Han Caicai returned to his study where he conducted his business, only to find that it was completely empty, aside from the lit candles, the surroundings were desolate and cold.
How could this look like sothing urgent he needed to handle?
A flash of light glead in Han Caicai’s narrow eyes, and he imdiately sensed sothing was amiss!
He had been negligent! He initially thought that there wouldn’t be any mishaps on his own turf. But now, it was evident that soone had sched to lure him out, and if their target wasn’t him, then it was Mu Qingge!
At the thought of Mu Qingge’s safety, his heart raced.
Han Caicai didn’t have ti to find out who had orchestrated all this in secret; his only thought was to return quickly.
Yet, just as he stepped across the threshold, the path ahead was blocked.
"Yiren?" Seeing the face of the person blocking the way, Han Caicai frowned.
"Second Brother, where are you hurrying off to?" Han Yiren stood at the door, preventing him from leaving.
This made Han Caicai’s expression turn cold as he sternly said, "Move aside."
"Tell what you are up to and naturally I will step aside," Han Yiren insisted.
Han Caicai’s brows furrowed even tighter as he looked at Han Yiren and asked, "Why have you co here so late? If there’s nothing urgent, leave imdiately and return to your courtyard."
"I’ve co naturally because I have business with you," Han Yiren said with a smile.
Han Caicai said impatiently, "If it’s business, we will discuss it tomorrow."
With that, he tried to maneuver around Han Yiren to leave. However, just as he moved, Han Yiren once again blocked his path, arms spread wide, sealing off the doorway. "Second Brother, my matter can’t wait, you’d better listen to first, then go about your business."
...
Footsteps echoed along the corridor leading to the wine cellar.
Mu Qingge slightly tilted her head, her ear twitched, discerning the lightness in the steps. ’This person isn’t Han Caicai, nor the maid from earlier.’
Concluding her thoughts, Mu Qingge’s gaze fell once more upon the wine bowl in front of her.
The bowl contained freshly delivered wine, yet she hadn’t drunk a single sip.
At that mont, the owner of the footsteps entered the wine cellar, and as Mu Qingge looked up, she saw a tall, slender man. This man bore so resemblance to Han Caicai, but lacked his seductive charm.
Moreover, his eyes radiated a lascivious gleam, his brows carried a hint of blue, enveloped in a decadent aura.
"Beauty, I’m here!" Han Huohuo exclaid as he entered, and upon seeing Mu Qingge, he involuntarily gasped, his eyes erupting with a glint of admiration.
This flirtatious remark caused Mu Qingge’s gaze to turn cold.
This unknown fellow dared to flirt with her?
Truly foolish!
Unaware of the coldness in Mu Qingge’s eyes, Han Huohuo was only stunned by her appearance. Observing closely at such proximity, he found her increasingly enchanting and alluring.
The more alluring she was, the itchier his heart beca, wishing to embrace the beauty before him, to ravishly listen to her entrancing moans under him.
Han Huohuo’s mind was filled with disgusting, filthy images, his heart ablaze. Unable to resist, he lunged at Mu Qingge——
Bam!
Mu Qingge waved her hand, a trace of disgust in her eyes.
Han Huohuo’s body seed to collide with an invisible wall, sending him flying back and crashing hard onto the ground. The impact instantly sobered him, and only then did he notice the bowl of wine before Mu Qingge.
"You didn’t drink!" Han Huohuo blurted out.
He had tid his entrance, assuming Mu Qingge had consud his specially concocted wine and would be muddled. Yet, she hadn’t drunk it at all.
Mu Qingge slowly stood, her deanor cold and austere, looking down at him and said, "So, the spiked wine was delivered by you."
Han Huohuo’s expression changed drastically, "You... how could you know..." How did she know there was sothing added to the wine?
"How do I know?" Mu Qingge murmured, her lips curled into a playful, chilling smile.
...
"Han Yiren, if you have sothing to say, hurry up." Han Caicai was blocked at the door by Han Yiren, his patience reaching its limit.
Though he knew few could harm Mu Qingge with her skills, he was still extrely worried. The person before him, if not Han Yiren, would long have t death by his hand.
"Isn’t it about you and Qinglian? The Ruan Family has already urged several tis, and Father seems to have made up his mind." Han Yiren spoke.
"Just for this?" Han Caicai’s brows furrowed even deeper.
Han Yiren nodded, "It’s about your lifelong affair, naturally it’s most important. Qinglian is very good, simple and easy to control, with the Ruan Family backing her. Second Brother, I really don’t understand what you’re hesitating for, why you keep refusing."
Han Caicai’s lips tightened, his narrow eyes fixed on Han Yiren, and suddenly asked, "Is tonight’s matter your doing?"
The more he thought, the more suspicious he beca.
If it wasn’t Han Yiren who ddled, why did she appear here to entangle him with inconsequential chatter just when he was about to leave?
"What’s the matter?" Han Yiren retorted.
Suddenly, Han Caicai grabbed her wrist, lifted her arm, and spoke with a threatening chill in his voice, "Don’t play dumb. If you have any sches, I suggest you put them away, or even I won’t be able to save you!"
"Second brother, what are you talking about? I don’t understand." Han Yiren struggled.
Han Caicai, however, pressed closer, asking sharply, "Tell , what plan do you have? What are you trying to do?"
"I haven’t done anything!" Han Yiren defended herself.
Han Caicai sneered, "Do you think I would believe you?" He knew his sister too well; she had cunning but not enough wisdom, unable to see her position clearly or the enemy’s strength.
Han Caicai’s breath grew colder, and the chill in his long, narrow eyes beca more pronounced.
Under his gaze, Han Yiren felt a rising fear in her heart and stamred, "I just saw eldest brother heading towards your wine cellar."
"What!" Han Caicai’s narrow eyes widened abruptly, and he flung Han Yiren away, ignoring her as she fell to the ground, disappearing in an instant.
Han Yiren stood up from the ground, rubbing her reddened wrist with a sullen face. She pushed everything onto Han Huohuo; whatever happened, he would have to bear Han Caicai’s wrath.
However, that Mu Qingge...
Han Yiren’s gaze was ominous, thinking, ’It’s been so long, I wonder if that useless Han Huohuo succeeded. If not, that’s even better, so second brother can see for himself how the person he’s so fond of collaborates with Han Huohuo in disgusting actions.’
Her eyes shifted, and Han Yiren also rushed towards the wine cellar.
Such a good show, how could she miss it?
...
In the wine cellar, Han Huohuo felt that his limbs had lost freedom as if restrained by an invisible force, unable to break free.
anwhile, Mu Qingge was holding that bowl of wine, walking towards him, step by step.
"You... what do you want to do? I am the eldest son of the Han Clan!" Han Huohuo said nervously, revealing his identity in hopes of leaving this place.
However, Mu Qingge showed no signs of stopping at his words, continuing her approach.
Her eyes held a teasing and cold sharpness, and Han Huohuo suddenly realized that the person in front of him didn’t care about his identity. A fear spread from his heart, continually expanding.
Mu Qingge reached him, looking down at Han Huohuo, who lay immobile on the ground. She slowly said, "I’m not interested in who you are. However, I am interested in knowing what you added to the wine you sent."
Saying this, she stepped on Han Huohuo’s chest. The forceful stomp made Han Huohuo reflexively open his mouth, and at this mont, the bowl of wine in Mu Qingge’s hand tilted, the wine poured directly into Han Huohuo’s mouth.
Han Huohuo struggled fruitlessly, and most of the wine poured into his mouth.
At this mont, Han Caicai finally returned, just in ti to witness this scene.
Seeing that Mu Qingge was unhard, Han Caicai felt relieved. Then, noticing Han Huohuo under Mu Qingge’s foot, his enchanting face was imdiately clouded, looking sowhat grim.
Mu Qingge threw the empty bowl to the ground, retracting her foot from Han Huohuo, looked at Han Caicai, and said calmly, "You’re here, just in ti for a good show."
Han Huohuo now noticed Han Caicai’s figure, his face changed dramatically, terror more evident in his eyes. However, he was clever enough to quickly shout to Han Caicai, "Second brother, this person wants to harm ! Help kill him! No, don’t kill him! First lock him up, torture him harshly, and when he changes his attitude, hand him over to to deal with personally!"
Han Caicai walked over with a grim face and kicked Han Huohuo hard in the stomach.
"Ah!" Han Huohuo scread in pain, angered, "Han Caicai, are you crazy! I am your elder brother! Are you helping outsiders to hit ?"
Han Caicai didn’t bother to say another word, landing a series of punches and kicks instead.
Mu Qingge watched coldly from the side.
Han Caicai’s punches were solid, and he didn’t use Spiritual Power. Before long, his knuckles split open, bleeding slightly. Han Huohuo fared worse, beaten black and blue, almost crippled.
In the wine cellar, only Han Huohuo’s wails echoed.
Han Yiren rushed in to find Han Caicai violently beating Han Huohuo, and the person she hated standing unscathed on the side, as if nothing happened.
Mu Qingge’s cold gaze swept over Han Yiren, not missing the fleeting disappointnt in her eyes.
Her brows arched slightly, a thought stirred in her heart, but she didn’t imdiately say anything.
"Second brother, what are you doing?" Han Yiren snapped out of her disappointnt, hurriedly stepping forward to pull Han Caicai, internally blaming Han Huohuo’s incompetence.
"Get lost!" Han Caicai swung his arm and flung Han Yiren to the ground.
By this ti, the half-dead, pathetic Han Huohuo curled his body, rubbing his legs and letting out an extrely ambiguous moan.
This moan was particularly amplified in the wine cellar. Hearing it, Han Caicai recalled the wine Mu Qingge poured into Han Huohuo’s mouth earlier and his eyes almost spat fire.
Grabbing Han Huohuo’s collar, he landed a heavy blow on his face, growling, "You have so nerve!"
