Seeing this, Lin Kuang's expression grew thoughtful. Ye Tiannan's gaze was pleading; he was in desperate need of Lin Kuang's help.

Just as Lin Kuang had assessed, Ye Tiannan was very smart. In fact, his cunning and insidious nature surpassed even Chu Zhongtian's.

Ye Tiannan had long been preparing for this conversation. He knew that when Lin Kuang arrived, he would have to make his case, because he was certain only Lin Kuang could help him now. Of course, Ye Tiannan didn't know if Lin Kuang would actually agree, but he had to try.

Furthermore, the matter also involved Yang Ruotong, as Tong Lin had once been her husband.

Ye Tiannan also knew that Lin Kuang had a connection to Yang Wucheng and frequently visited the military district. This led him to believe that Lin Kuang was very likely a soldier. If Lin Kuang was a soldier, the probability of him intervening would be even higher—a factor Ye Tiannan had already calculated.

At the sa ti, Ye Tiannan resolved that if Lin Kuang truly helped him settle this matter, he and his father would stand firmly on Lin Kuang's side. If everything up to this point was re speculation, then offering his and his father's unwavering support was undoubtedly his final bargaining chip.

Ye Tiannan was making a gamble, wagering his and his father's lives, fortunes, and political careers on Lin Kuang's help. This was his objective, and this was the move he had to make.

Lin Kuang contemplated quietly. Truthfully, he didn't particularly care about receiving the loyalty of Ye Tiannan and his father. However, obtaining their allegiance would undoubtedly be a good thing for both him and the Lin Family. Yang Wucheng had already aligned with the Lin Family, and Ye Tiannan's father was the mayor of East Sea City. If he joined as well, it would be equivalent to bringing the majority of East Sea into the Lin Family's sphere of influence. No matter how one looked at it, this was a positive developnt.

Moreover, the fact that Ye Tiannan's father had been stalling Tong Lin showed that his conscience hadn't been completely drowned by self-interest. This ant the man was still salvageable. Otherwise, why would his father have bothered stalling? He could have just collaborated with Tong Lin directly.

Furthermore, as a soldier, Lin Kuang felt he had to get involved in this matter, no matter what. The only question Lin Kuang had to consider now was whether he should accept their pledge of loyalty. He knew with certainty that if he refused, Ye Tiannan and his father would undoubtedly die.

After a mont of thought, Lin Kuang lifted his head and t Ye Tiannan's gaze.

Ye Tiannan watched him with a mixture of hope and anxiety. He had laid all his cards on the table; if Lin Kuang refused, he would have no options left.

Looking at Ye Tiannan, Lin Kuang gave a slow, deliberate nod.

"Ye Tiannan, I agree.

"Honestly, you're smarter than I thought. I'll help you with this.

"Also, find a ti to arrange a eting between your father and . There are so things you aren't aware of," Lin Kuang spoke calmly.

Hearing his words, Ye Tiannan was ecstatic. He nodded enthusiastically, nearly bowing to the ground in gratitude.

"Mr. Lin, please rest assured. Within the next day or two, wait for my call. I'll arrange the eting with my father.

"Thank you, Mr. Lin! I promise that after this is over, my father and I will follow your every command!" Ye Tiannan said, his tone utterly sincere.

This wasn't a decision he had made on his own; he had already discussed it with his father. A matter of this magnitude was too much for him to decide alone.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded. "Honestly, I don't particularly care about what little Energy you two can muster. I'm helping you because you and your father aren't yet beyond saving. Otherwise, I would have killed you both with my own hands."

Ye Tiannan's heart shuddered at Lin Kuang's words. He suddenly realized that Lin Kuang was far more mysterious than he had ever imagined.

"Thank you, Mr. Lin. I swear, from this day forward, I will turn over a new leaf. At the very least, my father and I will change our ways," Ye Tiannan said again.

Lin Kuang nodded. "I hope so. Arrange the eting with your father as soon as possible. I'm leaving now."

With that, Lin Kuang stood up and left without a backward glance.

Watching Lin Kuang leave, a broad smile spread across Ye Tiannan's face. This was the outco he had been hoping for the most. Now that it was finally achievable, how could he not be overjoyed? However, now was not the right ti to inform his father. Everything would have to wait until morning.

With this thought, Ye Tiannan returned to his room, where the pair of sisters lay uneasily on the bed. At the sight, Ye Tiannan's gaze turned cold, and he killed them both without hesitation. After all, the matters he had just discussed with Lin Kuang were top secret. These two won could not be allowed to leave this place alive.

anwhile, Lin Kuang drove toward Lin Guo'er's ho, but his mind was not at peace. He kept mulling over the issue, considering whether he should tell Yang Wucheng. After all, Tong Lin was once Yang Wucheng's son-in-law, a fact that left Lin Kuang feeling sowhat conflicted.

Ah, forget it. I won't think about it for now. Damn it, the more I think, the more tangled it gets. Everything will have to wait until after I et with Ye Tiannan's father.

Lin Kuang muttered to himself, then pressed down on the accelerator, speeding back to Lin Guo'er's ho.

It was already two in the morning, but the living room lights were still on. Clearly, Lin Guo'er and Liu Shilin were still waiting up for him.

He got out of the car and walked into the living room to find Lin Guo'er and Liu Shilin fast asleep on the sofa.

A wave of warmth washed over Lin Kuang's heart at the sight.

These two silly girls.

Lin Kuang muttered to himself before gently picking Liu Shilin up and carrying her to her room. He carefully placed her on the bed. As if sensing sothing, a small smile touched Liu Shilin's lips as she turned over and continued to sleep.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang smiled faintly. He gently covered Liu Shilin with a blanket and turned to leave.

Back downstairs, Lin Guo'er was still fast asleep. Lin Kuang carried her up to her room and laid her on the bed before leaving to take a shower. Afterward, he returned to her room.

Gazing at Lin Guo'er's peaceful, sleeping face, Lin Kuang gently kissed her cheek and then lay down, holding her as he drifted off to sleep.

As if sensing his presence, the corners of Lin Guo'er's lips curled up slightly. She wrapped herself around Lin Kuang like an octopus, sinking into a sweet, deep slumber.

Feeling her movents, Lin Kuang smiled happily, turned off the light, and went to sleep.
