Ivy Sumrs felt a scorching gaze fall upon her, and when she looked up, she saw Damien Lancaster standing behind her, quietly staring at her and Sophie.

The gaze sent a shiver down Ivy Sumrs’ spine.

"Damien... Lancaster?"

Damien Lancaster suppressed his intensely beating heart, staring straight at her, "Ivy Sumrs, what else do you have to say now?"

"What?"

What’s there to say again?

Ivy Sumrs frowned, lifting her head to look back at him.

What’s he upset about again?

Could Nathan and Leo have stirred up sothing again?

Ivy Sumrs shivered.

"I heard it all; Sophie just called you mommy; what are you trying to pretend now?"

Damien Lancaster’s deep voice carried a restrained excitent.

Finally! He had discovered it!

Sophie was indeed Ivy Sumrs’ daughter.

She had been pretending all along.

Sophie was also his daughter, truly his daughter.

Back then, Ivy Sumrs hadn’t aborted the child after all.

"Ah?" Ivy Sumrs’ heart trembled.

Damien Lancaster stared directly at her, waiting for her to explain.

Although Ivy Sumrs appeared composed, a cold sweat had already broken out on her back when Damien Lancaster uttered those words.

Before she could think of what to say, Sophie reached up and tugged at Damien Lancaster’s clothes, "Uncle, what are you talking about?"

Damien Lancaster lowered his head, his gaze falling on Sophie’s face, "Sophie, you should call daddy."

"Ah?"

Sophie raised her small hand, speaking into the phone watch she was using to call, "Mommy, there’s an uncle asking to call him daddy. Should I call him that?"

Damien Lancaster was stunned!

Imdiately, he heard the woman on the other end of the call say, "Sophie, the uncle is teasing you. Mommy is already at the door. Be a good girl and wait for mommy to co in."

Damien Lancaster frowned, "You were just on the phone?"

Sophie calmly nodded, "Yes, Sophie really missed mommy, so I called her to ask when she’s coming. Uncle, why should Sophie call you daddy? Are you Sophie’s daddy?"

Sophie was clever, steadfast in not letting Damien Lancaster find out, displaying extraordinary acting skills.

Damien Lancaster looked at the phone watch connected to the call, his gaze tightening.

Not calling Ivy Sumrs?

Just on a call?

Just... a call!

She had called another woman just now.

At this mont, a servant ca in from outside and said, "Sir, Sophie’s mother has arrived at the door."

The light in Damien Lancaster’s eyes dimd inch by inch.

The sudden joy that ca was unexpectedly shattered, flooding him with imnse disappointnt, filling his heart completely.

Ivy Sumrs forced herself to keep it together, her back already damp.

Afraid that Ella Morgan wouldn’t be able to co in, Ivy Sumrs had Sophie call and ask.

So Damien Lancaster must have only heard them making a call.

Good thing she was cautious.

Ivy Sumrs’ heart was in her throat.

It was breathtakingly close.

Ivy Sumrs shifted her gaze to the door.

The servant brought Ella Morgan in, and the two exchanged a secretive glance.

Ella Morgan keenly sensed the subtle atmosphere in the room but dared not show any hint of nervousness.

Damien Lancaster lifted his gaze.

Ella Morgan’s expression was cold, as if she had stolen his child, nervously squeezing her hands before stepping forward to hold Sophie’s little hand.

Sophie cheerfully called out for mommy.

Ella Morgan addressed Damien Lancaster, "Sir, I’m sorry I couldn’t keep an eye on the child, causing you so much trouble. It was really too much trouble for you to take care of Sophie."

Damien Lancaster scrutinized her face with suspicion.

The misunderstanding just now made his expression incredibly icy.

"You still worry about your child?"

"..." Ella Morgan blinked, "Sir, what are you saying? Of course, I worry about my own child."

Damien Lancaster remained silent.

The brief silence filled Ella Morgan with anxiety, and she sneakily glanced at Ivy Sumrs.

Ivy Sumrs was also thinking about what Damien Lancaster might ask next.

Why did the child co to Aethelgard alone?

"Why did the child co to Aethelgard alone?" Damien Lancaster asked in a low voice.

Ivy Sumrs guessed right.

And this question, Ivy Sumrs and Ella Morgan had gone over on their way there.

Ella Morgan quickly replied, "Sophie ca to find her dad."

Damien Lancaster said nothing, indicating for her to continue.

"Sophie’s father is in Aethelgard. I had told her, and she’s always wanted to find her dad. I’m usually busy with work, and yesterday I didn’t keep an eye on her, so she ca over by herself."

"You an your child bought a ticket, went to the airport, and boarded the plane on her own?"

"Yes, it’s nothing strange. Sophie doesn’t have a dad, so I raised her to be independent from a young age."

Damien Lancaster asked, and Ella Morgan answered, with no apparent flaw.

Ivy Sumrs secretly watched Damien Lancaster, fearing he would show a suspicious expression.

After a mont of quiet, Damien Lancaster asked again, "What’s the father’s na? I can help find him."

Ivy Sumrs, "?"

This was a probe!

Ivy Sumrs knew Damien Lancaster was not one to ddle in such affairs.

Ella Morgan swallowed nervously and said, "There’s no need. We’re not related anymore. I don’t want to see him. Sophie doesn’t have him as a father, but thank you for your kindness, and thank you for taking care of Sophie."

Damien Lancaster ignored her words, took out his phone, his gaze falling on the call history, and asked, "Is your phone off 24/7?"

Damien Lancaster had called her many tis, and she never answered once.

At this mont, Ivy Sumrs instinctively felt for the phone in her pocket.

Watching Damien Lancaster’s actions.

He must be suspicious, wanting to call to verify.

Because the first ti they t, Damien Lancaster suspected that the person answering the phone and picking up Sophie were not the sa.

Sure enough, Ivy Sumrs watched as Damien Lancaster dialed the number and placed the phone on the table, and the number was hers.

The air was oppressively silent.

The next second, the phone in Ivy Sumrs’ pocket rang.

Damien Lancaster’s hawk-like eyes fixed on her.

That scrutinizing, suspicious gaze stretched a single second into eternity.

Ivy Sumrs found it hard to breathe, her hands hanging at her sides, clenching nervously.

As the phone rang for a few seconds, Damien Lancaster coldly asked, "Aren’t you going to answer?"
