In a corner where Damien Lancaster couldn’t see, Ivy Sumrs’ fingers were tightly clenched.

She looked deeply into Damien Lancaster’s eyes.

He seed to really want to know if he had a child, really cherish the child.

But...

Why didn’t he cherish it back then?

Back then, she was seven months pregnant, arranging her mother’s funeral alone, guarding her mother’s spirit for seven days. As her husband, even if he showed up once, just once, she wouldn’t have been so heartbroken.

Unfortunately, not even once.

He was busy celebrating Rachel Shaw’s birthday, accompanying Rachel Shaw to take care of her mother.

It was clear he never cherished her, nor the child in her womb.

So, what’s the point now?

Damien Lancaster, now you’re begging bitterly to tell you whether I have a child, what does that count as?

Does it count as being shaless?

Since you prefer cherishing Rachel Shaw, prefer being with her, then don’t co disturbing and the child.

Ivy Sumrs’ gaze gradually beca firm, she looked at Damien Lancaster and resolutely gave her answer, "No, you’re overthinking it. How could Sophie possibly be our daughter? First, you don’t deserve such an adorable daughter."

"The first half is a lie, the second half is the truth."

Damien Lancaster’s sharp eyes saw through her.

But Ivy Sumrs braced herself, not giving him another chance to see through her, "Damien Lancaster, haven’t you already done a paternity test? You saw the results, there’s no blood relation."

At Ivy Sumrs’ words, Damien Lancaster’s forrly resolute gaze wavered violently.

Indeed, he had done a paternity test.

He himself had done a paternity test.

He and Sophie had no blood relation.

How could Sophie possibly be his daughter?

But how to explain Ivy Sumrs’ everything towards Sophie?

"I saved Sophie out of a loving heart, and besides, you have no relation to Sophie yet you ca to save her too? Also, I saved Sophie out of guilt."

Damien Lancaster looked at her, his brows knitted slightly.

"Damien Lancaster, why do you think Sophie was kidnapped?"

"What are you trying to say?"

"Sophie ca to Aethelgard the sa day we did, she doesn’t know many people here, just us. She’s just a child, hasn’t offended many people, just one person."

Damien Lancaster’s long eyes narrowed slightly, as if he had guessed what Ivy Sumrs wanted to say.

"Don’t doubt it, I’m talking about the person you’re thinking of."

Damien Lancaster subtly furrowed his brows, "You an to say that Sophie was kidnapped as an act of revenge, and the perpetrator was Rachel, the reason being that the last ti at the old house, she spoke up for you and exposed Rachel Shaw’s lies?"

"Yes."

Damien Lancaster let out a cold laugh, "Utterly absurd."

Indeed absurd.

Although this was a story made up by Ivy Sumrs, because she believed Rachel Shaw did it not only out of revenge, but also perhaps because she found out Sophie was her daughter, so she wanted to quickly get rid of her.

But this matter was indeed done by Rachel Shaw.

She believed.

Believed one hundred percent.

"You think it’s absurd, I think so too, but here Sophie didn’t have any other enemies, this kidnapping was clearly preditated, with Sophie as the target, how to explain it?"

"How do you know she didn’t have enemies here? You speak as if you’ve known her for a long ti." Damien Lancaster retorted.

Ivy Sumrs could hear, every word from Damien Lancaster now carried suspicion towards her.

"She’s just a child who’s been here a few days, what enemies could she possibly have?"

"There could be many causes for this, don’t speak so definitively, Rachel isn’t that kind of person, she couldn’t do such a thing."

Obviously Damien Lancaster didn’t believe what Ivy Sumrs had said.

Ivy Sumrs’ eyelashes fluttered slightly, "What if I find evidence? Damien Lancaster, if one day I find evidence proving to you she’s ruthless and unscrupulous, would you believe it?"

Damien Lancaster looked into Ivy Sumrs’ eyes, Ivy Sumrs’ eyes were sincere, he could see that she wanted him to believe what she said.

But he’d known Rachel Shaw for so many years, very well aware she wasn’t that kind of person.

"In terms of ruthlessness, no one can match you, Ivy Sumrs. What you did back then wasn’t ruthless? Acting on impulse, using the abortion to punish , weren’t you ruthless?"

Ivy Sumrs’ heart skipped a beat, although she had long been disappointed in him, she couldn’t deny when she asked that question, her heart still held so expectation.

But his answer, once again chilled her heart.

Earlier, he said he was wrong.

No, Damien Lancaster never realized his mistake.

He thought what he did was not terrible enough for her to abort the child and leave him, so he thought she was ruthless.

He might never in his life understand her breakdown at that ti.

In her most helpless and desperate mont, the only person she could rely on was soone else’s support.

A wave of bitterness surged up, so strong that Ivy Sumrs couldn’t help but shed tears.

With trembling hands, she raised her hand to wipe the tears from her face.

"Forget it, you’ve always been a disappointnt."

She shouldn’t have held any expectations.

"Damien, Ivy."

A worried voice called out, as Rachel Shaw ca running over. Her face was full of concern, seeing both of them drenched she squatted down and anxiously asked, "What happened, why are you both soaked?"

At that mont, upon seeing Rachel Shaw, Ivy Sumrs wished she could kill this woman.

She wanted her child’s life.

"Ivy, are you okay?" Rachel Shaw reached out toward Ivy Sumrs.

Ivy Sumrs raised her hand and without hesitation, pushed her away, "Get lost."

"Ah." Rachel Shaw shrieked in surprise, falling backward, her hand pressing down on the stones on the ground, she turned pale with pain, lifting her hand, blood seeped out.

"Ivy, you?"

"Faking sympathy; Rachel Shaw, don’t you find yourself disgusting?"

"I..." Rachel Shaw blinked, tears welling up, "I just heard the news and wanted to see if there’s anything I could help with. Why are you so hostile towards ?"

"You know why."

Ivy Sumrs’ eyes glinted with cold light; harming her was one thing, but harming her child was absolutely not.

She would definitely settle the score with Rachel Shaw.

She would make her pay for what she did by sending her to jail.

Rachel Shaw gritted her teeth, "Ivy, what are you talking about, I don’t understand."

She looked at Damien Lancaster with grievance, "Damien, what’s wrong with Ivy?"

"She’s ill."

Damien Lancaster glanced at Rachel Shaw’s hand, looking at Ivy Sumrs, his voice icy, "Apologize."

"Why should I?" Ivy Sumrs gritted her teeth, "What did I do wrong? Or did I say sothing wrong?"

Damien Lancaster’s eyes were full of cold light, "You were wrong everywhere, Ivy Sumrs. You’ve bullied her over and over again; do you think you’re not at fault? Those two slaps at the restaurant entrance, you think I forgot?"

Ivy Sumrs fearlessly glared back at Damien Lancaster.

Apologizing to soone who wanted to kill her daughter was out of the question.

Seeing this, Rachel Shaw tugged at Damien Lancaster, "Damien, forget it, I’m fine, don’t argue with Ivy for my sake."

Rachel Shaw’s understanding made Ivy Sumrs appear even more aggressive.

Damien Lancaster was already in a bad mood these past days, and Ivy Sumrs’ repeated provocations filled him with rage, "If you don’t apologize, I’ll throw you back in the water."

Ivy Sumrs’ pupils contracted, and a wave of bitterness surged in her heart.

Rachel Shaw curled her lips, stepped forward, and squatted before Ivy Sumrs again, "There’s no need, Damien, if Ivy doesn’t want to apologize, don’t force her, I’m really fine."

Rachel Shaw grabbed Ivy Sumrs’ arm and secretly pinched a chunk of her flesh tightly.

In pain, Ivy Sumrs flung her arm away.

Rachel Shaw stumbled unsteadily again, this ti Damien Lancaster caught her.

But Rachel Shaw’s face paled as if frightened, tears sprang to her eyes, looking extrely pitiful but she kept saying, "It’s okay..."

"Damn, she’s really good at acting."

Ivy Sumrs couldn’t help but curse; she could never learn these tricks of Rachel Shaw’s in her lifeti.

Damien Lancaster turned back to glare at Ivy Sumrs, his gaze chilling, "Ivy Sumrs, do you really think I won’t act against you?"

Damien Lancaster steadied Rachel Shaw and walked towards Ivy Sumrs in large strides, grabbing her arm and lifting her up, "Without so punishnt, you’ll never recognize your mistakes."

Ivy Sumrs’ heart sank abruptly, "What are you going to do?"

"What do you think?"

Ivy Sumrs’ pupils shrank, there was no ti to escape, Damien Lancaster directly threw her back into the sea.

Ivy Sumrs fell with a look of terror on her face.

"Splash."

Ivy Sumrs struggled in the water.

He knew she couldn’t swim, and had just angrily questioned why she recklessly jumped in to save soone.

Now, for Rachel Shaw, he threw her into the water.

Using her most fatal weakness to punish her.

The briny sea water continuously rushed into her nose, her already heavy body could only struggle briefly.

Damien Lancaster clenched his trembling hands. The mont he actually threw her down, he regretted it, he wanted to pull her back up.

But right then, a huge roar sounded, and overhead a silver helicopter slowly descended.

Before it landed completely, a man from the helicopter leapt down.
