"Doctor! Doctor! Please save him!"

Amidst a chorus of panicked shrieks, a group of people rushed in through the hospital's entrance.

These individuals, each with disheveled hair and faces covered in dirt and cent, were wearing ragged clothes; they were a group of six or seven construction workers.

Their faces were purple from the harsh sun, their hands were calloused, and each of them wore cloth shoes, tracking mud all over the hospital hall's floor as they entered.

Among them, a worker was carrying a man who was covered in blood and had already lost consciousness, leaving a trail of bright red droplets behind him.

"Is there a doctor? Please, co and save him!"

Seeing that no doctor had co forward, these workers' faces were filled with urgency as they shouted loudly within the hall.

Only then did a doctor frown and walk over.

"Stop yelling! You can't make a racket in the hospital—don't you know that?"

Disgust filled the doctor's eyes as he regarded the dirt and gri on the workers.

Upon seeing a doctor approach, the workers were overjoyed; the leader, an elderly man close to sixty years old, quickly stepped forward and pleaded:

"Doctor, please help take a look at our fellow countryman. He fell from the second floor, and his leg is broken!"

As the old man finished speaking, the rest of the workers looked hopefully towards the doctor.

"The second floor?" The young doctor paused for a mont, then a cold smile ford on his lips, and he responded,

"It's just a fall from the second floor. Don't worry, he won't die from that!"

After checking the injured worker's broken leg, he said, "Alright! We have nurses to take him to the ward. Now, go and pay the deposit of three thousand yuan!"

As the doctor spoke, Ye Feng and a nurse nad Nini ca over.

Hearing that they needed to pay a deposit of three thousand yuan, the workers were dumbfounded, hastily pooling their money together, but they could only co up with one thousand yuan.

The leading old man then held the one thousand yuan in his hand and pleaded earnestly:

"Doctor, we haven't been paid for several months at the construction site, and this thousand yuan is what we all need to live on. Can't we just pay this one thousand yuan as a deposit first? Once we get our wages, we'll make up the rest and co back to pay the full amount. Would that be alright?"

The wages of these workers were already low, and delays in paynt at the construction site were common. It was impossible for them to co up with three thousand yuan for a deposit on the spot.

Hearing that there was only one thousand yuan, the doctor waved his hand, stopped a nurse who was hastening with a patient bed, and then coldly told the workers:

"The hospital has its rules; we need the full deposit before we can start treatnt! Moreover, with both legs broken, three thousand yuan won't last him more than a few days. You'd better go back, gather the money, and then co to heal him!"

With that, the young doctor ordered the nurses to return and cast a stern glance at Ye Feng, preparing to leave as well.

It was just at that mont that a few workers stopped him:

"Please, doctor, have a heart! Old Wang has a seventy-year-old mother to support and three children to put through school. If he goes back like this, his legs will surely be ruined, and then what will he do to make a living?"

The workers pleaded desperately, their frenzied words casting a gloom over the young doctor's expression.

"Shut up! This is a hospital. You can't be shouting here! Whether he ends up disabled, and whether he can make a living, is none of my concern! If you have the money, we treat; otherwise, get lost imdiately!"

The doctor, seeing his white coat soiled by the workers, barked sharply and then turned to leave.

"Damn bunch of country bumpkins! Can't even cough up three thousand yuan, yet you want to get treatnt! Hmph!"

The doctor muttered a curse under his breath as he tried to leave.

But his words were all heard by the laborers, which reddened their faces with rage. They stopped the doctor once again in his tracks.

"How can you speak like that! Don't you have even a shred of dical ethics?"

"Exactly! You look down on us, that's one thing! But as a doctor, not only do you neglect a dying person, you also curse at people. We're going to report you to your superiors!"

"This doctor is infuriating! What kind of doctor behaves like this!"

...

Seeing himself surrounded by the laborers again, the doctor's face turned so dark it was almost dripping, and he shouted loudly at the security guards outside the hospital:

"Security! Security! Where the hell are you? Get up here and drive these people away!!!"

Following the doctor's cries, several security guards instantly rushed in from outside, intending to pull the laborers away.

But just then, a stern voice rang out loudly.

"Enough!!!"

This stern shout was so loud that everyone jumped. The crowd turned to look and saw that it was a cleaner.

Ye Feng's face was livid, and his eyes were filled with icy coldness as he stared at the doctor. He couldn't believe that there were doctors with such degraded morals at Central Hospital, they were utterly inhumane.

Not just him, but even the pretty nurse Nini by his side was filled with anger, staring at the doctor and saying:

"Gao Chang, you're not fit to be a doctor at all. I'm going to tell my grandfather about this! And their deposit, I'll pay for it!"

Saying that, Nini took her wallet out from her pocket, took all the money from it, and handed it to the old man:

"Don't worry about him, just pay the deposit. I will find another doctor to help with the healing later!"

Watching this unfold, the young doctor's face instantly turned sour, especially when he thought of Nini's grandfather, which made his scalp tingle. He cursed himself for being utterly foolish.

If he had known earlier how kind-hearted Nini was, he should have made a good impression in front of her! But now, having offended all the laborers, it would be difficult to change the impression he made in Nini's heart.

The laborers, after taking the money, were imnsely grateful to Nini. After thanking her profusely, they were about to head to the paynt window.

It was at this mont that Ye Feng stepped forward quickly, stopping them all in their tracks: "Wait!"

Huh?

The laborers were stunned, clearly not understanding why Ye Feng had stopped them.

Nini was equally perplexed and anxiously tugged at Ye Feng, "Hurry and let them go, let them pay the deposit so I can find soone to help with the healing!"

But Ye Feng, after hearing her, just waved his hand and after a careful examination of the injured laborer, he asked the other laborers:

"Did he fall from the scaffolding without any warning?"

"Yeah! What's wrong?" The laborers were full of doubts, not understanding why a cleaner would ask this.

By this ti, Ye Feng already had a clear understanding and he said:

"His leg fracture is a minor issue, the most serious problem is that he had a stroke!"
