,

Without any hesitation or thinking, Xiaohua imdiately agreed to Xinghe's words, "We'll go together."

As they spoke, Xinghe and Xiaohua both ran after the flocks of sheep and cattle, trying to drive them back.

But just then, the rainbows in the sky above turned blood-red in an instant, as if the entire sky had beco a sea of blood.

Seeing this, Xinghe's suppressed panic exploded once again, and he felt his spirit trembling as if he was sinking into a profound sense of death.

At the onset of this feeling, Xinghe tossed away the bamboo pole in his hand, dropping it to the ground, and rushed towards Xiaohua.

"Xiaohua, hurry, co with , forget about the cattle and sheep," Xinghe shouted suddenly.

Upon voicing these words, Xinghe was already by Xiaohua's side, grabbing her and heading forward.

"Brother Xinghe, I feel like this ti we really might die, just like the prophecy said, we'll perish in that calamity. What should we do? I don't want to die; I still have my parents and grandparents. I don't want to leave them, I love them," Xiaohua sobbed as she spoke.

Hearing the sobs next to him, Xinghe felt equally anxious. Wasn't he just like Xiaohua? He too had family, many things he wished to hold onto for a lifeti, and he didn't want to die like this.

But when calamity strikes, is it enough to not want to die to avoid death?

"Xiaohua, don't worry. As long as we can make it back, we won't die. We must go and see the temple near our ho; maybe, just maybe, we can find a strand of vitality there."

As Xinghe spoke, his feet moved swiftly, pulling Xiaohua as he dashed into the distance.

They didn't know how long they ran, nor how far, but by the ti the sky had turned entirely blood-red, Xinghe and Xiaohua could run no more.

Seeing this, Ye Feng, who was gliding above, narrowed his eyes, then gently opened them again. With a pointing gesture of his right hand, a beam of light flashed upward.

As the light appeared, it descended, and at the sa ti, a mysterious grass not far in front of Xinghe and Xiaohua quickly began to grow.

The speed at which the grass grew was astonishing enough to leave anyone watching in awe, yet at this mont, no one noticed this change.

Xinghe and Xiaohua, both panting heavily, also failed to notice these developnts.

Monts later, Xinghe and Xiaohua simultaneously looked up, and as soon as they did, their eyes widened in disbelief.

They stared incredulously at the towering grass before them, almost as tall as a person, their eyes revealing suspicion as they glanced around.

"Xiaohua, earlier, earlier, wasn't there nothing here?" Xinghe quickly said.

Xinghe's voice was loaded with a strong tremor.

Xiaohua nodded rapidly, as if pounding garlic, "Yes, there was nothing here."

The sobbing note added a subtle sense of desolation to the scene.

As Xinghe stared, wide-eyed, at the grass nearly as tall as himself, he gingerly stepped forward.

Even as he moved, he didn't release Xiaohua's hand.

Upon reaching the grass, he forcefully pulled it out, clutching it in his hand.

But just as he uprooted the grass, Xinghe felt an endless power surge within his body.

The arrival of this strength made Xinghe's eyes light up, dispelling all fear in his heart and the terror on his face.

"Xiaohua, let's go." As the light in Xinghe's eyes faded, he gave the grass in his hand a long look before picking up Xiaohua and dashing forward.

His speed was incredibly fast, with no pause in his steps, causing Xiaohua's expression to change.

"Xinghe, what's gotten into you? How did you suddenly beco so powerful?" Xiaohua wiped her tear-reddened eyes and softly asked.

"Xiaohua, I don't know either, but now that we have this strange strength, we can't let it go to waste. We must hurry back to the temple; I've heard that when the calamity cos, the temple is the only place that can withstand it," Xinghe said earnestly.

In truth, at this mont, Xinghe vaguely understood why grasping the grass endowed him with peculiar strength.

But to be safe, Xinghe said nothing more, holding Xiaohua tightly as he rushed forward.

anwhile, the sky had beco even more densely red, a thick layer as if a mass of blood hovered above, seemingly on the verge of collapsing at any mont.

This sight made Xinghe and Xiaohua even more anxious.

The sudden patter of rain started, and surprisingly it was pure blood-red rain.

Upon seeing this, Xinghe and Xiaohua panicked again.

They clearly felt an overwhelming sense of oppression pressing down upon them as the rain fell on them.

It even reddened their skin, slowing the flow of blood within them.

As if within this bloody rain, there was a strange toxin making their breathing extrely difficult.

With all these changes occurring, Xiaohua's face, which had just started to look slightly better, turned grim again.

"Xinghe, let

go," Xiaohua weakly shouted.

"Let

go, run by yourself. If you make it back, you can still live; otherwise, you will die, you'll surely die," Xiaohua cried once more.

"I don't want you to die. Even if I die, I don't want you to die. Go, you must go."

Xinghe's eyes focused intently as he strengthened his grip, pushing himself to his utmost limits in speed.

"Xiaohua, believe , we won't die, we'll survive, we must survive, trust ," Xinghe said firmly.

What Xinghe said was rely to comfort Xiaohua; he was well aware that under such circumstances, there wasn't a shred of opportunity or possibility of living.

Unless he agreed with Xiaohua, he wouldn't survive.
