The next morning, Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei went back to their ho to prepare for work. Chen Lihua had two major surgeries before she could rest for the year.
As for Liu Longwei, he was so busy with the company, that he didn't have the ti to accompany his wife. And because of that, Chen Lihua optioned to keep herself busy at the hospital all day with consultancy, while managing the paper work for Aunt Lin to travel out for her cancer treatnt.
On the last day in the month of December, Aunt Lin sat down to have an alone ti with her daughter.
The previous night, Aunt Lin told her daughter to cancel any etings she had for the next day because she wanted to have a deep conversation with her.
"I know you have a boyfriend, and distance is the barrier. You should make out ti to see him more often. You should settle down early like your cousin Lihua did. I don't have the energy to start worrying about you." Aunt Lin said with hidden anings behind her words.
"Mum, you don't have to look after , I am an adult now, I can take care of myself. And besides, I saw my boyfriend on Christmas Eve, you made sure of that." Changying said in reply.
"Seeing him once a month is not enough. Since you two love yourself so much, you should create ti for yourselves to et and chat. Then if you want to get married, one of you will have to move locations and a host of other things you need to talk about. And this will not go on so well if you don't et each other to talk about it. See, you need to see him more often from next year, you need to spend quality ti together." Aunt Lin advised.
"Mum, I can take care of myself, we can take care of ourselves. You are traveling for your treatnt four days after new year, which ans that I would have to work my ass off till you are in good health and fit to co back to work. So I don't have the ti to spend quality ti with my boyfriend. And you don't need to worry about that because he understands and what I am going through at the mont." Changying said in a worried tone.
"I will send soone to give you a hand in the store while I'm gone. I have been inconsiderate towards you for a long ti, it's ti to set things right." Aunt Lin said with a tone full of regret.
"What about your treatnts? You need soone to be there for you, you need ." Changying said, taking her hands in hers.
"I thought we agreed that your father would go with , so why are you bringing up that topic again?." Aunt Lin asked in surprise.
"Mum why did you pick father instead of , I could have been a better option?." Changying asked curiously.
"Your father is the better option. He is taking about a month to two months leave from work. But if we are delayed because of my treatnt, then he can work from there, and if ithat is not an option, he is ready to quit his job in other to take care of . As for you, you are still young and have a long road ahead of you. You need to stay here." Aunt Lin said in a final statent.
"Alright mother, I will listen to you." Changying conceded.
Mother and daughter talked about so other important matters that needed much attention.
On New Years' Eve, they traveled to the Chen Villa just like other mbers of the Chen family to celebrate the New Year. It was a full house, as the house was decorated with New Years' decorations, and the happy laughter from the family mbers.
Lady Chen was happy, but she still missed her daughter. Now her only child has been married out, she still feels a bit lonely.
Sotis, she just wished she could have more children, but that wasn't possible since she couldn't conceive for years.
Since her husband ca back she has been having this weird thought of trying to see if she could conceive again, but she keeps fighting that thought back.
She already had a grown up daughter who was already married and about to start having her own children, that would be weird and unacceptable to her if she would give birth at this stage of her life. That would be shaless of her to do.
So Lady Chen imdiately buried that thought in her head, and she never ntioned to anybody including her best friend Madam Liu.
It's good that she got rid of that thought soon, otherwise if she actually got pregnant and gives birth to another child at this Stage, Chen Lihua might really disown her, given her temper.
On New Years' Eve, Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei were at the Liu Villa to celebrate New Year with so of the extended family mbers.
The house was was bustling with laughter and rrint. There was joy and unity among the Liu family mbers.
Liu Dongi was present today with her daughter and husband.
They set up a tent and a bonfire at the back house with decorations. They enjoyed barbecue and so drinks while waiting for the New Year's count down.
Ten seconds to New Year, they all started a count down. And imdiately the counted On one, they scread 'HAPPY NEW YEAR' and released fire works. They hugged and greeted each other, HAPPY NEW YEAR'.
Old Madam Liu joined them to stay up late as she made sure to have rested enough so she could stay up late and do the countdown with them. She didn't want to miss out on anything at all.
Because of the whole jumping and the stress for tonight's preparation, Chen Lihua felt a little dizzy and her sight a little blurry. She almost collapsed to the ground if not for Liu Longwei's foresight.
He saw her about to fall, and imdiately caught her before she could land on the ground. That action, drew the attention of the other family mbers as they circled around them, worried.
"What happened to Lihua?." Madam Liu asked as she rushed over.
"I don't know, I saw her falling, so I caught her." Liu Longwei replied in a calm manner as he lifted Chen Lihua up.
"Bring her to over here." Old Madam Liu said from the side.
Liu Longwei imdiately carried his unconscious wife to his grandmother's side. He sat on a chair with his wife on his laps.
"Give her hand." Old Madam Liu instructed, and Liu Longwei imdiately raised Chen Lihua's right hand for her.
Old Madam Liu shifted the clothes away from her (Chen Lihua) wrist Before placing two of her fingers on her wrist.
Few seconds later, The Old Lady smile and looked at everybody as she cald them down.
"Don't worry, she is fine. She only fainted because she was stressed this period despite being pregnant."
"She is pregnant?!." Everybody chorused together in surprise.
