Chapter One Hundred and Sixteen

What should I do?

Should I sneak away quietly?

Act as if nothing had happened?

Or should I wake Qin You directly?

Open the skylight to speak frankly?

Long Xiaoshan hesitated.

Sneaking away quietly was just too unmanly. After sothing like this had happened, to pretend it had not—to him, that didn’t reflect the responsibility a man should bear.

Long Xiaoshan imdiately dismissed the idea.

So, the choice was to wake Qin You.

But just as he was about to do so, Long Xiaoshan hesitated again.

Sister Qin was clearly awake but had been feigning sleep all this ti.

This incident must have had a huge impact on her, but on the other hand, she obviously did not have strong resistance to it; otherwise, she would have taken charge and held him accountable by now.

She was in a state of contradiction.

If he were to wake her up directly, given Sister Qin’s character, she might just out of embarrassnt oppose him, and Long Xiaoshan didn’t want to destroy the relationship they had finally managed to build.

It was then that Long Xiaoshan realized that his ti reading extensively in prison had been of great benefit.

He knew a little about everything.

In terms of psychology, too, he had an understanding beyond that of the average person.

This matter couldn’t be approached so directly.

It needed a roundabout strategy.

Long Xiaoshan thought about it and, looking at Qin You lying in his arms, suddenly had an idea that seed a bit risky and quite shaless.

Yet, if he succeeded, the matter would be resolved perfectly.

After taking a breath, Long Xiaoshan slowly placed his hand on Qin You’s waist.

...

The two of them lay together for a while.

Long Xiaoshan heard a grumbling sound coming from Qin You’s stomach.

Looking at the ti, it was already past ten o’clock.

He hurriedly got up, put on his shorts, and said, "Sister Qin, I’ll make you sothing to eat."

Qin You had intended to get up herself but completely lacked the strength, so she could only lie there and continue to rest.

Long Xiaoshan ran into the kitchen and saw that there weren’t many ingredients left, and there was only a bit of noodles left in the fridge, so he cooked a bowl of noodles and brought it to the room.

Qin You sat up, covered her chest with the blanket, and took the bowl of noodles from him.

She was really hungry.

Last night, she hadn’t eaten anything and had just drunk a lot of alcohol.

After struggling until now.

Her stomach was empty, and she began to eat the noodles.

After eating half of it, she saw Long Xiaoshan sitting on the side not eating and asked, "Why aren’t you eating?"

Long Xiaoshan replied, "I’m not hungry."

"What have you eaten?"

Long Xiaoshan didn’t speak, a aningful smile at the corner of his mouth.

Qin You realized the implication and almost smashed the bowl on Long Xiaoshan’s head.

How had she never realized before that this guy could be so bad?

After finishing the noodles with Spirit Vegetable, Qin You finally regained her strength.

She got dressed.

Seeing Long Xiaoshan collecting the clothes hanging on the balcony and getting dressed, the scars visible under the sunlight, her expression slightly changed, "Xiaoshan, why do you have so many scars on your body?"

"It’s nothing, just from fights in prison," Long Xiaoshan replied nonchalantly.

Qin You walked over, touching a scar on Long Xiaoshan’s chest that almost pierced his heart.

She trembled lightly and said, "It must hurt a lot."

"It’s okay. The buggers who hit have all been taken care of," replied Long Xiaoshan, his tone casual but carrying an air of formidable strength.

Before, Long Xiaoshan would not talk much about such things, but now, Qin You had beco his woman in his heart, so he shared a bit more.

Qin You looked at Long Xiaoshan’s chiseled side profile.

This man was actually just twenty-one years old.

Yet he possessed a maturity and strength unbecoming of his age.

Seeing these scars... Qin You understood that such maturity and strength weren’t innate.

No one knew how this young man had grown up.

"Xiaoshan, tell sister how you ended up in prison. You were a brilliant student from Shuimu University. I can’t figure out why you would do sothing like that," Qin You, not knowing why, really wanted to understand this young man’s past.

Long Xiaoshan fell silent.

He really hadn’t talked about this with anyone else.

Seeing him not responding, Qin You let out a sigh, "Never mind, it’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it."

"It’s alright, sister. I’ll tell you," Long Xiaoshan took Qin You’s hand, sat down, and said, "Actually, it’s not as if there’s anything I can’t talk about. When I went to Yanjing for my studies, I got to know a girl at school a bit too well, but I didn’t expect that the girl had a powerful background and even a fiancé she had been betrothed to since childhood, which is common in those types of families. That fiancé, who was also a student at our university, probably noticed the girl getting close to . With his status, killing would have been easy, given the power of his family. However, he didn’t do that. Instead, he set up a sche where a girl acquainted with approached and then asked out to dinner. She drugged my drink, and when I woke up, I was in bed with that girl, and the police burst in and arrested . With direct evidence and the girl accusing of rape, I was quickly convicted. As I was being taken away to prison, that man ca to visit , presumably wanting to see my despair. He told everything, including how he had set up the entire plot..."
