Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Uninhibited

"Every action has a price. The key is to not cross your own moral line," Lin Kuang said with a laugh.

Hearing this, Kong Cheng fell silent for a mont, then nodded slightly. "Point taken. But to risk your life for a street punk... it’s just not worth it," Kong Cheng said earnestly.

He had previously thought Lin Kuang was simply remarkable. Their conversation, however, revealed that Lin Kuang wasn’t just remarkable—he was special. This was a truly formidable figure.

At this, Lin Kuang smiled faintly. "If I wanted to leave, do you think you could stop ?"

"Ah..." Kong Cheng was taken aback once more. Rembering the scene at the villa’s entrance, a bitter smile crossed his face. "No," he admitted.

Though it was frustrating and helpless to admit, it was what Kong Cheng truly believed.

Lin Kuang nodded. "That’s right. You can’t stop , and the sa holds true at the police station. Don’t worry, I won’t cause trouble during a normal interrogation. But if soone tries sothing, I’ll make sure they have a very pleasant morning."

With that, Lin Kuang smiled, revealing a set of perfectly aligned white teeth.

For so reason, the sight of that smile sent an involuntary shiver down Kong Cheng’s spine.

The next mont, silence returned to the car. Neither of them spoke again as the police car drove into the municipal bureau’s compound.

After getting out, Kong Cheng led Lin Kuang into the building, guiding him through a winding series of corridors to an interrogation room. Just before they entered, Kong Cheng looked at him with a complex expression. "Lin Kuang, you’re on your own now. Take care."

Kong Cheng patted Lin Kuang’s shoulder, ushered him into the room, and then turned and walked away. After all, his job was to make the arrest; the interrogation would be handled by the chief’s confidants.

Lin Kuang sat silently in the interrogation room. As a matter of procedure, he wore handcuffs. They were useless against him, but he put them on so as not to make things difficult for Kong Cheng. He calmly observed his surroundings, waiting for whatever was to co.

After leaving Lin Kuang to stew in the interrogation room for a full half hour, two uniford police officers finally entered. They sat down at their desk, and one of them, a heavyset officer, glanced at Lin Kuang. "You’re Lin Kuang, right?" His flat tone was laced with disdain.

"That’s ," Lin Kuang replied calmly, eting the officer’s gaze.

"According to our verification and the surveillance footage from the scene, you shot and killed a thug nad Scarface. Is that correct?" the heavyset officer asked again.

Lin Kuang nodded. "Yes."

The heavyset officer was taken aback by Lin Kuang’s frank answer. He had expected the interrogation to be a struggle but was surprised at how easy it was.

"Hmm, a straight answer. Since you’ve confessed, co over and sign this," the officer stated dismissively.

"No, I’m not signing," Lin Kuang replied in the sa flat tone.

"Huh? What did you say?" The heavyset officer froze. He had assud Lin Kuang was agreeing, and the unexpected refusal ignited a spark of anger within him.

"I said, I’m not signing. Do you not understand?" Lin Kuang repeated coolly.

"You’ve got a lot of nerve, kid! You think you can just refuse? Let

tell you, this is a police station, not your house! Besides, we have witnesses and physical evidence. You have to sign whether you like it or not!" the heavyset officer sneered.

"I’m not signing," Lin Kuang said again.

"You’re really not signing?" the officer pressed, his anger flaring. He had never encountered such an arrogant suspect before.

"I’m not signing. Are you hard of hearing?" Lin Kuang reiterated.

"Monkey, go," the heavyset officer said, standing up and ordering the other policeman beside him.

The officer called Monkey nodded in understanding and left the room. The heavyset officer remained, giving Lin Kuang a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, clearly planning sothing.

Just two minutes later, Monkey returned. "All set," he said, grinning at his partner.

"Good. The surveillance is off. Now we can teach this brat a lesson," the heavyset officer sneered, walking toward Lin Kuang. Monkey followed close behind, a cold smirk on his lips.

"What do you two think you’re doing?" Lin Kuang asked flatly.

"What are we doing? Feeling pretty cocky, aren’t you? Well, in here, we’re going to teach you so manners, understand?" the officer nad Monkey said, cracking his knuckles as he advanced on Lin Kuang.

Lin Kuang nodded, a hint of understanding in his eyes. "Oh, so you’re resorting to extralegal punishnt?"

"Well, well, you even know that term. Kid, you been in the slamr before?" Monkey asked with a sly, surprised smile.

"Not yet. This is my first ti," Lin Kuang replied, his voice still perfectly calm, almost detached.

"Your first ti and you’re this damn arrogant? Shit, I was sick of your pretentious ass the mont I laid eyes on you!" the heavyset officer roared, swinging his fist. Lin Kuang’s placid deanor was infuriating.

Just as the punch flew, Lin Kuang shot up from the cold bench. He grabbed the officer’s wrist with one hand and kicked him squarely on the shin.

The next mont, the man’s two-hundred-plus-pound body crashed to the floor with a loud THUD, like a small mountain toppling over.

"OUCH!" A cry of pain escaped the heavyset officer’s lips, his face twisting in agony. He never expected Lin Kuang to be so swift and decisive! He had no ti to resist before he was on the ground!

The other officer, Monkey, froze when he saw his partner go down. They’d never failed at this before! Today, they’d finally t their match!

With that thought, Monkey threw a punch straight at Lin Kuang’s abdon, aiming to double him over.

However, he had no concept of Lin Kuang’s true power. Even ten n like him would be no match; the difference between them was as vast as that between heaven and earth.

In the next second, Lin Kuang moved. He took a small step to evade Monkey’s attack as his elbow drove hard into the center of Monkey’s back.

Monkey scread and collapsed right on top of the heavyset officer.

The officer was already in agony. As Monkey’s full weight crashed down, the pain intensified, and he couldn’t help but let out another howl.
