Besides Old Mrs. Fairchild, there were quite a few people either standing or seated inside.

"What’s going on? Are they all your relatives?" Seraphina Sinclair instinctively tugged on Desmond Fairchild’s sleeve and asked in a low voice.

"Yes, don’t worry." Desmond Fairchild reassuringly held her hand in return and said with comfort.

When the two entered the room, Old Mrs. Fairchild imdiately noticed them, and their small private gestures naturally didn’t escape her attention. She nodded in satisfaction.

Her rather clueless grandson was finally showing signs of understanding.

"Grandma, good evening." Together, Seraphina Sinclair and Desmond Fairchild walked to the sofa to greet Old Mrs. Fairchild.

"Good evening, Seraphina. Let introduce you; this is Desmond’s eldest aunt and uncle, that is his younger aunt and uncle, and his youngest aunt." Old Mrs. Fairchild only introduced a few relatives that they interacted with more frequently to Seraphina Sinclair.

Following her introductions, Seraphina Sinclair looked over each one, finally stopping at Morgan Fairchild’s face, easily discerning the hostility in her eyes.

"Old Mrs. Fairchild, this must be Desmond’s girlfriend, right? She certainly is quite attractive." Seeing the old lady’s attitude, Myra Fairchild spoke warmly.

"Indeed, a few days ago I even saw her on the news. She’s the leader of Kevin Group; not only is she attractive, but she’s also very capable." Vera Vaughn chid in, unwilling to fall behind in complints.

Old Mrs. Fairchild bead as she kept Seraphina Sinclair close. Naturally, others ca over to engage in conversation with her, which was precisely Old Mrs. Fairchild’s goal for tonight.

The ladies mostly gathered around Seraphina Sinclair, while the n surrounded Desmond Fairchild, discussing company matters implicitly and explicitly.

Seraphina Sinclair, being a forr wealthy heiress, handled the complints and interactions among the elite won with ease, speaking and acting appropriately, ensuring others couldn’t underestimate her.

With Old Mrs. Fairchild’s attitude today, it seed there was no one daring enough to cause trouble. Even if so were discontent, they wouldn’t express it at such a ti.

Yet there were always those unaware of their own limits, insisting on being the first to cause trouble, especially when Old Mrs. Fairchild called Desmond Fairchild into the study. That’s when the mischief began.

Morgan Fairchild watched Seraphina Sinclair being surrounded by others, treated like the center of attention, and recalled the grievances she’d suffered before, jealousy bubbling up inside her.

"Tsk, there are always shaless people in this world, relying on their good looks to seduce others, always fantasizing about climbing the social ladder, utterly lacking in upbringing." Her sharp and piercing voice reached everyone’s ears.

Seraphina Sinclair slightly restrained her smile and turned her gaze to Morgan Fairchild, coldly observing her sharp and bitter deanor with clear eyes.

Morgan Fairchild always felt that under such a gaze, she appeared utterly pathetic, but since she had already spoken, she had no choice but to continue.

"Why are you all looking at ? I’m just stating facts. Wasn’t it quite the scandal a few days ago? Cutting into soone else’s marriage, now divorced, and seducing Desmond, without considering her own worth." Morgan Fairchild bluntly laid it all out, her gaze venomously fixed on Seraphina Sinclair.

"Aunt, you can eat indiscriminately, but you can’t make such careless remarks. Watch out, lest you be punished with a foul mouth." Seraphina Sinclair’s face darkened as she approached Morgan Fairchild, her gaze unapologetically direct.

"Tsk, putting on airs already? Hasn’t even entered the Fairchild family’s door, even if she marries Desmond, she’s just a second wife, like a wilted flower...Ah!!" Before Morgan Fairchild could finish, Seraphina Sinclair took a glass of wine from nearby and splashed it onto her face, prompting her to shriek.

"Aunt has such a foul mouth, she definitely didn’t brush her teeth before leaving ho. I’ll do a good deed and wash it for you." Seraphina Sinclair coldly eyed her.

Having rushed here straight from work without ti to remove her makeup, dressed in a won’s suit, Seraphina Sinclair’s cold and compelling deanor was highly intimidating, making the soaked Morgan Fairchild appear even more pathetic.

"Seraphina Sinclair!! I’m Desmond’s elder!" Morgan Fairchild was nearly hysterical.

"So what? You just ntioned, I haven’t married him yet, so you might be his elder, but not mine. Even if you were my elder, why should I feel any respect for you? A person like you doesn’t deserve to be anyone’s elder, spreading baseless rumors and tarnishing soone’s reputation in public." Seraphina Sinclair said coldly.

"Baseless rumors? Can you claim you’ve never been married before? Which part of my statent was false?" Morgan Fairchild unconsciously raised her voice.

"So having been married before ans one’s a wilted flower after divorce? Thank goodness your generation still cherishes such archaic feudal ideas." Seraphina Sinclair sneered.

"You! Well, it’s still the truth. No matter how much you argue, the fact that you’ve been divorced won’t change." Morgan Fairchild fixated on Seraphina Sinclair’s previous divorce relentlessly.

"Yes, I’ve been divorced, so what? Is there a law against it, or is divorcing so immoral? Furthermore, my past is none of your business." Seraphina Sinclair was unashad of her past.

As Morgan Fairchild had pointed out, it was a fact she couldn’t change. But why should it matter? Everyone has a past, she just happened to encounter a terrible person back then, which wasn’t her fault.

"Don’t be too confident in what you say. Of course, you don’t care about your past, but what about Desmond? How do you know he doesn’t mind?" Morgan Fairchild furiously retorted.

Seraphina Sinclair involuntarily clenched her hand, showing no hint of weakness or retreat on her face.

She slightly raised her chin, just about to speak when Old Mrs. Fairchild’s voice suddenly ca through: "What’s happening here?"

Seraphina Sinclair looked at the two approaching from the stairs, feeling uncomfortable. She wouldn’t admit that what Morgan Fairchild said wasn’t completely indifferent to her.

"What’s happening? Morgan, what are you up to now?

" Old Mrs. Fairchild walked over to Seraphina Sinclair, looking at the soaked and pathetic Morgan Fairchild.

"Mom! Desmond’s girlfriend is really sothing. She’s so brazen even before marrying. What will happen once she’s in the family?!" Morgan Fairchild exasperatedly exclaid.

"Shut up! Do I not know your personality by now? I bet this issue tonight was mostly caused by you. I understand Seraphina well enough, if you hadn’t actively provoked her, she wouldn’t have paid any mind to you." Old Mrs. Fairchild gave her a stern look.
