The entrance of the ergency room.
Because of Noah Scott’s presence, the atmosphere was heavy, and other patients’ families stayed away from him.
When Damien Lancaster arrived, a nurse had just co out.
"Hello, are you a family mber of Ms. Ivy Sumrs? There’s a consent form that needs a signature here."
Leo and Nathan lifted their small heads, anxiously looking up, when they heard a voice.
"I’ll do it."
It was Damien Lancaster’s voice.
Leo and Nathan shivered.
Bad Dad?
Instinctively wanting to turn back, Leo was held by Nathan.
Nathan quietly reassured Leo, "Don’t be nervous."
At this mont, Damien Lancaster’s attention was not on them.
Both n reached for the consent form that needed a signature simultaneously.
Noah Scott narrowed his cold eyes, "Who do you think you are?"
Damien Lancaster pressed his lips tightly, his voice cold and carrying a deadly danger, "And who do you think you are?"
Both n were about the sa height, equally imposing, and the tense atmosphere made the nurse in front shiver uncontrollably.
Damien Lancaster said in a deep voice, "I’ll sign."
"Get lost."
The nurse looked at the two n and cautiously spoke, "Um... gentlen, soone inside is waiting for this consent form to be signed to save a life. Which of you is the family mber?"
Damien Lancaster snatched it up, quickly and stylishly signed his na, "I’m her husband, he’s the other man."
"Ah?"
The nurse’s eyes widened, showing a face of sheer surprise.
Such a handso husband and such a charming "other man," the person inside must be a real winner in life.
"Other man?" Noah Scott’s expression turned gloomy, his gaze sharp, "A divorced man like you dares to talk here."
A dark shade crossed Damien Lancaster’s eyes, "I haven’t divorced her yet."
Noah Scott sneered lightly, dangerously narrowing his eyes, "So what?"
"So, as long as we haven’t divorced, she is mine, and no one can change that."
Damien Lancaster quickly finished signing and handed the form to the nurse, looking at the door of the ergency room, his lips tightly pressed.
Ella Morgan slightly turned her body, wanting to shield the two little ones to leave.
But Leo and Nathan didn’t move.
Moving objects are easily spotted; if they move, Damien Lancaster will look over at them.
If they don’t move, Damien Lancaster won’t notice them.
An hour later, several doctors and nurses pushed Sophie out.
"Who here is this child’s family mber?"
"I am, I am." Ella Morgan imdiately stepped forward, looking at Sophie on the hospital bed, nervously asking, "How is the child?"
"Fortunately, the blood loss wasn’t much, and there’s no imdiate danger. The wound has been treated, but the child had a near-drowning experience and was overly frightened, so the parents need to watch the child’s emotions closely."
"Alright, I understand."
Damien Lancaster looked at Sophie on the hospital bed, feeling a pang of heartache, and noticed the two children standing nearby.
The two children stood sideways, and their innocent profiles seed sowhat familiar to him.
Damien Lancaster furrowed his brows, took a step forward, wanting a clearer look.
Hearing footsteps approaching from behind, Leo and Nathan barely dared breathe as they stood there.
At that mont, the ergency room door opened again, "Family of Ivy Sumrs?"
Damien Lancaster’s face was tense as he asked, "How is she?"
"Are you all her family? She had a serious fever; why did it take so long for you to bring her in? With such a severe fever and near-drowning, how could she not pass out?"
Fever?
Damien Lancaster’s dark eyes tightened, "Is she awake?"
"Not yet; her body is too weak, and she’s still unconscious; she needs more rest afterwards."
"Hmm." Damien Lancaster nodded.
Sophie and Ivy Sumrs were sent to the ward.
Damien Lancaster turned back to the direction where the two children were, only to find they were gone.
Damien Lancaster frowned; those two children seed strange just now, but he couldn’t figure out what was strange.
...
Ivy Sumrs’ ward.
Ivy Sumrs lay on the hospital bed. Her face was still pale like a sheet of paper, and she kept mumbling, "Sophie... Sophie..."
Even in a fainting spell, she kept calling Sophie’s na; was she that worried about Sophie?
Damien Lancaster’s eyes deepened.
He wondered, can soone really go to such lengths for a child they’ve just t?
Ivy Sumrs, are you too kind-hearted, or is there another reason?
"Sophie!"
Ivy Sumrs opened her eyes and suddenly sat up.
Her consciousness was still at the mont when Sophie fell into the sea, her eyes full of fear and panic.
Instinctively, Damien Lancaster wanted to go over, but soone else was quicker.
Ivy Sumrs saw Noah Scott, grabbing his extended arm and anxiously asking, "Where’s Sophie? How is she?"
"The doctor said she’s not in life-threatening danger, focus on yourself, why are you so worried about another’s child?"
Noah Scott was reminding her.
Ivy Sumrs rembered being in the hospital, realizing Sophie was saved and she had fainted from dizziness.
Seeing Damien Lancaster here, Ivy Sumrs broke into a cold sweat from her earlier reaction.
Pressing her lips tightly, the urgency on her face faded, and her gaze landed on Damien Lancaster, "What are you doing here? Haven’t you vented enough?"
Ivy Sumrs looked coldly at Damien Lancaster standing there.
She hadn’t forgotten the determination with which Damien Lancaster threw her into the sea.
At this mont, Ivy Sumrs’ heart still ached faintly.
She thought she wasn’t strong enough; if she were stronger, Damien Lancaster’s actions wouldn’t hurt her so deeply.
"Damien." Outside the door, a soft voice sounded.
Rachel Shaw held onto the wall, slowly walking in, her eyes filled with anxiety. When she reached Damien Lancaster, she leaned towards him as if boneless, "Damien..."
Damien Lancaster reached out to support her, "Why did you co here?"
"I was worried about Ivy and wanted to co and see. Don’t worry, I’m much better now, just swallowed so water, it’s no big issue."
Rachel Shaw looked at Ivy Sumrs, "Ivy, are you alright?"
Ivy Sumrs tugged at her pale lips, "You already know the answer."
Rachel Shaw pressed her lips helplessly, "Ivy, you almost drowned; you need to rest well."
Rachel Shaw’s words reminded her of what happened at the beach.
She nearly drowned once, then Damien Lancaster threw her into the water, almost drowning a second ti.
Rachel Shaw was just here to rub salt in the wounds.
Ivy Sumrs couldn’t understand why, with Rachel Shaw’s clumsy tricks, Damien Lancaster always believed in her.
It must be love and trust.
At this mont, Noah Scott’s subordinate ca in.
"Boss, we’ve found out."
Noah Scott, "Speak."
"The boat those three were on belonged to the Shaw family."
"Oh really." Noah Scott raised an eyebrow, "Speak louder, say it again, so people here are blind and deaf."
Damien Lancaster’s face froze into ice, turning to look at Rachel Shaw, who stood by the side.
Hearing this, Rachel Shaw’s face was struck with shock.
"What?"
