Their eting would be safe from the dia, right? Ares didn’t want to deal with the PR.
Right now, because of the company’s rapid growth under Ranon’s lead, the dia had their eyes on him. He beca even more incredulously attractive because he was still single, which only added to his popularity among the opposite sex.
Therefore, if there was a picture of Ranon and Hazel together, Ares could imagine the headache that he had to deal with to give an explanation.
"Why do you think he is obsessed with her?" Lucian crossed his arms and leaned his back lazily against the recliner. "Do you think that woman took his virginity?" He talked recklessly, blinked his eyes, and then realized sothing. "Do you think Ranon is a virgin?"
"He was with Emma for three years, rember? Do you think they never did it?"
"Ranon was so young."
Ares rolled his eyes; that excuse was ridiculous. "We are almost at the sa age, and you had slept with almost all the won on the campus when you were his age."
Lucian grinned when he heard that, as if he was being praised, as if that fact was sothing that he could brag about.
"That’s not a complint," Ares grumbled. He made a few calls related to business, and Lucian overlooked their business deals since they had three hours of free ti before the eting continued.
anwhile, Ranon arrived at the airport right in ti when he saw Hazel. Her long, curly brown hair was tied on top of her head into a ssy bun, making her face look too small for her head.
He picked up his phone and ignored a few missed calls from Ares and Lucian, as he called her. "On your left, white car."
"There are three white cars; which one?"
Ranon honked impatiently, and Hazel jumped in surprise; she imdiately went to the right white car, where she was greeted by the furious Ranon. "Hi," she said, but he simply reminded her to put on the seatbelt.
"We will talk about this later. I have a few more etings."
"Okay."
She didn’t know where they were going, but she was too tired to think and take a nap for a while, since Ranon didn’t try to engage in a conversation with her.
When the car stopped, Hazel woke up almost imdiately; she was quick to tune in with her surroundings, and this didn’t go unnoticed by Ranon. He had seen her being alert even when she was sleeping. A habit that didn’t suit a daughter of a prestigious family.
"There is a room inside my office; you can stay there until I finish with my etings."
"I feel like I am having an affair with you."
"Unfortunately, we do have that kind of relationship."
"What do you an with ’unfortunately’?"
Ranon opened his car door and then waited for Hazel to co with him. There was a parking spot, where he parked his car, next to a private lift that would take them directly to his office.
Hazel followed him, and he took her right to his office, where she saw two n sitting opposite each other, where a long table was placed between them. Both of them were dumbstruck.
"Hi," Hazel greeted them, waving at them awkwardly because they stared at her as if she had two heads, especially when Ranon led her to the small room in his office.
This small room looked so neat, with a queen-size bed and a closet. A small table and a bathroom inside, making his life easier if he needed to rest or get ready for his next event. This room slled like him.
"Wait here," Ranon said.
"Until?"
"Until I am done."
"When?"
"When I am done."
Hazel felt the urge to throw her sneaker at his head, but the man had left, and she didn’t want to start their conversation with violence.
She ca here without taking anything with her, only a bag, which she stuffed her laptop inside, her passport, her wallet, her phone, and that was it.
When she landed, Logan asked whether she had t with Ranon or not. This was ridiculous to see him act like a brother, but he insisted on it, claiming that he did this to piss their father and Dylan off.
While waiting for Ranon, Hazel opened her laptop and started to look into her family’s information, but her access was denied. The sa thing happened when she checked on the Barlowe family.
From the look of it, Arlo had strengthened the security, and the only way for Hazel to enter was using her identity.
She contemplated it for a while before she decided it was not the right ti to leave any trace of her. From what she knew, Arlo’s people were still combing Aspen River, the river where she fell that night.
Yet, it was still calm, which ant her father had not yet learned about her death. What was he thinking? Did he think she was running away?
Hazel clicked her tongue and typed away on her laptop as she waited for Ranon, but the man only finished his eting when it was close to midnight, and Hazel had fallen asleep by that ti with her laptop on her stomach.
Ranon approached her to get a better look at what she was looking for, but Hazel woke up before he could see what was on the screen and closed her laptop.
"Are you done now?" Hazel stretched her body. "Before we talk, can we go eat sothing? I am hungry; I have not yet eaten anything since this morning, and you didn’t even have any initiative to send a plate of food." Hazel shook her head, as if she was disappointed, while Ranon knitted his brows.
He completely forgot about that. He rembered her to be in this room but forgot about feeding her.
This was the reason why he didn’t like to have a pet. Too demanding of his attention.
