomnd you for the rank of General!" He spoke earnestly, his eyes filled with deep admiration.

"Thanks, but I really have no interest in becoming a rcenary!" Lin Kuang’s tone turned cold as he spoke, and he lunged forward, throwing a punch at the Major General’s head.

Watching the fierce punch co at him, the Major General’s expression grew grave. He dodged with a phantom-like movent, evading Lin Kuang’s strike. At the sa ti, the Major General launched a decisive counterattack—a knee strike from the side, aid at Lin Kuang’s abdon.

Their movents were incredibly fast, a flurry of action that left little ti to react. Facing the attack, Lin Kuang also raised his leg, a faint light flashing across his knee. The next mont, their knees collided fiercely.

BANG!

The Major General’s face suddenly flushed red as his body was sent flying backward, his left leg dangling limply. Lin Kuang had shattered his kneecap, completely crippling the limb.

Seeing his chance, Lin Kuang naturally wouldn’t give his opponent any ti to recover. Propelling himself with his feet, he shot forward like a cannonball, appearing before the Major General with terrifying, unparalleled speed. He threw another punch, this one aid straight for the Major General’s heart.

The Major General desperately pushed off with his right foot, trying to retreat and dodge the terrifying attack. However, with only one good leg, his movents were sluggish. He barely managed to avoid the strike; Lin Kuang’s fist passed less than a centiter from his chest.

At that mont, Lin Kuang’s clenched fist suddenly opened. His fingers, as hard as daggers, plunged into the Major General’s chest.

Feeling his chest being pierced, the Major General’s eyes widened in horror. However, Lin Kuang gave him no further chance to be shocked. He withdrew his bloody hand, clenched it into a fist again, and slamd it into the very sa wound.

This punch ended the Major General’s life. His heart was completely obliterated by the formidable power of the blow, leaving no chance of survival. The Major General stared fixedly at Lin Kuang as his body fell heavily to the ground, dead but with his eyes wide open.

Lin Kuang ignored the corpse. He stood still for a mont to catch his breath, then strode swiftly toward the Land Rover.

"You... you, stay back, or else... or else I’ll shoot her!"

Just then, the last Black Scorpion mber erged from the Land Rover. He had his left arm wrapped around Fan Bingbing’s neck and a gun pressed to her head. Fan Bingbing was still unconscious, completely oblivious to what was happening. This rcenary had clearly witnessed the fight between Lin Kuang and the Major General. To him, the Major General was like a god, so to see him killed so effortlessly was a trendous shock. He stared at Lin Kuang, his eyes filled with terror.

Seeing Fan Bingbing held hostage, Lin Kuang coldly drew the Desert Eagle from his back and aid it at the rcenary.

"I’ll count to three. Let her go, and I’ll give you a chance to escape," Lin Kuang said, gesturing with his left hand toward the dead Major General. "Otherwise, his fate will be yours."

The Black Scorpion mber’s body trembled involuntarily. The coldness in Lin Kuang’s gaze intensified his terror.

"No! You put down the gun! Put down the gun, or I’ll kill her!" the man scread, on the verge of hysteria.

"Three... two... one!" Lin Kuang completely ignored the man’s frantic shouts, counting down calmly.

The mont he said the last number, his Desert Eagle fired.

BANG!

A bullet slamd into the rcenary’s gun-wielding shoulder. He scread in pain, the handgun dropping to the ground as he staggered back. In that instant, his head, which had been hidden behind Fan Bingbing, was exposed.

Seizing the opportunity, Lin Kuang fired again, a headshot that instantly killed the last Black Scorpion mber.

Without a second glance, Lin Kuang rushed forward to catch Fan Bingbing as she slumped toward the ground. Seeing that she was only unconscious and otherwise unhard, he couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"Just unconscious. Thankfully, nothing serious," Lin Kuang murmured.

He then carried Fan Bingbing into the battered Land Rover and drove straight to the Sigel Hotel. On the way, he called Liu Shilin to ask where they were. He was greatly relieved to hear that she and the others had already made it ho safely. After assuring Liu Shilin that he was fine, he hung up and drove the damaged vehicle to the back entrance of the Sigel Hotel.

The back door was locked, but Lin Kuang paid it no mind. He kicked it open and walked inside, carrying Fan Bingbing. To avoid any paparazzi, he grabbed so stray clothes to cover both his and Fan Bingbing’s faces before heading to her room.

Fan Bingbing’s room was empty and still locked. Lin Kuang simply kicked this door open as well and carried her inside.

He placed Fan Bingbing on the sofa and gave her back a few firm pats. A mont later, she slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Lin Kuang’s concerned face.

At that mont, her mory was stuck at the concert, when everything went pitch black and she fell from the stage. Now, looking at Lin Kuang, her beautiful eyes filled with confusion.

"Lin Kuang, what happened? Are we back at the hotel?" she asked, rubbing her aching head.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang smiled and nodded. "Yes, we’re back at the hotel. You don’t rember what just happened?"

"I just rember everything going pitch black, then I fell from the stage. After that, I think soone struck

on the neck, and then I don’t rember anything at all," Fan Bingbing said, shaking her head, which was clearly still throbbing.

Lin Kuang nodded and briefly recounted the events that had transpired.

Shock filled Fan Bingbing’s beautiful eyes as she listened to him. Although Lin Kuang’s account was simple, she knew enough to understand just how dangerous the situation had truly been. At this mont, her gaze toward Lin Kuang softened even more, and the fondness in her heart for him grew even stronger.
