Opening his palm, Zaroth shot out several fireballs, aiming to break the concentration of his enemy.

Henry, however, remained unfazed as multiple balls made of purple liquid appeared to his side and shot forward, intercepting the fireballs.

To Zaroth's surprise, his power seed to be the weaker one, as the liquid went past the fireballs, dissipating them into nothing while they still looked whole and fine.

A grin appeared behind his demonic mask. "Well, he isn't the leader of the Outlaws and a mber of the Council of the Crimson Sun Empire for nothing!" he shouted as his movents beca even swifter.

By relaxing certain muscles and tensing others, he was able to dodge the attacks, remaining undamaged.

"For a man with a bounty on his head, you sure like to run away!" Henry taunted, swinging his blades wildly.

Due to the obvious greater experience the man possessed with the weapons and the wild nature of his attacks, Zaroth found himself in a bit of a pickle. It was hard to gauge from which direction he was going to be hit.

So, left with no choice, he was going to rely on Darkveil. Sadly, the place was really well-lit, and as such, he doubted the attacks would be stopped, but he hoped that the armor he had bought combined with Darkveil would hold against the attacks.

Letting out more fireballs, he used his weapon once more, aiming for the heart.

Henry remained unfazed as he used the chain in his hands and wrapped it around Zaroth's odachi, managing to stop it.

"You are done!" Henry proclaid as his curved swords reached Zaroth's position. He was going to be hit in the back and in the shoulder.

Both attacks collided with his body at the sa ti. Contrary to Henry's expectations, however, there were no deep wounds.

Darkveil managed to slow down the attacks slightly before breaking, and the armor that Zaroth had bought from Torin before managed to stop the attacks fully.

"No, you are done!" Zaroth proclaid as he let go of his odachi, stretched out his hands, and grasped Henry's head, not letting go.

Tensing his muscles to the limit, he brought his head closer to Henry's and opened his mouth as wildly as he could.

His eyes started to glow with eerie green light, and his senses seed to sharpen.

'This is it! I am going to do it!' It seed that thanks to the tough battle he was having against Henry, he had reached so sort of enlightennt.

Silverfang, sensing his master's will, opened its jaws widely as well.

'This is it!'

ROOOAAAAAARRR

Both Zaroth and Silverfang let out devastating howls. This ti, however, Zaroth's was in no form or shape inferior to his beast; he had perfectly managed to replicate the skill of his beast. His revelation made him so happy that he also missed the voice of the system echo in his mind.

[You have learned a new spell.]

[Howl]

'When was the last ti I heard the system announce that I have learned a new skill?' Zaroth wondered. It was when he learned Firebreath.

Then it hit him. 'Wait, I learned Darkgaze and Darkveil after that, so why did the system stay silent? Is it because they are demonic skills?' he wondered.

However, he didn't have ti to ponder on the question as he was still in the middle of the fight.

Everyone in the room was stunned by the devastating roar, but Henry was the most affected. Since Zaroth had placed his mouth re inches from his ears, Henry had almost gone deaf. A ringing noise filled his head that wouldn't go away.

The only one unaffected was the elf. It was as though the violent roar had never even bothered her.

"It was a success! I really learned how to use the skill!" Zaroth exclaid, but he wasn't done. No, he had been trying to learn it for a while now, so he wasn't going to stop after using it just once!

ROOOAAAAAARRR

He let out another one; this one was no inferior to the last, and he wasn't alone, as Silverfang had used the roar once again.

'More!' Zaroth thought as he brought his face even closer to Henry's.

ROOOAAAAAARRR

ROOOAAAAAARRR

ROOOAAAAAARRR

Blood began to spill from Henry's ears. He had nearly gone deaf, his eyes wide and unfocused, and foam started to drip from his mouth.

It seed that when used, the skill wasn't only harming one's hearing senses, as the sheer volu of the roar resonated throughout the entire body of the victim.

'More!'

ROOOAAAAAARRR

Unable to hold anymore, Henry let go of the chains and collapsed on his knees. His mind was a ss, unable to form a single thought.

His n were in much worse shape, as they had long collapsed on the ground, and Zaroth's beasts had finished them off.

With a resigned sigh, he desummoned his beasts with the exception of Nightshade. What he didn't expect was that using the newly acquired skill was burning a large amount of mana. He was going to have to rember that for the future.

"Well, well, well," he spoke as he examined the state Henry was in. The man was still alive, but barely.

There was still foam coming out of his mouth; however, this one was red in color.

'Is that blood?' Zaroth wondered. It seed that his roar had caused internal injuries.

Wanting to make sure that this was the case, he bent down his mouth next to the man's ear and used the skill once more.

ROOOAAAAAARRR

At that point, Henry stopped stirring and collapsed on the ground, dead. His brain had turned into mush from the sheer force of the volu.

Zaroth's eyes widened as he gained a better understanding of his demonic skills. It seed that killing still made him stronger, but the target had to be far more powerful than the average man.

"That is good to know," he spoke as he brought down his odachi and beheaded the man. He knew he was dead, but there was no harm in making sure that was the case.

'I just hope that the other council mbers of the empire are stronger,' he thought.

Unbeknownst to him, Henry had been the weakest mber of the council, but Zaroth had yet to learn that.

"Well, now that this is done…" he spoke as he shifted his gaze from the dead body on the ground and gazed at the elf.

She was still in a sitting position with a relaxed expression, watching with keen interest.

His heart began to beat louder, not only because she was breathtakingly beautiful but also because this was the first ti he was going to speak with a mber of the elven race.

'Getting nervous or sothing?' Luna teased in his mind.

'Of course not!' he firmly rejected the idea.

'Oh, co on! I know the kind of man you are. I can guess exactly what you thought the mont you laid eyes on her!' Luna continued.

"You… are a part demon." Before Zaroth could respond, the elf parted her lips. Her voice was calm and pleasant, like a lody.

Zaroth cleared his throat, 'How did she know?' he wondered.

Putting on a smile that remained unseen due to the mask, he asked, "Is there a problem?"

"Well, not really," she flashed him a smile. "It's just that demons are the sworn enemies of the elves."

The smile that had appeared on Zaroth's face vanished as quickly as it ca. There was only one thought that resonated in his mind at that mont, 'Crap.'
