For the first ti in ten thousand years, Dilan slept.
When he woke up, he had no idea where he was or what happened.
Only when the fractured mories of the things he said just before he collapsed resurfaced was he able to create a picture that explained quite a bit.
'Was it really necessary to scare them like that…talking about the Veils and Veilures the mont I return…good job Dilan!!'
Dilan started to course his foul mouth as he got out of bed. He felt great if one ignored the curses he threw at himself within his mind.
Looking around the huge room, Dilan could tell that it was one of the most luxurious places he had ever slept. He had been lying on an XXL King-sized bed in which, at least, 10 people could sleep without lacking space to throw their bodies in any direction.
However, the bed was just one of many extravagant pieces of furniture in his room. There was a humongous mirror that covered a huge part of the wall and a ten ter long walk-in-closet attached to his room.
There was also a huge bathroom that was as big as so of the places he had slept in the past.
It was truly extravagant.
'Who the hell will feel comfortable staying in such a place?'
Dilan shook his head and he left his room when he finished showering. He wore a clean set of clothes and walked through the enormous hallway that could even be used by Ascenders of the Giant race, and it didn't take long before Dilan understood everything was so big in this place.
"I forgot about the Monsters inside here. I think Rory ntioned that she had to leave behind a small distant family and a bunch of underlings when she was given the opportunity to beco one of the Field Bosses when the Primordial Ascension's first awakening happened.
The Primordial Ascension's Field Bosses had been created to create a territory where the native inhabitants of the planet could live and grow without getting influenced by the Temples of so Lesser Gods.
Unfortunately, the mission Rory was given by the Primordial Ascension's system, which was also the designated function of a Field Boss didn't really work out well in the Rian mountainside and its surrounding. Quite so ti had passed after humans had co in contact with the Basic Sun Temple in the Shikan plains before she had reacted…by making sure that a mountain would erupt with lava, nearly killing all humans she was supposed to protect at that ti.
Dilan smiled lightly when he thought that Rory failed her mission miserably. Neither the Primordial Ascension's system nor Rory was perfect. It was only obvious that soone could make mistakes one way or another, and that was exactly what Dilan was afraid of.
He knew very well why he had broken down in front of his friends…it was obvious, but he didn't want to acknowledge it, his weakness…that he was not strong enough to overco everything just because he was in possession of a powerful Origin ability, let alone a spark of divinity.
Dilan felt that he had gone a little bit crazy. Dying countless tis was more than enough reason for him to have a few loose screws but that didn't really justify his sudden breakdown.
'Can they understand my reasoning…or did I really do sothing useless, while risking their lives?'
He didn't know how much ti had passed but he found himself in a huge hall, where thousands of humans and monsters were eating side by side.
The sight was quite interesting, but the gazes that lingered on him only seconds after he had entered the hall which seed to be a cafeteria, were certainly not sothing he liked.
A few faces looked familiar but Dilan didn't really feel like approaching any of them. He was not in the mood to explain to anyone where he had been or why he didn't return sooner.
That was sothing he would have to do in front of his family and beloved ones soon enough…and he didn't really feel like doing that either.
The thought of explaining everything made him feel dizzy, especially because he knew that things would get quite complicated the mont he was to start ntioning the Soul Shards, everything related to the prophecy, Fate Changers, Nial, the exact content of his Trials, his reasoning to stay longer in the City of Trials, the Veils, the Veilures…and last but definitely not least…Hoert…
But if Dilan were to keep a secret of everything, his disappearance for 27 years would make things even worse…
'I guess I will have to tell them…right now would be best, I guess?'
However, before Dilan could go anywhere to search for the others, he saw sothing that caused his eyes to widen in shock.
"What the hell…" He blurted out loud enough for two small families to turn their full attention to Dilan. Many others turned their attention to Dilan, but he only noticed them…and they saw him before their expression brightened up.
"Dilan!"
"Oh my god, is that really you?!"
"Am I still asleep?"
"Soone, pinch please…Ouch!! You darn brat, that was not ant literally!!"
All of a sudden, hell broke loose at the table Dilan looked at. A bunch of kids, ranging from three to twenty years old looked at the tears that trickled down the cheeks of their parents.
Two n and two won started to cry as they charged toward Dilan, who could only sigh deeply.
He activated Instant Teleportation and moved behind the four crybabies before he noticed that a small child ran into him.
The small girl had given her utmost to run behind her mother, just to fail bitterly and to ball on her butt.
Looking upward, she was just about to cry when she saw the brightly shining blue gems that were Dilan's eyes.
"Ohhh gam….shine…beatiful…" She blabbered wile Dilan bent down to her. He picked her up so that she could stay on her own feet instead of remaining seated on the cold marble floor. Afterward, he ruffled through her hair causing the little girl to squeal out loud.
"Whose baby is that? If I were to guess, she looks more similar to Oliver and Ailee than you guys, Pierre and Sarah…to think that you guys really ended up together…fascinating,"
