Laurel didn’t want to confront Jas right there and then because she knew it would cause a scene, and they were still in the wedding. She didn’t want to ruin this mont, nor did she want to air her family’s dirty laundry.

"I will use your phone for a while," Laurel said and then walked away without waiting for Jas to reply. She called Daniel and asked where he was. "I will co to you."

Daniel was sitting in his wheelchair, watching the fireworks that split the night beautifully when Laurel found him.

"Ranon wasted our family’s money for this party," Laurel said sardonically. Like always, she misplaced her anger and frustration.

"The money that he works for." Daniel smiled at Laurel. "We would have been in big trouble if he didn’t step in and save our company."

"Whatever." Laurel was standing behind Daniel’s wheelchair; her focus was no longer on her brother or their conversation, as she started scouring Jas’s phone.

She couldn’t find any suspicious texts in his ssages, and when she looked for the call log, she found out that Jas put Alia’s na under Gilbert’s na; he was one of Jas’s business partners, but he was smart enough to make one different word to differentiate the two of them.

After that, Laurel used the na to search the entire ssage or anything that related to it, but still, she couldn’t find anything until she found an app that she had never seen before.

From the history, Jas just downloaded the app yesterday. It was a ti when they ca to this city to attend the wedding; therefore, the chat log was only from yesterday and today, but it was enough for Laurel to get the gist of the whole situation.

Her stomach churned when she read the ssage; her heart was racing, and she saw red. There was this hot white rage that washed over her as she hyperventilated.

"Are you okay?" Jas asked; he turned his head, but because of their position, it was hard for him to see Laurel’s face clearly. "What happened?" He could feel Laurel was shaking because she used the wheelchair to support her body to prevent her from falling to the ground and wailing in pain. "Laurel?"

[We will be a family again.]

That was what Alia texted Jas, and the reply devastated her.

[Yes. I can’t wait for that mont.]

It took everything in Laurel not to break down and cry. The world was beautiful, the wedding was perfect, and the fireworks sealed the day.

However, Laurel felt ti stop for her. She was trapped in this darkness, inside the pain that she had never imagined before and the dark thought that rushed into her mind.

Laurel couldn’t hear Daniel’s voice, asking her over and over again.

It felt like soone stabbed her right in the gut and twisted the knife to make it more painful for her. She couldn’t do this...

All Laurel could see was Jas and Alia fooling around behind her back, laughing at her ignorance, and she hated to be humiliated that way.

There was a new text that ca, and Laurel read it through her blurry eyes.

[Carl gave the sa answer too. He is really our son.]

In the background, the song changed, and a few people ca to the dance floor for the last dance tonight when Greyson ca to Hazel and asked for this dance with her.

Hazel was tired; she wanted to sleep. Ranon went away to give her so alone ti, taking all the people with him so they wouldn’t bother her. Hazel was grateful for that since she didn’t need to deal with a lot of people who had nothing to do with her.

"Co and have a dance with your father." Greyson stood in front of Hazel, who was sitting alone.

She looked at him and saw Dylan sitting on the bar, drinking away his bad mood. He had been in such a foul mood ever since she saw him, while Logan was trying to get his way with Olivia, who was so close to pushing him off the cliff.

"Don’t make this awkward," Greyson said; his small smile didn’t falter, but he would keep bothering Hazel if he didn’t get what he wanted, especially when they were in public like this.

Not wanting to draw people’s attention to her, Hazel stood up and took his hand as his father carefully took her to the dance floor, and they started to dance slowly, following the slow instrunt.

"Congratulations on your marriage," Greyson said after a full two minutes of awkward silence as they moved on the dance floor.

"Thank you."

It was a small thing, but Greyson noticed; Hazel was no longer calling him father in the way she used to.

"I know this is not the marriage that you wanted, and you are forced to go through it because of the mistake that Dylan made."

’Mistake.’.

Even now, Greyson only acknowledged that what Dylan had done was only a mistake. If Hazel didn’t have any hidden agenda, she would have killed Dylan for what he had done.

Yet, she was not in the mood to argue about it, so she kept silent and let Greyson continue with his monologue.

"But you need to rember that you are still part of the Rose family." Greyson cleared his throat. For whatever reason, it was so hard for him to say the next word. "If Ranon hurts you or any mber of the Leighton family mistreats you, you can co back."

Hazel was trying to guess what Greyson’s real intention was with this conversation, but all she could see was this awkwardness in his eyes.

Both of them felt uncomfortable with this topic, yet Greyson continued.

"You still have your family."

"Do you an the family that kept ignoring for years?" Hazel blinked her eyes innocently. "Don’t worry; if I can survive the Rose family, the Leighton family is a walk in the garden."
