Obviously, Arlo was not happy with what Olivia said. The thought of Hazel being with soone else burned his insides, and he was barely able to hide it from Olivia’s eyes.

"I care about her."

Olivia rolled her eyes. "But not enough to keep your dick inside your pants, right?" She glanced at his crotch suggestively.

There was this urge to smash this woman’s head against the desk. Now Arlo rembered why he didn’t like her.

"Just tell whatever you knew about River." If it were not for the sake of finding any signs about River, Arlo would have left this woman’s apartnt by now. After all, he was very tempted to kill her.

"I am not like you people who always look into soone else’s private life." Olivia poured more wine for herself. "I don’t know. I don’t care, and I don’t want to know."

Arlo finally stood up. He was done with Olivia; he should have known that this woman wouldn’t know anything. It was only a coincidence, even though he knew that anything about River wouldn’t have been a simple coincidence.

She was used to fabricating situations, and from the look of it, this was one of her creations; yet, Arlo wouldn’t know what River’s actual intention was until later.

"No matter how much you want to deny it, you are still one of us, Olivia. It runs in your blood, and you couldn’t deny it."

"Fuck you, Arlo!"

Arlo narrowed his eyes. "You really need to leave that man."

That was Arlo’s parting words before he walked away and went out of the apartnt, leaving Olivia alone there, seething because what he said was true. She really wanted to get rid of this bloodline. It felt disgusting for her.

And also, she was annoyed because she had heard the sa advice. Weirdly enough, Arlo and River had the sa opinion related to her boyfriend.

Olivia actually drank more when Arlo left; she got rid of the glass, and now she drank straight from the bottle, but before long, soone entered the apartnt again.

In her half-drunk state, she thought Arlo had returned because he forgot to ask so questions, so she snapped at him.

"What do you want again?!" She turned around, and all the color drained from her face when she saw him, especially the anger in his eyes.

"Are you waiting for soone?" he asked with his deep and dark voice, which promised her pain.

"N-no..." Olivia cursed herself because she was stuttering.

All the bravery that Olivia felt and the anger vanished into thin air when he approached her with long steps.

"There are two glasses. Who ca here?"

***

Arlo couldn’t get anything out from Olivia. He was so frustrated with his current situation. He thought he had everything figured out, but apparently, he was very wrong about it.

He didn’t know where to find River because right now his only lead was Hazel Rose. He was sure that the Barlowe family would get the invitation for the wedding, and it would be hard to find the right ti to have an alone mont with Hazel because he didn’t want to create a scandal between them.

After all, he didn’t want to have a problem with the Leighton family. Aside from the fact that the Leighton family was an important business partner, no one in their right mind would want to be on Ranon Leighton’s bad side.

Even though Ranon Leighton had a lot of enemies, the fact that he was still standing right now was enough proof to say that he was soone that you couldn’t underestimate.

He knew about the killing order for the Leighton family, but Arthur Lozen didn’t want to disclose more about it, even though they were partners in that line of business.

Right now, Arlo could only look for an opportunity to get close to Hazel Rose before her wedding and before she moved away from the Rose family and was under the complete protection of Ranon Leighton; that man could be very scary when it ca to what belonged to him.

However, right now that scary man was actually trying to coax his future wife because he ate her last piece of strawberry cake.

"So, what do you want? I will buy all the strawberry cakes that you want."

"I don’t want any strawberry cakes. I want the one that I ate before. The last piece is the masterpiece. I saved the best for last. So, even if you buy another, more strawberry cakes from the sa product, and even if it was the sa cake, I still don’t want it because the feeling is different."

Ranon wouldn’t have guessed that Hazel would be this pissed. Her face flushed red because of how annoyed she was with him. But what left him speechless was the fact that he was patient enough to listen to her nonsense rambles.

"I know a place where they have more delicious strawberry cakes."

No. Ranon didn’t know. He didn’t like sweet things. He didn’t even enjoy Hazel’s last piece of strawberry cake.

But if it were for sothing that could make her calm down, he would figure out that place later.

"It’s not the sa," Hazel emphasized every word.

Ranon felt like his head was going to explode because this woman didn’t make any sense at all. What did she an by saying that the feeling was different? She didn’t make any sense at all.

But from what Ranon had learned, pregnant won were controlled by their emotions and hormones; so of them beca highly sensitive. Probably, this was the example of it.

Ranon made a ntal note to read more about pregnancies so he would know how to handle the creature who was sulking inside his car. He was driving now, and Hazel actually blared the car with her sad song. She sang at the top of her lungs as if soone had murdered her entire family.

"The boys want a taste of the strawberry shortcakes...!"
