"Why?" Seraphina Sinclair touched her hair. "Is my outfit not suitable?"

"With such a beautiful and captivating wife, surely many people will try to talk to you later. I will beco the center of attention," Desmond Fairchild said leisurely.

Seraphina’s cheeks imdiately flushed with two rosy spots. "Then you should be glad to have such a beautiful companion," she replied.

Desmond gallantly extended his hand, signaling Seraphina to take his arm. With a slight smile on his handso face, he said, "It’s an honor to stand beside Her Majesty."

At the entrance of the charity gala.

Reporters were packed layer upon layer on both sides of the red carpet, and their caras kept flashing with lights, engaged in whispered conversations.

"Did you hear that lanie Lloyd from the Lloyd Group was detained? She can’t even attend the auction today—must have offended soone."

"Your news is outdated. I heard the person she offended was the new head parachuted into Kevin Group. Who knows who that big shot is to have such influence."

"..."

Seraphina, holding Desmond’s arm, slowly walked into the venue, the charity gala yet to begin, with people gathered in groups chatting.

The two of them, a perfect couple, beca the center of attention the mont they entered.

The man, dressed in a formal suit, had one hand in his pocket as he slowly walked in with the woman beside him. From the mont they appeared, they exuded an imnse sense of authority, a deanor of soone accustod to high status.

With his tall stature, just a slight glance from him conveyed an air of supre dominance.

The man instantly attracted many eyes, with several people whispering guesses about his identity.

Shirley Lynch, surrounded by many at the center, chatting and laughing, caught a glimpse of the pair entering the venue with the corner of her eye. Her face changed as she moved toward Desmond.

"Seraphina Sinclair, I never thought you’d appear here. You must have co with Desmond, shaless," Shirley sneered, her tone sarcastic.

In Shirley’s mind, Seraphina was rely soone exploiting Desmond’s power and wealth to get close to him.

As for the child, who knows whose illegitimate offspring it might be!

"Oh, it’s you," Seraphina said.

Seraphina glanced up and down at Shirley, shook her head, and directly ignored her, turning to Desmond. "Let’s go, the auction is about to start. We shouldn’t waste ti on irrelevant people."

"Irrelevant?" Shirley gnashing her teeth in anger, wanted to step forward to argue, but Desmond stopped her. "Miss Lynch, please have so self-respect."

After saying that, he turned and headed in Seraphina’s direction.

"Seraphina Sinclair, just you wait!" Shirley clenched her fists tightly, her chest heaving with each breath.

Desmond turned his head to look at Shirley, his eyes cold, making her shiver involuntarily.

Who does Shirley Lynch think she is? How dare she threaten his woman?

Seeing Shirley avert her gaze, Desmond refocused his attention on Seraphina, who was leading him forward, with a gentle expression.

The nearby conversations grew louder, and Quentin Jennings naturally noticed Desmond, curling his lips—no wonder they insisted he co to the gala last minute, afraid the Cloudsea Group folks would expose his identity.

He had planned a romantic evening with a lady friend today!

Desmond also seed to sense soone watching him and cast his gaze over, making Quentin stand straight imdiately and wave cheerfully.

"Is that Quentin Jennings?" Seraphina also noticed this scene.

"Yes," Desmond nodded.

Seraphina was puzzled. "He’s clearly your superior, yet he seems afraid of you."

"Must be because I used to beat him up as a kid," Desmond said.

Seraphina didn’t press further, finding a seat to settle in.
