Chapter 200: Chapter 200: Everything Depends on
Lin Kuang paid no attention to Kenya’s death and turned to leave, as he could already hear the wail of police sirens. Soone in the affluent neighborhood—or perhaps several people—had obviously called the police, but that no longer had anything to do with him. With that in mind, he quickened his pace, hoping to get back to the Liu Family’s ho before they arrived. It was exactly ten o’clock at night.
Liu Shilin and the Witch were standing outside, their gazes fixed on the rising flas in the distance. Their intuition told them this incident had to be related to Lin Kuang. Just then, he happened to return, his clothes covered in dust, which only confird their suspicions.
"Lin Kuang, you’re finally back! Quick, let’s get inside before we talk," Liu Shilin said, her face etched with worry.
Lin Kuang nodded, a little dazed. He hadn’t expected to find Liu Shilin and the Witch waiting for him at the main gate. Then again, it makes sense. The explosion was so loud, how could they not have heard it?
He followed the two won into the living room.
"You two have a seat. I’m going to go change my clothes," he said, unable to stop a smile when he saw the undisguised concern in their eyes. His heart filled with a warm, moving feeling.
"Okay, go ahead," Liu Shilin said gently.
Lin Kuang nodded and went to his room. After changing into a set of pajamas, he ca back and sat down beside them.
Seeing their obvious worry and confusion, Lin Kuang decided to speak first. "Alright, you don’t have to worry. I was the one who did it." He knew what they were thinking, so he admitted it right away.
Hearing him confess so readily, the two won were montarily stunned.
"Then... are you alright?" Liu Shilin couldn’t help but ask, looking him over.
Lin Kuang nodded with a smile. "Of course. Do I look like I’m not?"
Liu Shilin studied him carefully and, seeing that he really was unhard, let out a sigh of relief.
"As long as you’re okay. That’s all that matters. You scared us to death," Liu Shilin said with a hint of irritation.
The Witch, who had been quiet the whole ti, also breathed a small sigh of relief. But true to her nature of constantly bickering with him, she would never admit to being worried.
"I’m fine, so don’t worry," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Now, you two should go to bed. You have work and school tomorrow."
Liu Shilin nodded. "Okay, I’ll head up then. You should get so rest, too."
She gave him a small smile before turning to go upstairs. The Witch shot Lin Kuang one last look before following her.
After the two won left, Lin Kuang took a shower, ntally tuning out the wailing sirens outside. He lay in bed and texted with Fan Bingbing for a while, finally falling asleep close to midnight.
「The next morning.」
Lin Kuang woke up early, washed up, and hurried to the small public square. After eting up with Yang Ruoxi, Lin Kuang went to her ho to continue her treatnt. He didn’t stay for breakfast afterward, instead returning to the Liu Family estate.
There, Liu Shilin was waiting for him like a doting wife, having already prepared his breakfast. After a pleasant al together, the two of them drove to the Yashi Company.
The atmosphere at the office was heavy and grim. As Liu Shilin and Lin Kuang walked into her office, Lin Guo’er followed them in, her expression troubled.
"The Wang, Zhao, and Huang Families have all made their move," Lin Guo’er said, her face grim. "They’re suppressing our Yashi lingerie in the market while simultaneously attacking our reputation and product quality. It’s a series of small incidents, nothing major, but it’s enough to damage our brand’s good na. If this goes on, it’ll be very bad for us.
"The Lin Family has also stepped in. Those three families are a bit wary of us—or more accurately, they’re wary of Elder Li’s Energy, so they still show the Li Family so face. But that’s all it is. Our intervention hasn’t been able to stop them, and the effect has been minimal."
She was intelligent enough to know that the Wang, Zhao, and Huang Families were aiming to completely destroy Yashi!
Hearing Lin Guo’er’s report, a layer of frost seed to settle over Liu Shilin’s features, making her look like the cold beauty Lin Kuang had first t. "I see," she said. "Which areas are being targeted right now?"
"The major supermarkets and distributors in East Sea," Lin Guo’er explained. "The distributors aren’t having as much of a problem because troublemakers are driven off as soon as they appear. Of course, that’s only happening in a few of the pri locations in East Sea. Other areas are still under significant pressure."
Liu Shilin nodded again. "I understand." She took a deep breath, and her gaze, along with Lin Guo’er’s, fell upon Lin Kuang. As if sharing the sa thought, both won looked at him expectantly.
Seeing their expectant looks, Lin Kuang just smiled. "Don’t worry. It’s perfectly normal to face so pressure in East Sea.
"For now, don’t worry about the distributors in the pri locations; soone is looking out for them. If the other distributors can’t stay open, just have them close up shop. It doesn’t matter, since Yashi’s business isn’t limited to just East Sea. In fact, for any distributors that can’t operate, we’ll continue to pay them a portion of their projected revenue.
"Also, Shilin, find so contacts and start running advertisents. Don’t worry about the cost—the bigger, the better. I promise you that in one month, Yashi will be much stronger.
"At the sa ti, you two should start preparing for the company to go public. We’ll be listed in a month, so we might as well generate so buzz."
Lin Kuang spoke with absolute authority. He was confident not only in himself but, more importantly, in the person he had called for help.
Hearing his commanding words, a shiver went through both Liu Shilin and Lin Guo’er. He had brought up the massive undertaking of an IPO yesterday and ntioned it again today with such certainty. It was clear just how confident he was.
"Lin Kuang... are you serious? You’re not joking, are you?" Lin Guo’er asked, staring at his relaxed expression. She had wanted to ask him the sa thing yesterday but had been too embarrassed.
Lin Kuang simply shrugged. "Do I look like I’m joking?"
