Marcus was soone whom Olivia t when she ran away from ho for the first ti.
He just joined the wrong crowd at the ti they t and actually helped her when she was being assaulted.
For a few weeks Olivia stayed with him and his sister until her father found her and dragged her back ho without giving her a chance to say goodbye to them.
But Olivia tried to find him again. Her father almost killed Marcus when he found out about their relationship.
It took so long for Olivia to finally regain her composure; her eyes were blurry because of the tears. Yet, when she lifted her head, she saw what she missed before.
They were wildflowers.
Marcus brought her wildflowers.
He used to do that a lot in the past, particularly when he had nothing. When he even struggled to put food on the table and feed his sister, yet he opened his door for Olivia and let her stay.
Olivia missed that young man, who always smiled and did small, sweet things for her.
The young man, who gave her kisses on the forehead...
On the other hand, Marcus returned to his crowd because he had nowhere to go. He accepted more missions.
At the very least, he could accomplish sothing. He knew he was wrong, but he didn’t know how to fix himself...

"What do you an you can’t find anything?" Arthur asked, his voice hard.
Arthur was on the phone with one of his people. He was not happy to hear the news about it.
A few days ago he gave an order to find out where Arlo and Aubrey were at the ti when River disappeared, but as it turned out, his n couldn’t find anything suspicious. It was the sa as what Arlo had explained.
He was with Aubrey in a bar together. There was a record of them there too. That was why the evidence was very clear, but Arthur felt there was sothing missing.
"I have sent you the record about that night when Arlo and Aubrey entered the bar. They stayed there until the next day and then went to a hotel together."
Arthur was furious when he watched the record where Aubrey was being affectionate with Arlo. He could imagine why River was really hurt by this betrayal.
He was angry with Aubrey too and also felt deeply disappointed in Arlo, since he thought this man could do better.
This line of work required you to be loyal. Traitors were not acceptable, and for Arlo and Aubrey to cheat behind River’s back, it was unforgivable.
It was another form of betrayal in Arthur’s eyes.
"And also, Olivia has returned to her apartnt, but she has been staying inside and refusing to leave as her boyfriend keeps coming."
Arthur didn’t pay attention to Olivia, but because she was the daughter of one of his trusted n, he knew how the relationship between Olivia and her parents was and also who this shithead boyfriend of hers was.
"I am going to co over," Arthur said, and then he cut off the phone call.
Right now, he was in River’s bedroom. Her bedroom had not yet changed since the last ti she stayed here. It was dull, and there were not many things here.
Arthur rembered that Aubrey’s bedroom was always filled with the latest brands of new clothes, toys, and dolls.
But River didn’t have that; ever since she occupied this bedroom, she had never decorated it, and when Arthur went to her wardrobe, where he could find her old clothes, they were very simple.
You could see the stark difference between River and Aubrey. He stared at the piles of clothes, deep in thought.
He had been spending his ti in this room very often. There was also a day when he even did his work here and only ca out when he needed to sleep.
Elise didn’t pay attention to him because she was so busy with her party and social life.
Arthur didn’t mind it, because that was how she was, and then when he went to River’s desk, he saw sothing that he recognized almost imdiately.
It was a book in which River used to draw. Yes, she loved drawing.
Arthur opened it and flipped the pages. For the first ti, he appreciated them. He acknowledged her talent. Her drawings look gloomy and dark, but at the sa ti, they were captivating and mysterious.
Most of the ti, she would draw a long road as if soone was going on a long journey.
It was only a road with no end, or even a long hallway, as though if you walked there, you would walk forever.
There was no end.
You couldn’t see the end of these roads.
Arthur then rembered the past when he taught River how to make a plan. The mories were flooding back to his mind as if they happened only yesterday.
’The strong attacks. While the weak defend. If you are not strong enough, all you can do is draw in your choice; bide your ti before you gain the strength and can finally launch the attack. You need to rember that.’
River was only seventeen when she received the first mission. She was so young to kill soone, and yet she was very skillful.
Arthur rembered that, at the sa ti River had to go for a mission where she put her life at stake to kill soone, Aubrey was going to a prom.
She was dressing beautifully, looking perfect and sweet, yet on the other hand, his other daughter was like a shadow.
’Use whatever or whoever is in front of you to achieve your goal.’ That was what Arthur taught River.
"What are you going to do now, River? You are planning sothing, right? What is your plan?" Arthur had been thinking about it a lot, yet he couldn’t find the answer. "Where are you, my child?"
Arthur stared at the long road that River drew...
