Ivy Sumrs watched him sign the divorce agreent, and yet she didn’t feel a bit of relief, only waves of aching pain.

"You can get out now. Don’t show up in front of , or I can’t promise I won’t do sothing crazier than before."

"I’m leaving, don’t be too hard on yourself."

Damien Lancaster turned and left.

In the quiet hospital room, Ivy Sumrs could no longer hold back her emotions, lowered her head, and tears poured out desperately.

Outside, Damien Lancaster pulled a cigarette from the pack, tried several tis but failed to light it. Finally, he crushed it in his palm with a forceful squeeze.

With the divorce, Ivy Sumrs would no longer be his wife, only an ex-wife, and there would be no ties between them anymore...

Damien lowered his head and pounded his clenched fist against his chest.

Here, it was unbearably painful.

Just then, a call ca through.

It was Old Master Lancaster.

"...Grandfather."

"Co to my hospital room." Old Master’s voice was frighteningly deep, obviously aware of the situation.

With that, Old Master hung up the call.

Ella Morgan brought back dinner for Ivy Sumrs, and upon seeing Ivy standing by the window, she walked over and cautiously persuaded, "Ivy, have so dinner first."

Ivy Sumrs gazed outside, "Ella, do you think Sophie is very cold right now? Is she waiting sowhere for to find her?"

Ella Morgan pursed her lips, "Maybe Sophie has already been rescued and will be back in a few days."

"Really?"

"Really, have so dinner first; you can’t keep going like this."

"I have no appetite."

Ella Morgan put the things down and noticed the signed divorce agreent nearby, then turned back, "Damien agreed to the divorce?"

"Yes."

Ella found it tragically laughable.

"I didn’t expect it to end this way. Was this incident revenge by the previous group of kidnappers, or what happened, why was Annelise Lancaster kidnapped?"

"It was revenge, but not by the kidnappers."

Ivy Sumrs was very clear on who could use such ans, "It was Rachel Shaw."

"Rachel Shaw instructed the kidnappers?"

"It’s more than that."

Ivy Sumrs knew the first group of kidnappers wasn’t the sa as the second, and the second group was ard.

They definitely weren’t ordinary kidnappers but more like professional assassins or rcenaries.

Clearly, Rachel Shaw intended to destroy them this ti.

...

Old Master Lancaster’s hospital room.

The old master sat on the sofa, looking like he had already lost his temper once, his face pale as he covered his mouth with a handkerchief, coughing violently.

As soon as Damien Lancaster walked in, a teacup ca flying, hitting his forehead squarely.

Warm tea flowed down his well-defined features, and Damien raised his hand to catch the cup, paused for half a second, then went over to set it down.

"Grandfather."

"Kneel!" Old Master ordered.

Damien Lancaster’s tall and upright figure knelt straight in front of the old master.

The old housekeeper advised, "Old Master, the Young Master was forced into this, please..."

"Shut up."

Old Master stood up and raised a stick, striking Damien’s back.

A heavy thud, the old master didn’t hold back at all.

The old housekeeper wanted to intervene but didn’t dare and could only step aside.

"Do you know why you’re being hit?"

Damien gritted his teeth, "I know."

"Speak!"

"Both children’s lives are lives. I shouldn’t have traded Sophie for Annelise."

"Good that you know."

Old Master Lancaster, furious beyond asure, raised his hand again, striking heavily down.

The sound alone was painful, yet Damien didn’t move an inch.

"Say more! What else was wrong?"

"Risking Sophie’s and Ivy’s safety, Ivy was seriously injured, Sophie went missing. It’s all my fault. As a man, I didn’t protect them."

"Very well, you know all of it."

Knowing it all made it even more unforgivable.

Old Master Lancaster struck even harder, one blow after another on Damien’s broad back.

His back felt numb from the beating, yet Damien knelt there as straight as a pine tree, aside from a bit of sweat on his forehead, his expression unchanged.

"Oh crap." Zachary Lancaster pushed the door open.

He ca at just the right ti?

Just in ti to see Damien getting beaten.

Zachary quickly closed the door, hearing the steady sound of the stick hitting flesh inside.

Zachary, having been beaten up quite a few tis himself, had never seen Old Master this furious with Damien before.

Even Zachary felt a bit scared.

After waiting outside for a while, the stick kept swinging inside.

Being hit for so long?

Won’t it kill him?

Afraid of an accident, Zachary braced himself and rushed inside.

Damien’s entire back was soaked with sweat, and the old master was again lifting the stick when Zachary went up and hugged him, saying, "Grandfather, that’s enough. You’re about to beat my brother to death."

"You feel sorry for him?"

"I feel sorry for myself," Zachary shouted, "If you beat my brother to death, the burden of inheriting the family business falls on . Grandfather, I’ve already bankrupted several subsidiary companies; you don’t want to bankrupt the Lancaster Group too, right?"

With that, the old master was even angrier, hitting Zachary as well.

Damien knelt straight on the ground.

Zachary ran around the room clutching his backside.

The old housekeeper watched the chaotic scene, unsure who to worry about first, and could only fretfully slap his thigh.

Suddenly, he rembered Ivy Sumrs was also in the hospital.

The old housekeeper knew Old Master cherished Ivy utmost. If Ivy ca to persuade him, it might work.

The old housekeeper imdiately went to find Ivy Sumrs.

After hearing the housekeeper, Ivy Sumrs asked, "Has he been beaten to death yet?"

The old housekeeper tugged at his lips, "N-no, not yet..."

"Co get when he’s beaten to death."
