Allegra’s eyes darted from one spot to another, making sure to never cross Arabella’s gemstones.
The ground wouldn’t have split beneath their feet upon eye contact, but that was the impression the vampiress gave should that condition manifest.
"Did sothing else happen after... Well, you know?" Arabella leaned a little forward, her eyebrows higher up her forehead.
"No, nothing happened!" Allegra shook her head profusely, "I don’t know what you an,"
If one thing at all was obvious, it was that Allegra was terrible at lying, or at least denial of facts.
"Do you still bla yourself for what Edna did?"
"No! That’s... We don’t even know if it was Edna that did that, do we?" the vampiress spoke fast and seed to lose all control over her voice.
At so parts it would be so hushed, Arabella had to lean even closer just to hear her, but at other parts, it would rise so loud, its ringing lingered in the young woman’s ears.
It was hard to determine whether she wanted to keep things on the down low or if the entire room needed to hear their conversation.
Not that it mattered much since it was mostly populated with vampires that had hearing as keen as a bat’s.
"It was Edna," Arabella stated in a sowhat dry tone, "The Lady is sure of it," after a short pause, she added, "Did you see or talk to Edna after what happened?"
"No! I did not! I caught not a single whiff of that wench!"
That declaration turned many heads their way, naly Katherine who’d stood up and began marching in their direction before stopping in her tracks when noting Arabella’s expression and sign for her not to interfere.
From Allegra’s reaction alone, it was hard to extrapolate any truths. Her unease with the topic could an she was lying, but it might as well have ant that she was angry to be grilled with questions when her suffering was obvious enough.
Although, her glare quickly lted, giving place to a wavering chin and glossy eyes, "My apologies! I did not an to take that tone with you, my Lady,"
"No, it is I who needs to apologize, Allegra," Arabella’s hand traveled to the vampiress’ cheek, "I’ve done nothing but burden you further with my pesky questions. Just... Please know that I am simply concerned for you. I am not interrogating you for a cri I think you committed or anything of that sort,"
Arabella picked her words carefully, even when apologizing. That thod yielded more results than expected as Allegra ’s eyes flashed wider for a split second at the ntion of cris. Her entire face drained of its colors as her voice left her high and dry to fend for herself.
When the vampiress failed to breathe a single word, Arabella pushed a smile on her features, "And please, ease up with the honorifics. It truly does make feel old,"
"Right, I am sorry," Allegra blurted out.
She knew more than she let on. Well, more than her words let on. Her face and entire body revealed a lot more than she wished to.
"Is everything alright here?"
Silas’ voice made Arabella spin on her heels, "Yes, I sure hope so," she bead.
His eyes landed on Allegra who refused to et his gaze after curtsying. Instead, and also without looking at Arabella, she addressed her, "If that will be all, then may I take my leave, please? I too have so practicing to do,"
"Yes, of course!" Arabella chirped.
The young woman had barely finished speaking that Allegra stord past her, leaving nothing but a cold breeze of air behind herself.
"Your conversation with Allegra sounded quite...," he trailed off, his eyes following the vampiress.
"Heated? Filled with strain? Intense?" Arabella too stared at Allegra’s back before pulling her gaze away towards her husband.
"I wouldn’t go as far as to use those words but sothing of that sort, yes," his diamonds t her eyes.
"Were you listening in on the whole ti?" a side smirk appeared on her lips.
"Not the whole ti," he did not return any emotion, "Only when I wanted to make sure you were still here in this room,"
"Why? Is sothing the matter?" her smile lted, leaving round eyes full of curiosity behind.
"No, I just wanted to see my wife. Is that a cri?" he cut the distance between them shorter, to stand a re inch in front of her.
"Not a cri at all!" she bead, "Shall we go sowhere else?"
"It’s been a long day. I was hoping to do so carving, and I wondered if you could keep company, perhaps read so poems for ?"
In response, she rely humd a yes while slowly nodding her head. Arabella waited for nothing more before wrapping her hand around his arm to go.
After excusing themselves in front of Persephone, the couple made their way back to their room.
"You were oddly silent on the way here," his breath feathered her face, "What’s on your mind?"
"Nothing," she stepped towards his carving desk and leaned on its surface until he followed suit.
There was a glint in her eyes that told him there was more to it than one word, but he did not push.
"Alright," he took a seat on his chair.
"What piece are you working on?" she asked, her eyes still on the tools and pieces of wood that riddled the desk.
"Well, I was hoping I could-,"
Silas paused mid-sentence upon noting that his wife was blocking him from facing the table by putting her legs between his.
The gleam that lived in her eyes grew brighter, sohow hungrier, "See, that’s a bit tricky because I was hoping that I could do so... Polishing instead,"
Without another word, the young woman sank to her knees, still between his legs. Very slow, sensual in every motion, she tucked her feet neatly underneath her butt and kept a straight spine.
In the end, her face was right up against his crotch.
