In fact, it was not so. Desmond Fairchild was not angry at all; instead, he calmly said, "I won’t do anything to you, but if you dare to marry soone else, I’ll kill them. In this life, you can never escape from my grasp."
Seraphina Sinclair listened to these words and couldn’t help but click her tongue, "Desmond, are you a tyrant? This is a society ruled by law, don’t go overboard."
"Stay obediently by my side, and these things won’t happen. Otherwise, I’ll do as I say." Desmond once again lifted Seraphina’s chin and planted a kiss on her red lips, declaring his sovereignty over her, "You will always be my Desmond Fairchild’s woman."
Desmond at this mont seed like a tyrant, and Seraphina had never seen this side of him before, though she was not afraid.
Instead, she directly challenged, "Don’t speak so confidently. You’re only so possessive because you like now. If one day you don’t love anymore, would you still care whom I’m with? Or, if I suddenly fell in love with soone else and my heart was no longer with you, what’s the point of holding onto ?"
"There is no ’if.’ My feelings for you will never change. If you fall out of love, I would never let you go." Desmond pinched Seraphina’s little face, making a domineering declaration, "And I won’t allow you to fall for soone else."
"No one can guarantee that we’ll love each other for a lifeti. Don’t be too confident in yourself." Seraphina slapped away Desmond’s large hand, feeling a bit depressed.
What they had just discussed were hypotheticals, but she didn’t think her perspective was wrong.
Feelings between people are inherently an unknown adventure.
The couple who loves each other today might break up tomorrow due to disagreents.
She and Desmond ca together because of Jude Sinclair. Even though they are very much in love now, there’s no guarantee that they will still be in love three, five, or even ten years from now.
It is said that love can’t withstand the test of ti, and she’s not sure how long she can love Desmond. She can only try her best to love him while she does, so that even if she stops loving him in the end, she won’t have any regrets.
However, Desmond didn’t think this way. To him, love is steadfast and enduring.
Once he loves soone, his feelings will never change until old age, even until death.
That’s why he was displeased with Seraphina’s words, and his face looked a little grim, but he didn’t continue to refute her, afraid of making Seraphina unhappy.
Her depression wasn’t cured yet, and she couldn’t be emotionally triggered.
Seeing Desmond silent, Seraphina didn’t know what to say to ease the atmosphere. Earlier, everything was fine. Maybe she’s too realistic, which made the situation awkward.
Thinking of this, Seraphina opened her mouth, intending to apologize.
Unexpectedly, Desmond spoke first, "Maybe you’re right. There are too many uncertainties in love, but I hope both of us can overco them, rather than choosing to escape or withdraw when problems arise."
"What are you thinking? Do you think I’m the kind of person who would break up with you at the slightest argunt?" Seraphina chuckled, "You’re underestimating . Don’t worry, if I were that petty, we’d have broken up 800 tis by now."
To think Desmond was upset because of this?
"I know you wouldn’t." Desmond curved his lips into a smile.
"Alright, alright, let’s not argue over sothing that doesn’t exist; it’s really unnecessary." With that, Seraphina rubbed her stomach, smiling at Desmond, "Honey, I’m a bit hungry."
Desmond indulgently shook his head, "What do you want to eat?"
"The usual, with extra green onions and no cilantro, please." Seraphina clasped her hands together in a gesture of thanks. It had been a while since she last tasted Desmond’s cooking, and she missed it dearly.
Since many maids had started working at the house, and Seraphina was unconscious at that ti, Desmond hadn’t stepped into the kitchen for nearly two months.
It’s rare that Seraphina’s condition has improved, and she can eat flavorful food again. When she finally had an appetite for sothing, Desmond naturally wanted to satisfy her.
Little did anyone know, Desmond personally cooking left the maids astonished.
Everyone was trained not to show expressions easily, yet when they learned Desmond was making soup for Seraphina, they all displayed incredulous looks.
They saw Desmond as a demigod, whose allure matched his strength—a role model adored by all the specially trained maids.
Previously, Desmond had shocked them by accompanying Seraphina without eating, drinking, or sleeping.
Now, what Desmond did once again refreshed their worldview, so much so that even the ones who never gossiped couldn’t help but whisper among themselves.
"Our President Fairchild truly is a romantic. The madam is really lucky."
"I think the madam is great too. She’s not only beautiful but also capable, a perfect match for our President Fairchild."
"But he really loves her. For a man to cook for his wife, even ordinary n might not do such a thing, let alone soone like Master Fairchild."
They envied, but had no ulterior motives towards Desmond.
Most maids admired Desmond, and naturally, they extended their feelings to Seraphina too. Only one maid nad Chloe Irving beca a little fan of Seraphina.
Listening to everyone praise Desmond for being so good and excellent, she chid in, "Our madam is so beautiful and gentle. Anyone would be willing to do anything for her."
Seraphina didn’t know that she won Chloe Irving over just by giving her a bottle of white ointnt for a scratch that day.
No one refuted Chloe’s words; everyone agreed.
In their words, birds of a feather flock together; Desmond and Seraphina are the perfect match.
So they had no good feelings towards the won who shalessly tried to fawn over Desmond, but treated Seraphina with utmost respect.
Seraphina understood all of this. She knew these maids, though here to serve her on Desmond’s orders, would surely despise her in their hearts if she were just a kept woman.
The rare gathering of maids was caught by Old Mrs. Fairchild.
She stood behind them with a kind smile, "What are you all looking at?"
"Madam, what brings you here?" Chloe Irving imdiately stepped out from the crowd to support her upon seeing Old Mrs. Fairchild.
"I was bored at the house, so I asked the driver to bring over. What interesting thing are you all gathered here to watch? Let this old woman have a look too." Old Mrs. Fairchild knew they were sensible people, so she wasn’t harsh with them, treating them as if they were her own family.
