Rachel Shaw had just been rescued. She wasn’t physically injured, but she was terribly shaken, hiding in the hospital room and trembling uncontrollably.
A group of doctors gathered around her, but she held her head, refusing to let them approach.
"Is there nothing you want to say?"
Standing outside, watching the scene, Damien Lancaster questioned Ivy Sumrs.
Ivy Sumrs was a bit surprised at first, thinking Rachel Shaw was pretending. But upon closer inspection, the genuine fear, as if she had lost her soul, couldn’t be feigned.
"What happened to her?" Ivy was puzzled at how Rachel Shaw could have suddenly beco like this.
Damien Lancaster turned to look at her. "You should be the one to answer that."
"?" Ivy Sumrs looked up to et Damien Lancaster’s gaze.
Two seconds later, she understood, "You suspect that I did sothing to make her like this?"
"The Shaw Family searched for her all day. An hour ago, I just found her. By then, she had already fainted. She wasn’t physically injured, but when she woke up and we asked her, all she did was cry. The doctors said she was severely traumatized, on the verge of a ntal breakdown, and if it got any worse, she’d go mad," Damien Lancaster said in a low voice.
"Ivy Sumrs, don’t you think this is going too far?"
No physical injuries, yet she’s on the brink of a ntal collapse, almost turning into a madwoman.
You can only imagine how ruthless such ans are.
"So, Damien Lancaster, you’re suspecting of this, aren’t you?" Ivy Sumrs retorted with a question instead.
Damien Lancaster pressed his lips tightly together, his silence implying acquiescence.
Ivy Sumrs’ mood had been sowhat better with the children, but now it turned icy cold again.
Inside the hospital room, Rachel Shaw saw the people outside and charged like a frantic beast. Because her leg was still in a cast, her stumbling around, clutching the wall as she charged, looked rather comical. She rushed in front of Ivy Sumrs and gripped her shoulders.
"Ivy Sumrs, it’s you, it’s all because of you."
It was all her, because of her.
If it weren’t for Ivy Sumrs, she wouldn’t have gotten involved with that terrifying man, Noah Scott.
If it weren’t for Ivy Sumrs, Damien Lancaster would have co to rescue her.
She wouldn’t have suffered so much; it’s all Ivy Sumrs’ doing.
Rachel Shaw crazily pulled at Ivy Sumrs, her nails sharp and about to scratch Ivy Sumrs’ face. Seeing this, Damien Lancaster reached out to pull Rachel Shaw away, "Rachel, that’s enough!"
Rachel Shaw saw Damien Lancaster still protecting Ivy Sumrs and raised her eyes to look at him. They were bloodshot, looking especially frightening. At this mont, she was like a child who had suffered a great grievance, bursting into tears.
"Damien, why didn’t you co to save ? I only had one opportunity to call for help, and I called you. I only called you. Why wouldn’t you save ..."
Rachel Shaw’s words were heart-wrenching.
Damien Lancaster’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, guilt surfacing in his bottomless eyes.
If only he had believed Rachel Shaw earlier, she wouldn’t have been tornted for an entire day.
Seeing her like this... even if she was in the wrong, her cri wasn’t this severe.
Rachel Shaw, crying, took a deep breath, "Damien, you didn’t believe when I told you she wanted to kill . Now that you see like this, do you believe ? I almost didn’t make it back today, it’s all her doing."
Rachel Shaw recalled the events of the day, where she was hung by a rope like a toy, continuously thrown from high altitudes by that man, who then pulled her up again, only to throw her back down.
And the rope was not anything like a bungee cord, it was a thin rope. Every ti she fell and the rope tightened, she felt like it was about to snap, and she would plumt into an abyss.
This fear of the unknown, over and over again, she didn’t know how many tis she endured it. Her voice failed from screaming, the cold wind cut into her mouth like a knife. It was even more tornting than being directly killed.
Rachel Shaw closed her eyes, ignoring her leg injury, hysterically lunging toward Ivy Sumrs, reaching out to scratch her.
Ivy Sumrs retreated to a safe distance while Damien Lancaster blocked Rachel Shaw. Rachel couldn’t touch Ivy Sumrs at all.
Rachel Shaw turned her head painfully towards Damien Lancaster. "Damien, you’re still stopping ? You’re still siding with her? She wants to kill and you didn’t co to save , and now you’re still stopping . Why do you all treat like this, why?"
Her pitiful cries were t with a cold laugh from the side.
"You speak as if my brother owes you sothing."
At the sound, Ivy Sumrs turned her head back, seeing a tall and lean figure leaning over there. She didn’t know how long he had been listening.
He straightened up and walked over leisurely, a face not unfamiliar, with sharp features and strikingly handso, his contours sowhat similar to Damien Lancaster’s. But compared to Damien’s mature and stable deanor, he exuded a more carefree and reckless vibe.
He was Damien Lancaster’s younger brother, Zachary Lancaster.
The notorious playboy among everyone.
Zachary Lancaster, Zachary Lancaster.
Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster probably nad him hoping he’d be brilliant and courteous.
But because his older brother, Damien Lancaster, bore the family’s future burdens, the Lancaster Family indulged him slightly more, fostering an unruly personality with a temper so explosive he’d take down anyone he fancied.
This personality made Ivy Sumrs see a shadow of Noah Scott in him, feeling they could beco local tyrants together.
Over the years, to prevent him from causing trouble in the country, he was kept abroad with Mr. Lancaster to manage the family business overseas.
As for managing, not quite, as he’d already closed down several subsidiaries.
Ivy Sumrs truly didn’t expect to see him here.
Damien Lancaster frowned, "When did you co back?"
"Noon."
Zachary Lancaster strode toward Ivy Sumrs, who instinctively took a step back.
If I rember correctly, this guy has a bad temper.
"Sister-in-law, long ti no see."

"Did I say sothing wrong?" Zachary Lancaster was not afraid of him at all, his words not holding back in the slightest, "If you didn’t go to save her today, wouldn’t she just die outside?"
It was the truth, if Damien Lancaster hadn’t saved her, Rachel Shaw would still be lying outside, the Shaw Family wouldn’t have found her, exposed to the elents for days, by the ti the Shaw Family found her, she would have beco a dried corpse.
Ivy Sumrs silently pulled at the corners of her lips from behind.

"Sister-in-law? Did the Lancaster Family acknowledge her?" Zachary Lancaster raised his hand and pulled Ivy Sumrs to the front, "Did you all consider her dead?"
Ivy Sumrs tugged at the corners of her lips.
Couldn’t this guy stop using the word ’dead’ so often?
"Sister-in-law, speak up, don’t let them treat you as if you were dead."
The three from the Shaw Family were left speechless by Zachary Lancaster and all looked towards Ivy Sumrs.
Ivy Sumrs also didn’t know what to say, but at this point, she should still acknowledge the term sister-in-law.
Supporting her, how could she undermine it.
Ivy Sumrs raised her chin, "Right, you consider dead?"
"You! You all!" Penelope Page opened her mouth, but didn’t say anything.
Zachary Lancaster: "Hello, sister-in-law!"
