It was ti to transform this ruined slave city into one that will be able to change the natural order in the Crimson Sun empire.
When Zaroht was still in the academy he didn't really pay attention to most of the lectures, however there was one in which he was interested in.
It focused on how nations function—how they ford over ti, the economy, and similar topics. Because of that lecture, he believed he had a solid grasp of what was needed to drastically improve this city.
The first priority, howeverwas putting out the fire that was slowly eating away the city.
Several teams were created all with the task of stopping the raging fires at a certain districts of the city.
Initially Zaroth was going to be in one of those teams that were supposed to put out the fire, if he was going to lead the people to greatness first he had to show that he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty!
However Luna's words stopped him, she advised that rather than joining one of said teams it was better to go alone.
He didn't really understand what she ant by that but obliged nonetheless.
Eventually he found himself in one of the places where the raging fire was particularly bad, it was hard to see the sky at all not to ntion that he had to be careful how to breathe if he didn't want to die due to the toxins in the area.
Summoning Luna he gazed at her beautiful figure, "So, what do you want?"
A smile crept upon her face, "I have observed you for a long ti and I believe it is high ti I teach you one of my other skills," she spoke calmly.
Upon hearing that Zaroth's eyes began to sparkle so bright it was visible beyond the mask.
Luna chuckled seeing how excited he had gotten and invited him to sit on the ground with one leg over the other, back upright. Basically, it was a position for ditation.
"Close your eyes," She spoke gently getting behind him.
Slowly getting closer she wrapped her arms around his torso, her breasts pushing against his back.
Putting her chin on his left shoulder making so that her mouth is re inches away from his ear she parted her lips.
"Do you feel sothing?"
'Yes sothing is arising,' he thought, however, there was an itching suspicion in him that she wasn't talking about his mber.
'She must be talking about the fire all around us,' he realized as he took another deep breath.
The truth was he didn't feel anything at all. He hoped he was going to be able to contain the fire but it seems that this wasn't possible.
Luna chuckled softly guessing what he had tried to do.
"Keep in mind that right now you are not learning a skill that is known by most of the populace—you are learning the dragon's way to control fire all around you."
Zaroth raised an eyebrow, "Then what am I supposed to do now?" he questioned,
"Think about it—you want to control the fire, so what should the first step be?" Luna asked, it was clear she wasn't going to feed Zaroth with a silver spoon, he was supposed to get his own answers.
He paused. "...If I want to control sothing, then the first thing it must do is... submit?"
Luna's smile began to widen though it wasn't visible to Zaroth.
"That is right. For you to control the fire around the area, you must make it submit to you."
'Easier said than done," Zaroth muttered, trying to do what she had talked about.
But no matter how hard he tried he wasn't able to. To be able to force the fire to submit to him he first had to establish so kind of connection, but he wasn't able to.
Was it because it was a wild fire, not one directly caused by magic skills and abilities, or was there another reason?
'Wait why am I thinking like a human?" Realization struck him. Up until now when he had learned how to use fireball, firebreath and howl he didn't think or act like a human but like the beast that he was supposed to copy the skill from.
'How does a dragon think?' he began to ponder. They were mythical beasts capable of destroying the whole world's order. They were so mighty that songs and myths were created talking about their existence.
"A dragon doesn't think that it is mighty, for it already is, it is sothing so obvious no one could deny." he muttered while the cracking of the raging fire was going off in the background,
'The top of the top, the pinnacle of all existence. Nothing alive or dead escapes from my grasp, everything submits to .'
Zaroth began to repeat that endlessly in his mind, each ti he did his heart beat a bit louder, his muscles tensed, a sweat starting to form on his forehead.
And as for his mana core, it started to use so of its reserves—this wasn't to keep his beasts summoned however, no, it was for sothing else: a skill.
The fire continued to rage getting closer and closer.
Until—
The closest smallest fla to him stopped, it began to change color, slowly going from crimson to sothing else, sothing familiar. An eerie green fla.
It didn't stop there however, as it began to spread.
Fire ters away from him,
Ten, twenty, thirty,
And finally the range stopped at fifty ters.
Zaroth now sat at the center of calm green flas—the sa kind that erged when he used Luna's techniques. The wild fire was no longer wild. It obeyed.
The flas were raging no more, they were calm. Like water following their master's commands. It didn't burn. It didn't release deadly smoke. It rely... waited.
'Now is the hardest part,' Zaroth realized.
What he wanted was for the fla to be extinguished. In other words, he was going to have to test the obedience of the flas to the limit.
He was basically telling them to kill themselves.
Would they listen to him or were they going to refuse the command and continue to rampage across the city?
More and more sweat beads started to form around his forehead, his mana core getting more and more drained. But slowly and surely the flas started to get weaker, by the end they were gone.
In a radius of fifty ters Zaroth had extinguished all the flas around him, he was left sitting on the ground with Luna still embracing him tightly—no, more tightly than before. Her master had learned one more skill from her, making their connection even deeper.
Slowly opening his eyes he admired his work. There was a pleasant feeling going through his body, managing to learn the skill from the first try. He was so drawn out in bliss that he almost missed the system words:
