"I don’t like this," Hazel said. She didn’t like the result of their baking, and it was obvious from how the cake turned out.
"Hmm, at least we know this is not for us." Ranon put the cake away, keeping it out of Ashlyn’s reach.
"Cake, cake... My cake." Ashlyn bent her body over, making it difficult for Ranon to hold her.
"No, let’s buy another cake." Hazel took her daughter from Ranon. "Let’s take a bath and play sowhere."
After attempting to bake the cake, they ended up rather dirty with flour and other ingredients.
Hazel took Ashlyn to the bathroom and started to undress herself, at which her daughter started giggling. "Boobies!" She exclaid.
"No, no more boobies for you."
Ashlyn pursed her lips as Hazel undressed her, too, and tossed the dirty clothes to the side, but Ashlyn ran out of the bathroom, butt naked, to approach Ranon, who had just entered the bedroom.
"Ashlyn! Co here!"
"Dad! Boobies!"
Ranon held back a smile as he responded to it. "Hmm. Where are they?"
anwhile, Hazel, who heard this conversation, wanted to facepalm herself. What was wrong with this father and daughter?

They had lunch in the shopping center near the apartnt, the building that Ranon showed to Ashlyn the other day.
After that, the two of them took her to play until she was exhausted, so the little girl fell asleep on their way to the Rose family’s house.
Daniel had already been there when they arrived. He was having a conversation with Dylan.
The eldest brother of hers was as cold as ever. He had never tried to apologize to Hazel, nor did he fully acknowledge what he had done wrong. He even thought that he had done Hazel a favor by getting her together with Ranon.
In truth, he was still upset because even though Ranon and Hazel were together now, he didn’t get what he wanted.
Yet, Hazel couldn’t care less about it.
Daniel was still in his wheelchair, smiling and making small talk about business and all that went into it. He was as charming as ever.
"Here, I hope she will like it," Daniel said, handing over the present to Hazel, while Ashlyn was still sleeping in Ranon’s arms.
Not long after, Greyson ca and approached his granddaughter, but as she was sleeping, he didn’t take her from Ranon.
"Lay her down in Hazel’s old room; it is not comfortable for her to sleep that way. Soone will look after her."
"Okay." Ranon then walked to the second floor. He knew where Hazel’s room was, and Hazel followed him.
"So, have you taken them away from my room?" Hazel asked, crossing her arms in annoyance. She didn’t expect Ranon to bug her room and listen to her conversation with Rafael.
Ranon laid Ashlyn down on the bed and then stared at the whole room. "It has not yet changed at all. I rembered watching you climb over that window. Where did you go at that ti?"
Hazel didn’t really rember where she had gone. "I don’t know. I am not sure. I went sowhere to retrieve information..." Hazel then narrowed her eyes at him. "Are you trying to change the topic?"
"You look so cute when you are upset," Ranon said with amusent.
"I am going to be fabulous if you don’t start talking." She wanted to know if the device caught sothing. Well, she didn’t expect anything; she was only curious.
Ranon then walked over to a cabinet and reached out his hand to grab sothing under it. Hazel couldn’t believe she didn’t check there.
But then, in her defense, how could she have expected to be bugged in her own bedroom with her ’Hazel’s identity’? There would be nothing interesting about her.
In total, there were three devices. Ranon handed them over to Hazel. "They are no longer working."
"I shouldn’t expect less from you."
Ranon leaned over and kissed her lips, but right at that ti, Logan opened the door to inform them that they were expected to be in the dining room.
"Hey! The food..." The word hung in the air as he stared at the two of them. "... can wait. Continue. I will tell them you are busy." Logan then glanced at Ashlyn, who was sleeping on the bed. "Do you want to take her?"
Hazel pushed Ranon away. This stupid brother of hers had a misunderstanding. "Thank you, it’s very considerate of you, but you don’t need to do that," Hazel said sarcastically. She saw a young maid behind Logan’s back.
Hazel rembered she was the sa maid that Logan had screwed over in the kitchen almost two years ago. She must be the one who would look after Ashlyn.
"If she wakes up, bring her right away to ," Hazel instructed her.
"Yes, Miss."
Hazel was still a ’Miss’ in this household. The young maid didn’t even dare to look Hazel in the eyes; she must still rember that night, too.
"Let’s go." Hazel pushed Logan out of the room, just in case he decided to stay a little bit longer and ss around with the young maid in her daughter’s presence.
After that, they had a rather peaceful dinner with a birthday cake sitting in the middle of the table.
Halfway through dinner, Ashlyn woke up, and the young maid ca over to bring her to Hazel.
However, Hazel noticed sothing: Logan was a little bit off, as if his mind was not there. He was rather quiet. For soone like him, being quiet was rather questionable.
"I want to smoke for a while," Logan excused himself. He stood up and walked away, despite Greyson’s admonition.
Sothing was not right with him, and Hazel was curious. She then told Ranon that she would go out for a while.
Ranon took Ashlyn to his lap and let her leave the room as he carried on with the conversation with Greyson.
Hazel knew Logan’s favorite smoking spot in this house. She hoped she wouldn’t catch him with so maid or any other woman. She was not even sure why she followed him.
She probably grew to care about him after their heart-to-heart conversation months ago. Even though it was not often, they would text each other from ti to ti.
Under the garden lamp, Hazel saw Logan smoking, but he was also on the phone. He looked agitated to the point that he didn’t even realize that Hazel walked closer to him.
But it might be because Hazel was accustod to moving silently, and her presence was very low; therefore, she could catch others off guard.
When Hazel was close enough to hear the conversation, she caught Logan in a heated argunt with soone over the phone.
"Put on the phone with Archie," Logan said. His tone was demanding. Lately, he had been very upset every ti Greyson ntioned Ashlyn as his first grandchild.
He shouldn’t have felt this way, but he couldn’t help it.
"Now! I don’t care if that man is there! Get him to the phone!" Logan hissed viciously. He gripped the phone tightly until his knuckles turned red. "Put Archie on the phone!"
Hazel was curious who Archie was and why Logan looked furious.
"I don’t give a fuck about him! Get Archie to the phone, or I will go over there and talk to him in person!" He threatened whoever was on the phone with him.
Hazel felt it was ti for her to leave. This was not a conversation she should have heard. But then, her curiosity got the better of her, and she stayed.
More so, she was not sneaking around to eavesdrop on the conversation. Logan simply didn’t realize that she was there.
Logan listened to what the other person said and then remained quiet for a long mont before he finally spoke again. This ti, his tone softened.
"Hi. How was your first football practice? Did you enjoy it?"
Hazel was surprised; she didn’t expect Logan to use that tone with soone. It felt as if he was talking to a child. It reminded her of when Logan was talking to Ashlyn.
"Great! I know you will ace it!" He laughed cheerfully. "Did you make a friend? Hmm... Hmm... It will be fine; you will find so in your next practice."
Hazel crossed her arms. She tried to guess who Logan was talking to, but then he chose that mont to turn around and saw Hazel.
"Shit!" Logan cursed out loud. The phone almost slipped from his hand, and he imdiately caught it. "No, I am sorry. It’s not you. There is a big stray dog here. I will call you back later!" Logan said in panic. "No, it’s okay. It will not bite . Okay, I will call you again later. Bye." He hung up the phone.
"A big stray dog?" Hazel caught the words, and now she was pissed. "Who do you call a stray dog?"
"What are you doing here?! You shouldn’t have eavesdropped on soone else’s conversation! Didn’t your parents teach you that?" Logan was in a panic, so he just blurted out whatever crossed his mind.
"Unfortunately, no. My mother is dead, my father didn’t care about , and my two brothers are assholes." Hazel approached Logan like a predator stalking their prey. "I don’t bite, but I can kick asses."
"Hey! Let’s talk about this, okay? There is no need for violence." Logan took a step back instinctively. "You heard wrong; I said, ’My cute sister is here.’"
