Chapter 481: Chapter 523 Lakeside

Chapter Five Hundred and Twenty-Three

Long Xiaoshan held onto Song Yi as they walked through the dense forest. Song Yi was just an ordinary woman, and walking in this kind of tropical rainforest simply wasn’t fast; poisonous insects, snakes, and wild animals often appeared nearby, and considering it was a pitch-black night, their pace was even slower.

The two walked for more than ten minutes.

Long Xiaoshan felt sothing was wrong—the footsteps behind them seed to be getting closer. He quickly said, “Sister Yi, this won’t work; we’re too slow. Get on my back.”

Song Yi knew that now was not the ti to be squeamish.

She imdiately climbed onto Long Xiaoshan’s back. Holding her two long legs, Long Xiaoshan noted that although Song Yi was quite tall, most of that height was in her legs, so she wasn’t very heavy. After lifting her up, he began to speed up to a run.

...

Long Xiaoshan ran very fast, and the footsteps behind them gradually faded away.

Since this was an unfamiliar rainforest, Long Xiaoshan didn’t know which direction was the right way to run; he could only rely on his instincts.

After running wildly for several hours deep into the night.

Long Xiaoshan finally stopped. He didn’t know where they had co to, but in front of them was a small lake. Having run for such a long ti, it should be safe now; the footsteps behind them had long since faded out of earshot.

Even with his potent True Qi, carrying soone and running continuously through the tropical rainforest for hours had taken its toll on him.

After setting Song Yi down.

Long Xiaoshan, panting, said, “Let’s rest for a bit.”

Song Yi, deeply concerned, took out a tissue and gently wiped the sweat from Long Xiaoshan’s forehead.

“You must be tired from all that running.”

“It’s nothing!” Long Xiaoshan said with a smile.

“Still pretending it’s nothing? You’ve been running for hours,” Song Yi said softly as she pulled Long Xiaoshan to sit on a rock. “I’ll get you so water.”

Song Yi picked a large leaf from the lakeside and used it to scoop so water from the lake, bringing it over to Long Xiaoshan. He thought of doing it himself, but Song Yi said, “Wait a mont.”

She took a sip first, gauging it, then said, “Open your mouth; I’ll feed you.”

Long Xiaoshan watched her, silent.

“What’s the matter? Open up,” Song Yi prompted.

“Sister Yi, afraid I’ll be poisoned? Checking it yourself first,” Long Xiaoshan, with a hint of teasing in his voice, remarked.

Song Yi’s face flushed red as she replied, “Of course not, I was just thirsty myself.”

“Really?” Long Xiaoshan, smiling, opened his mouth wide, letting Song Yi pour the lake water from the leaf into his mouth. The cool lake water washed down, so spilling over onto his clothes.

Long Xiaoshan’s clothes had already been torn when they fell from the airplane, and after a mad dash through the dense forest, they were even more tattered.

He simply tore off what remained of his shirt, revealing a formidable torso beneath.

Long Xiaoshan’s body, honed from his training, was incredibly firm, his muscle lines perfect, with not an ounce of extra flesh. Unlike the muscle-bound gym-goers who loaded up on protein powder, every strand of his muscle was well-defined, combined together to create a sense of boundless explosive power.

He drank water in big gulps.

The chilly water flowed down from the corners of his mouth, rolling along his throat, the clear droplets coursing over the sinuous muscle lines.

Song Yi, up to that point, hadn’t been feeling much.

In the past, even when faced with the most perfect of muscles, she could remain completely unmoved.

But after letting go of that obsession, Song Yi beca hotter than the average woman, as if trying to compensate for what she had lost before.

After Long Xiaoshan finished drinking, he wiped the corner of his mouth.

He exhaled comfortably.

Having sprinted for several hours and then gulping down the icy lake water, it was as if he had regained his entire vitality.

He looked up, his gaze suddenly fixating on the bewitched Song Yi before him, his lips curling into a wicked smile.
