Insane could not even begin to describe or explain the prince’s behavior. Although matching her fit to hers in an attempt to garner more attention was more pathetic on his part than anything else he’s had the distaste of doing that far.

In any case, Arabella put her best efforts into shifting focus onto sothing that would distract her from his looming presence.

Clinging to Silas’ arm was simply no longer enough. She needed more. Lady Persephone’s appearance in the room was one safe heaven to consider.

Poor Abigail walked so wooden and red in the face. Her fragile lungs threatened to collapse at any mont with such pressure.

Ada appeared to be doing a little better. At least, her smile looked less strained than Abigail’s.

The three won had amassed a lot of attention, but a good chunk of it remained on Arabella and Silas.

Many, sharp eyes refused to move on. A number of whom were not invited to their wedding, faces Arabella failed to put nas upon, hence their eagerness to behold and discover.

A human and a vampire... They made history with their union. The first in line of hopefully many more.

That life wasn’t going to be to everyone’s taste and hurdles still stood in the way for sure, but going that far, they were manageable.

What did they say about her behind closed doors? What did they whisper when they thought no one could hear them? What ideas coursed their minds when her image ca up?

"Are you alright?" Silas leaned slightly towards her.

"Yes, of course! Why wouldn’t I be?" she chirped with a big smile.

It was a bit silly to ask such a question right then and there, wasn’t it? The prince may not have been able to hear them but everyone else around had the ability to.

What was she supposed to say? The truth? That the image of chopped off ears lingered behind her eyes! Or that she wished to sprint out of there and go straight to the lavatory and scrub her hand clean of the filth that man had stamped on it with his lips perhaps?

Although almost everyone in there knew of her story. Surely, none would be shocked to hear her say such a thing about Cedric...

Silas freed his arm from her hand only to then wrap it around and pulling her closer to him.

Upon looking up, he surprised her with a kiss on the forehead.

That was so like him, even without the warm smiles he could give when they were alone in a room.

That earned a genuine beam out of her and... Probably made the prince mold in his spot which was a great plus.

"Blue suits you so very well, Lady Arabella!" Lord Foy approached the couple, "The title rolls off the tongue with your na,"

"Thank you, my Lord," she curtsied.

As per his usual standing, perfect posture and dressed to impress. Lord Foy’s attention quickly turned to Silas after that.

"One can say she brings out the best in you," his purple eyes glistened with life.

"I would have never left her to face things alone," ice cold his voice was when addressing the Lord.

Foy’s deanor suddenly shifted to a more solemn one, "No, I knew you wouldn’t. Don’t ask to explain it, but I do see a lot of your father in you,"

It was odd to hear such a thing after her recent conversation with Persephone. She, who had confided in her that Silas was nothing like his father. But then again, the Lord did warn that he wouldn’t explain his choice of words.

Either way, it couldn’t have hurt to hear such a thing. Silas loved and still loves his father. Had anyone told Arabella that she resembled her mother, it would have been far better than thrilling.

Lord Foy’s ta smile turned even grimr as the look in his eyes darkened, "I am sorry for what’s happened with Allegra. She was always a lively one,"

"She isn’t dead yet," Silas responded dryly.

"No, of course not," Foy nodded, "Poor choice of words on my part. Forgive for that,"

From the corner of her eye, Arabella spotted Lord Dragomir coming their way and clinging to his arm, a beautiful looking, young woman.

Hair black as the darkest of nights, the strong shade brought out the best in her athyst-colored eyes.

She bead and practically leaped in their direction, dragging Lord Dragomir along.

"Oh my! Silas! How long has it been?" she chirped.

"Quite long, Lady Anastasia," he offered her a slight bow.

Anastasia? Wasn’t she Dragomir’s wife? She’d given birth in a little less than a week. Seeing her move so freely and energetically captured Arabella’s breath.

Vampires truly were blessed by nature.

"Co now," she pouted, "Away with the formalities. I used to braid your hair for fun when we were little, rember?"

Braid his hair...

At those words, Arabella’s gaze darted towards her husband who shut his eyes and pushed a long sigh in response.

"Is this her?!" she squeaked.

Anastasia’s hands wrapped around Arabella’s arms and pulled her in so suddenly for a hug that the wind was syphoned out of her lungs.

"Please, my dear," Dragomir’s voice rose, "Be careful when dealing with her. You know how different we are," he stated calmly.

"Right! I do apologize. The last thing I’d want is to snap this pretty little neck," she giggled.

Her words would have co across as troubling had it not been for the spark of life that burned bright in her.

Based on her own utterances, Anastasia was about as old as Silas and yet had contracted none of the settling of mind and rigid attitude the older vampires had about them.

"You know!" she continued, "Silas has always been as jovial as a sack of rocks, but I always knew that deep down, he was as llow as a raw heart. You are in very good hands. Please accept my deepest, most sincere congratulations for your union,"

Very softly, Anastasia’s hands went around Arabella’s face for their eyes to connect on a deeper level.

She was nothing like her husband, wasn’t she? Arabella prayed and pleaded with the universe, to whatever deity would hear that Anastasia wasn’t like Darrick.

With her vivacity and joy, it would have devastated Arabella to learn that the woman was part of any of his scheming.
