"What?" Greyson looked shocked when he heard the strong rejection from Hazel. He narrowed his eyes dangerously, but his daughter didn’t flinch at all.

Her reaction was rather weird because his daughter usually would have teary eyes under his sharp glare, but the young woman before him even dared to look him in the eyes. There was no shred of fear.

She didn’t seem like the daughter that he knew.

"What did you say? Repeat that."

Since it was an order, Hazel repeated her answer clearly. "No. I am not going to wear the dress."

Greyson’s face turned red because of how livid he was. "How dare you!" He raised his hand and struck down so hard; he forgot that she was pregnant.

Yet, to his dismay, Hazel dodged the attack and put distance between them. Her eyes turned slightly darker; they were filled with rage that Greyson didn’t recognize. It actually startled him.

"Great. Do you want to hit and cause harm to my baby?" Hazel’s eyes trained on his hand that reached his belt but stopped when she ntioned her pregnancy. "What is it, Father? Why do you want to hurt ? Why do you always hurt ? What have I done to deserve this?"

Greyson was stunned with Hazel’s audacity to confront him. He put his hand down, but it didn’t squash his anger; if anything, he beca even more enraged.

"You don’t know why?" He didn’t raise his voice, but it was laced with fury. "You really don’t know why?"

"No. Because if you wanted to bla for your wife’s death, it’s not my fault." Hazel could see his anger coiled behind his eyes.

He looked dangerous. He looked like he was going to kill her right there and then if she said another word. Unfortunately for him, she was not going to shut up. This was also justice for the real Hazel and whatever she had gone through.

"If you wanted to bla soone for her death, bla yourself. You failed as a husband, and now you failed as a father."

What Greyson did next happen too fast; Hazel almost didn’t manage to dodge it, but she was agile enough to escape the fatal blow, as Greyson literally threw a punch at her. He swung his hand furiously.

Pulling back his fist to get the right montum so the punch would hurt so much, Hazel would have a broken nose on her wedding day if it landed.

Thankfully, she managed to bend her body down and avoid it, but she raised her elbow and hit his throat, which caused him to stumble back and cough vigorously.

Hazel didn’t run. She didn’t need to. This man didn’t scare her in the slightest. She stood there and waited until he stopped with his coughing fit before she spoke so that he would be able to hear her clearly.

"Does it hurt?" she asked casually. "You don’t need to glare at as if you are going to kill ."

Greyson was kneeling down; his throat was in so much pain that he couldn’t even speak, which was the result that Hazel aid for because she had a lot of things to say to him.

It was already evening; the sunset was beautiful from the balcony, and Hazel could understand why they put their wedding picture facing it—because the orange hue of the sunset that fell on the picture made it look so dreamy.

"If a little punch made you want to kill , how do you think I felt whenever you hit , belted , slapped , and hurt ? Don’t you think I want to kill you too?"

Hazel didn’t raise her voice because she didn’t need to. What she had done was enough to put Greyson’s attention on her. He must be wondering why she acted this way, where she got her guts to say these words.

"If you wanted soone to bla for the death of your wife, you only have yourself to bla, because I am not interested in taking the bla." Hazel took a step closer; she bent her body slightly so she was at the sa eye level as Greyson, who seed too stunned to stand up. "I refused to be blad for your mistake. You impregnated your wife, and failed to provide for her safe delivery which caused her death, and now you failed as a father too. Not only to but to all of your children."

River and Hazel’s condition was different, but both of them had the sa thing: they had a suck father.

"Do you really think when your last day ca and you were sick on your deathbed, soone would be at your bedside, hold your hand, and cry for you? I don’t think Dylan will waste his ti, and obviously Logan will not do that either."

Hazel straightened her back; she watched with amusent when the anger in Greyson’s eyes faltered. Did he really never think about this?

"You will have a higher chance to get Denzel Leighton to cry for you than to have by your side in your last breath."

Greyson stood up. His eyes were ablaze with rage. He was fuming mad. "I don’t need an ungrateful child like you!"

His voice was hoarse, and from the sound of it, it was so painful for him to speak. Hazel was sure that tomorrow his neck would be swollen. Served him right for trying to hurt a pregnant woman.

"And I don’t need a sorry excuse of a father like you," Hazel replied lightly; she took a step back, just in case this man was trying to attack her again; she was being cautious. "I am not going to wear the dress, and I am not letting you walk the aisle with ."

"Do you really think you can do it?!"

"Oh, yes, I can." Hazel narrowed her eyes slightly. "You know what? I think it was clearly the wrong parent who died."
