Even though Seraphina Sinclair said so, Polo still seed skeptical. She lightly tugged on Seraphina’s sleeve and cautiously asked, "Isn’t my favorite butterfly shrimp made by Chloe? This uncle doesn’t look like he knows how to cook."
This was the first ti in Desmond Fairchild’s life that soone doubted him like this. No one had ever dared underestimate him, not even when he was very young, and today he was being underestimated by a little girl.
He wasn’t sure where this sudden sense of competitiveness ca from, but it left him quite unhappy, and he was ready to show off his skills in front of Polo.
"You want to cook, right now?" Seraphina couldn’t help but laugh but still tried to persuade him. "Co on, cooking with a child isn’t that important, work matters more, let’s head out first."
Desmond suddenly stood up and looked at Polo with a determined gaze, "No, I want to prove myself right now."
Seraphina was beyond exasperated, "Are you a child? The most important thing now is not proving to Polo that you can cook but the issue of cooperation between our two companies. Now that Kevin’s product is having problems, I’m sure your Cloudsea Group’s shareholders will hold an ergency eting. If you’re not there, it will just let Eric Holt get what he wants, won’t it?"
Seraphina’s thoughts were naturally also what Desmond could think of.
The problem with Kevin’s product was the perfect opportunity for Eric Holt to bring Desmond down.
If he teams up with so other shareholders to elect a new competent CEO, and the majority agrees to replace Desmond with Eric, then Adam Holt will kick Desmond out.
Things have co to such a serious point; this isn’t the ti for playing around. Polo’s matter can be addressed later. It’s crucial now to stabilize the other shareholders in the company so Eric has no chance to take advantage of the situation.
"Are you worried about ?" Desmond smiled.
Seraphina replied matter-of-factly, "If you’re not worried, I’m not going to bother. Even if you lose your job, I can support you."
She never cared about Desmond’s money. Sure, Desmond is wealthy, but Seraphina was even wealthier. Even if Desmond had nothing and needed her to support him, she wouldn’t mind.
It’s not just about supporting one man like Desmond; even if he brought ten like him, she could still afford it.
Desmond sotis wished Seraphina were just an ordinary person, a bit poorer, a bit less attractive, not as exceptional as she is now so he could feel a bit more important to her.
"What are you looking at? Isn’t that what I said?" Feeling a bit embarrassed under Desmond’s gaze, Seraphina quickly lowered her head to continue eating breakfast.
Desmond couldn’t help but admit Seraphina was right. He raised an eyebrow at her, "Since you’re telling to get to the office early, then I’ll go."
"That’s more like it." Seraphina nodded, quickly finished her breakfast, and then headed to work after settling the two kids.
After they left, Fiona Dunn and Rosalie Quinn peeked out of their room, their gossiping spirits instantly ablaze.
Fiona rubbed her chin and looked at Rosalie, "Do you think the two of them have reconciled? Is Seraphina better off with Desmond or Keith Hughes? I always feel things won’t go smoothly if they get together. If Professor Hughes knew about their situation, he might get furious."
"You ask too many questions." Rosalie held her coffee and didn’t intend to answer Fiona’s questions.
"I’m just curious. Honestly, I’ve never seen Desmond and Seraphina acting like they’re in love, it’s really hard to imagine." Fiona covered her mouth, giggling. Desmond is usually so serious and keeps a stern face around people he frequently ets. She’s really curious about what he’s like in a relationship.
Fiona’s words brought back mories for Rosalie. She knew very well what Desmond and Seraphina were like together before, so she couldn’t help but smile, "Once you see it, you’ll know."
"Then I’ll make sure to observe closely, and maybe so people can learn from it." Fiona clenched her little fists, thinking of Joel White made her feel restless.
She’s been in love with this man since childhood, for well over a decade, but he always seems oblivious, even pushing her away once or twice, which is just infuriating.
Seeing her feeling indignant, Rosalie softly comforted her, "Joel probably just hasn’t figured out his feelings for you yet. In my opinion, he does have feelings for you."
"But you’ve only t him a few tis, you don’t understand." Fiona held her face and sighed incessantly. Ever since Joel told her to stop pestering him, they hadn’t been in contact for a long ti.
She’s been deliberately ignoring him, and no matter how much she misses him, she’s restrained herself from reaching out.
Rosalie wasn’t interested in her feelings and wasn’t worried either. Though she wasn’t very close to Joel, she could see his feelings for Fiona. Joel acts mature beyond his years, even though he’s only in his early twenties. Perhaps he thinks he’s incompatible with Fiona’s lively nature, so he rejected her.
In reality, everyone understands the situation.
The two of them lay on the sofa, each lost in their thoughts, when suddenly Rosalie’s phone rang. She answered softly, "How co you have ti to call ?"
"Missed you." Simon Finch’s deep voice ca from the other end.
" too." Rosalie chuckled softly, a blush spreading across her face.
"Are you free today?"
"Of course, I’m always free, how? Young Master Finch wants to ask out?"
As soon as Simon spoke, Rosalie quickly replied, afraid if she took too long, he might go back to work overti.
Simon couldn’t help but laugh, "Well, I’d like to invite Miss Quinn for dinner. I wonder if Miss Quinn would honor with her company?"
Rosalie nodded imdiately, "Since you’re inviting so sincerely, I can’t refuse. See you at the usual place."
After hanging up, Rosalie waved at Fiona, looking excited, "I’ve got a date, young lady, so I can’t hang out with you. Amuse yourself."
Fiona glared at her without good humor, "Traitor!"
Everyone in this house seems to be in love, except for her, all alone, which is just pitiful.
The only comfort for Fiona is that Skylark doesn’t have a partner yet. Feeling bored, she knocked on Skylark’s door to chat, only to see Skylark all dressed up and apologizing, "Miss Dunn, I have to go out, let’s chat so other ti."
Watching Skylark walk away, Fiona felt like her soul was hit hard. Skylark dressed up so beautifully, she’s surely going on a date!
It turned out that in this villa, she’s really the only one who’s single.
