In the end, the man’s ambush didn’t succeed; he was undoubtedly furious and imdiately returned to Seraphina Sinclair’s side, directly stretching out his hand to slap her.
Then he viciously shoved Seraphina against the wall, slapping her face twice in quick succession, "You stinking woman, how dare you tip them off! See if I won’t kill you today!" The man swore, pulling out a knife and brandishing it in front of Seraphina.
"If that’s the case, then you can go to hell!"
Seeing the glaring blade, fear overwheld Seraphina entirely; the mory of the great fire five years ago seed to appear before her, leaving her unable to move or escape.
"No...don’t!" Seraphina opened her mouth, unable to utter a single word.
Before the man could bring down the knife, Austin White attacked from behind, directly restraining his throat.
"Speak! Who sent you?" Austin knew whoever could call in reinforcents so quickly must have planned this in advance.
For that reason, they should question thoroughly to uncover the truth.
"Dream on! I won’t tell you!"
Soon, the sound of a police siren echoed from outside the parking lot.
During the fight, Austin had already used his custom-designed portable watch to report to the police, who tracked him through the watch’s location, and naturally found their way here.
Seraphina stood frozen, seeing Austin safe and sound, finally relieved, collapsing weakly to the ground.
"Godmother, what’s wrong with you!"
After assisting the police with a brief report and having the kidnappers taken away, Austin turned back to see Seraphina collapsed in a faint on the ground.
"Godmother! Don’t scare , okay? Get up quickly!"
No matter how loudly Austin called out, Seraphina remained motionless, clearly unconscious.
Feeling anxious, Austin imdiately carried Seraphina in his arms and drove directly toward ho.
To ensure Seraphina received tily treatnt upon returning ho, Austin had already arranged with a doctor, set a ti with him, and headed toward Seraphina’s villa.
To not delay her treatnt, Austin didn’t even park the car at the parking lot but pulled into the yard, hurriedly carrying her inside.
At this mont, Desmond Fairchild had just returned ho not long ago; seeing no one inside, he felt curious, intending to call Seraphina, unexpectedly encountering this scene.
"Quickly, Dr. Zane, check on my godmother to see what’s happening!"
As Desmond played with his phone in the living room, intending to call Seraphina, Austin’s voice suddenly ca from the doorway.
Quickly afterward, Austin carried Seraphina through the door, followed by a man with a dical kit.
"Austin, what’s wrong with her? Why are you both together?"
Seeing Seraphina unconscious, Desmond anxiously rushed to Austin’s side, nervously looking at the woman in his arms, his tone filled with urgency.
Already anxious, Austin felt his temper flare instantly upon Desmond’s constant questioning, imdiately yelling, "Get out of the way; can’t you see what’s wrong with your wife?"
Desmond, already harboring grudges against Austin, now seeing Seraphina injured with him, instantly had a cold expression.
Seizing Seraphina from Austin’s arms, Desmond exuded an intimidating presence, speaking coldly, "Since you know she’s my wife, you’re not the one to command here. If tonight’s incident is related to you, don’t expect any rcy from !"
With that said, Desmond imdiately carried Seraphina upstairs, completely ignoring Austin’s feelings behind him.
Austin clenched his fists tightly, feeling a sudden emptiness in his arms, yet realizing he shouldn’t have vented his anger on Desmond.
Caring was chaotic; Austin sighed anxiously.
"Mr. White, should I follow them upstairs?" Waiting until Desmond left, Dr. Zane finally dared to ask after following Austin all along.
"Go on, check on her thoroughly."
After instructing Dr. Zane, Austin imdiately turned to leave.
"Doctor, how is my wife?"
Despite Desmond’s complete rejection of Austin’s presence, he hadn’t dismissed the doctor, knowing at such a crucial mont, aside from Dr. Zane brought by Austin, he found no better choice.
Granted permission by Desmond, Dr. Zane began diagnosing Seraphina while Desmond persistently questioned.
Fortunately, Dr. Zane, as an acclaid Chinese dicine practitioner in Bayside City, wasn’t overly reliant on machines like Western dicine, able to determine Seraphina’s condition rely through pulse diagnosis.
After finishing the pulse diagnosis, Dr. Zane imdiately approached Desmond with a serious deanor, "Mr. Fairchild, I have diagnosed Miss Sinclair’s pulse earlier; she hasn’t sustained any external injuries, but her condition is very unstable. Could you tell whether Miss Sinclair already suffered from neurological diseases before?"
Dr. Zane, esteed in Bayside City for his exceptional dical skills, could determine through the pulse that Seraphina’s current unconscious state wasn’t due to the kidnapping but rather a long-standing issue.
Dr. Zane’s question left Desmond speechless; after all, he and Seraphina had only recently t, so he only had a superficial understanding of her past.
"No! Save the fire! Get away from ! No! Dad..."
In the midst of Desmond and Dr. Zane’s conversation, Seraphina lying on the bed suddenly spoke in a dazed manner, ntioning things like saving a fire.
"Mr. Fairchild, as you can see, Miss Sinclair’s condition is very unstable. I suspect she might have had diseases like depression. How about I prescribe so sedatives for now? Once she wakes up, we can plan further, but please rember, don’t agitate her again; psychological issues must be treated with psychological redies."
Given her pulse, Dr. Zane could only provide temporary sedation treatnt for Seraphina, unaware of her condition upon waking.
Listening to Dr. Zane, Desmond imdiately nodded, recalling Jude’s prior advice about paying special attention to Seraphina’s ntal state. Feeling regretful for not discovering earlier, he could only nod and say, "Thank you, Dr. Zane."
After sending off Dr. Zane, Desmond stayed near Seraphina, not leaving her side, even personally preparing her dicine.
All night long, Seraphina murmured in her sleep, ntioning saving a fire and Jude.
Desmond surmised that Seraphina hadn’t seen her son for a long ti, naturally missing him. Early the next morning, he imdiately called Quentin Jennings, asking him to bring the child back. Old Mrs. Fairchild, although reluctant, agreed upon learning about Seraphina’s situation.
"Mommy!"
Upon hearing about his mother’s illness, Jude Sinclair hurriedly followed Quentin Jennings back, ran all the way to Seraphina’s room, and rushed directly to his mother’s bedside.
