As if marveling at the most srizing and extraordinary of sights, Silas’ diamonds explored every inch of Arabella’s throat.
Taking their sweet ti, they trickled down and then back up again, so very carefully following the patterns her skin knitted together through the bonding of cells.
Straddling his seated figure on the bed, Arabella’s breathing wasn’t erratic as much as it sounded erotic.
Heavy, catching in her throat almost every ti his warm breath grazed her neck which Silas had kept a hold of between his hands.
His thumbs made sure to stick right under her chin and maintain it up so that nothing would co between his eyes and the tender part that held her head and body together.
"Are you craving blood?" she whispered.
"No...," he whispered back, "I was rely wondering if I had hurt you earlier when I put my hand around your throat,"
"I felt no pain or, at least, I don’t rember feeling any around my neck," she did her best to shake her head while still in his hold.
"To be fair, I believe it actually helped you reach your second climax,"
"Third climax," she corrected him, her face turning beet red, "The first one was when my back arched. My body was completely out of control. Nothing would obey ," she bit on her bottom lip ekly, "But... In any case, if it is bruises you seek, then you won’t find any. Not after using your blood to keep awake,"
The already faint smile he had on vanished entirely at those words, "I apologize for that. I, again, wasn’t thinking clearly. All I wanted was to look into your eyes when I finished,"
"Don’t apologize," she blurted a tad too quickly, ripping herself out of his grasp to make eye contact, "I thought it was a great idea. In fact, had you not done it, I would have suggested it,"
"You have suggested sothing of this sort before as I rember," in a more hushed tone Silas had uttered. As though, he wasn’t intending her to hear it.
But she did, "I did, indeed," her fingers went over to caress his naked collar bones, "And if my mory serves right," Arabella put emphasis on ’my mory’ when speaking, "We said we would talk about this at a later ti but never got around to it,"
"Simply for lack of ti, but tomorrow, I’d like to invite Remus over. I wish to hear more about this... Change he sensed in your physiology,"
To that, Arabella had a response ready, but it did not co out imdiately. Instead, her head tilted to the side a little. She allowed her narrowed eyes to study his face.
A reaction that did not go unnoticed by her husband, "What is it?" he too looked back at her curiously.
"Nothing!" she squeaked, "It’s just that you’ve called him by his na. That is all," she murmured.
"What am I to call him if not by his na?"
The label ’brat’ had been his customary go-to when addressing or making any ntion of Remus.
But progress was to be recognized and praised no matter how small... She thought.
"Still," her eyes fell on his chest where her hands continued to fondle his clavicles, "If lack of ti is the true reason we haven’t yet solved this... Mystery," her eyes flashed wide open for a split second, "Then tomorrow is hardly the ti to deal with it. We put it off for days, we can push it a few more. At least, until I finish with the interviews. I insist upon it,"
"That isn’t good enough for ," his voice shed a lot of the warmth he previously spoke with, rendering his tone colder and quite firr, "This is your health we are talking about and I refuse to postpone it any further. I insist upon this as well,"
Very slowly, her hands stopped their doing and descended to her lap. Her gemstones followed and for a good mont, Arabella’s figure remained immobile with nothing but the periodic ascension and decline of her chest as a sign of life.
Silas put a gentle hand on her back before leaning a little lower in an attempt to catch her eyes, "Is everything alright?"
Without answering him and at once, she lifted her leg off his lap in order to turn and lay next to him on the bed, back facing him, "Yes, everything is alright. I am tired and I’d like to go to sleep,"
Silas took a few seconds to assess the situation, took a deep breath then sighed, "No, absolutely not! Get back up here!"
Although calm, the vampire left her no room to contest as he took her by the arms and raised her to a seated position yet again before forcing her to look him in the eyes, "It is this very morning that we’ve discussed this!" his diamonds had sharpened, reflecting her image a lot more clearly, "If you do not share whatever grievances you have with what I said right now, then I will assu that you agree with and move on,"
The ultimatum did not just resonate between the inner walls of her skull. It did the sa in his as the mont his lips let those words out, an invisible sting prodded him right in the heart.
Seeing the quivering chin that crowned her devastating frown did not help that feeling in him one bit.
Though before Silas folded, her expression shifted. Sohow, in a gradual yet quick manner... It was almost uncanny.
Her chin still trembled, but a bright, new fire burned in her eyes, looking just as dangerous as it seed hungry.
Devastation was what it craved for sure. For a second, Silas thought he regretted pushing her to such an extent, but no more ti was allowed for his contemplations to take form.
"You want to hear all about my grievances!" she half asked, her tone rising, "Don’t touch !" she tossed his hands off of her arms, "Fine! I will speak! But don’t you dare interrupt for a second!" her index finger went up, pointing in a reprimanding manner, "For days, the topic had slipped your mind just fine, but make a ntion of it, and all of the sudden it can’t wait! Am I supposed to just accept it and roll with your decision?" clearly the question was rhetorical since she allowed him no ti to fit an answer, "Well, my love! The answer is no! Tomorrow, I will follow through with the third batch of tributes and then if, and only if we have so free ti will I sit down to write an invitation in Remus’ na! The matter isn’t pressing, and I’d rather focus on more pressing things if you don’t mind!"
She had practically spat all the while getting up in Silas’ face. So close that with every word out of her mouth, her warm breath would collide right against his skin.
Not once did he flinch throughout her entire rant. On the contrary, he seed to find it amusing.
A groan mingled with a long sigh escaped as all the confidence she’d gathered left her completely depleted and ready to let her body fall back onto the bed, "You are not even taking seriously," she muttered.
"No!" he held her in place, "I was rely wondering what is this matter that is more pressing to you than your own health?"
"Erik," she said simply, "I’d like to hear more about the plan you ntioned yesterday,"
