Chapter 468: 468 Chapter: The Warmth of Ho
"You all go back! Go back and tell the Family Head that I am here. There’s no need for your Shadow unit to take action!"
Chen Zhongxiang’s face was flushed with anger, his words dripping with undisguised fury.
However, the four mbers of Shadow didn’t make a sound. Each of them simply stared at Lin Kuang as if they hadn’t heard Chen Zhongxiang at all.
"Tsk tsk, Mr. Chen, it seems these people don’t follow your commands," Lin Kuang said with a smirk, his tone laced with mockery.
"I told you to go back!" Chen Zhongxiang could no longer hide his anger and bellowed.
In response, one of the Shadow mbers finally spoke. "Second Master, we are here under the Family Head’s command. So, with all due respect, we will not be leaving."
Hearing this, Chen Zhongxiang was seething with rage, but he was powerless. The Shadow team answered only to the head of the Chen Family.
"Let
ask you, did you co here to kill Lin Kuang?" Chen Zhongxiang demanded.
"Yes, we are here to kill him," the Shadow mber replied flatly.
Hearing this, Chen Zhongxiang nodded in fury. "Fine, fine! Very well, Chen Lingzhen, very well! I’ll leave this to you, then. I’m leaving!"
As he spoke, Chen Zhongxiang stomped his foot forcefully. The marble beneath him shattered as he leaped onto a rooftop and fled at top speed.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang was a bit bewildered. What on earth was this act? However, judging by Chen Zhongxiang’s reaction, Lin Kuang felt the man probably wasn’t lying; otherwise, he wouldn’t have simply left. Lin Kuang could clearly sense that Chen Zhongxiang had truly departed, not just put on a show.
It seems the Chen Family really does have internal issues. Tsk tsk, so there are still so sensible people among them. In that case, I’ll give you all a chance. Lin Kuang thought, his gaze falling upon the four Shadow mbers.
"You want to kill , is that right? Co on, then. Let’s see if you can," Lin Kuang said with a smile.
"As you wish!"
With that, the four Shadow mbers charged forward, swinging their fists at Lin Kuang. These four were not using Tai Chi; they used the pure Art of Killing. Their very existence was for the sole purpose of killing.
As the four assassins closed in, Lin Kuang’s expression turned icy cold.
"You overestimate yourselves!"
Saying this, Lin Kuang activated the Willow Catkin Technique. His speed peaked in an instant as he threw four punches.
The Shadow mbers were strong; their power was at least on par with Chen Zhongyu’s. It was like facing four Chen Zhongyus at once. However, during his last battle with Chen Zhongyu, Lin Kuang had an epiphany that caused his power to surge, making him far beyond what these four could handle. The gap between them was too vast.
All four of Lin Kuang’s punches landed squarely on their hearts.
In an instant, the four were sent flying backward, blood spurting from their mouths as they died on the spot. This was the might of Lin Kuang, the vast gulf that separated him from them.
Looking at the four dead n, Lin Kuang showed no joy; his expression was as calm as ever. After all, in his eyes, these four Shadow mbers were never his opponents.
"Alright, the matter is resolved. You all go get so rest. I’ll clean up here," Lin Kuang said with a smile, turning to Yang Ruoxi and the other three won.
"Do you need our help?" Yang Ruotong asked, her face sowhat pale after witnessing the fight.
"No need. I can handle this little thing on my own. You all go rest," Lin Kuang said again with a reassuring smile.
Hearing this, the four won finally felt at ease and turned to leave.
Lin Kuang disposed of the four bodies in the nearby wilderness, then returned to wash the bloodstains from the manor grounds. By the ti he finished, it was already past two in the morning. Glancing at the ti, Lin Kuang could only shake his head, speechless.
I have to pick a different battlefield next ti. If this keeps up, I’ll have to clean up the ss every single ti. This is just miserable, he muttered to himself before turning and walking into the villa.
After a quick wash-up, he returned to Yang Ruotong’s room. She was yawning endlessly but had clearly not gone to sleep, waiting for him to co back. Seeing Lin Kuang appear, Yang Ruotong finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Are you done?" she asked with a smile.
Looking at her sleepy state, Lin Kuang gently took her into his arms. "You silly girl. If you’re tired, you should sleep. It’s not like anything would happen to ," he whispered, his tone incredibly gentle.
"I couldn’t sleep. I was worried about you," Yang Ruotong murmured, nestled in Lin Kuang’s arms.
"Silly woman. Alright, let’s sleep."
With that, Lin Kuang switched off the light, held Yang Ruotong close, and quietly fell asleep.
At five in the morning, Lin Kuang woke up early. After washing up, he went out to the manor grounds and carefully inspected them, only relaxing after confirming there were no traces of blood left. After all, with little Xinxin around, allowing the little one to see blood all over the ground wouldn’t be good.
Finding no issues, Lin Kuang began practicing Tai Chi Chuan. His movents looked incredibly slow, much like the elderly exercising in a park. However, his Tai Chi Chuan held a peculiar charm, completely different from the ordinary form.
After completing a full set, Lin Kuang ca to a stop. By then, it was already past six o’clock.
When Lin Kuang returned to the main hall, Liu Shilin and Yang Ruotong were already up and bustling around in the kitchen. Watching the two of them, Lin Kuang felt an indescribable warmth in his heart, a feeling of ho.
Shortly after, little Xinxin ca downstairs in a daze, yawning. She looked absolutely adorable.
"Good morning, little one," Lin Kuang said with a smile.
"Good morning, Little Uncle," Xinxin replied with a giggle, climbing onto Lin Kuang’s lap.
"Hmm, have you not washed up yet?" Lin Kuang asked, smiling.
"Nope, not yet," Xinxin answered honestly.
"Then go wash up quickly," Lin Kuang said with a laugh as he pinched Xinxin’s cute cheek.
"Yes, Little Uncle!" Xinxin replied playfully, then hopped and skipped her way upstairs.
Watching her cute antics put Lin Kuang in a great mood. This little girl is always so adorable. It’s impossible not to love her. he thought with a smile.
Just then, Yang Ruoxi and Lin Guo’er also ca downstairs, both of them apparently having already washed up. He chatted with them for a bit, and soon Xinxin ca down again. The four of them talked and laughed, playing around and creating a comfortable and joyful atmosphere.
"Hey, hey, hey, ladies! Ti to eat!" At that mont, Liu Shilin called out with a smile as she walked out of the kitchen with bowls and chopsticks.
"And my handso Little Uncle, too!" Xinxin couldn’t resist reminding her, pulling on Lin Kuang’s hand.
